@@akbarlindner7276 I used to go to a barber 💈 then I realize it was too much money so I just started buzz cutting it my self. One thing I did say tho was if any barber ever hit me up to do any home renovations or unclog a sink, toilet or shower. I would charge them full price rate average in my industry. Only ppl I will never give a discount to are politicians and barbers lol 😂
@@jahmaljones4387 I have the same barber for the last 25 years and his prices went up a little over that time span, but as mu money went up so did his tips. A good barber understands the business and his clientele.
Nah bro, all He did was lower his paycheck and for what? For people to come in picky af asking for a haircut and and a perfect line up and the beard tapered to the cut and the eye brows for $20.. nah bro we charging $35 on our shop and that’s low af.. I don’t mean to be like that but I put tons of detail in my haircuts and fibers and chalk and it’s art to me I would be charging $60 cut + free shampoo because I know the amount of work that goes in, :( sadly people don’t actually think because they say “🤯 $60 for a haircut?” Yes a haircut that will last 2 weeks and fibers that will last 2 days 👍🏽… 😂 then they take their awww to pay $30 for a single meal that will disappear in 20 min and turn into 💩 there they don’t have a problem 😂
@@carlusb8508 Please explain those father and son moments. I’m a woman and have no idea what you are talking about. How do those moments make you feel? What do those moments entail?
@@carlusb8508 Have you been to an ethnic Barber Shop? I wouldn't take any women or children into 90% of them. Some of the most ignorant negative energy places on earth
@@ladidodi8912you’re teaching your son a lot about personal grooming. It’s also quality time. He gets to see dad in a different light, hanging with the guys, joking, and he gets to see others get their haircut. There are so many lessons to be learned just from going and sitting at the barbershop.
I've run my own tire shop for 18 years here in North Florida, and my dad used to always tell me growing up, Don't ever chase a dollar, Let it find you! I owe my success to him, my father took care a family of 11 boys and 4 girls with a landscaping business working maybe 45hrs a week, we always had and my mom never had to lift a finger for nothing! He showed me that loyalty of his clients paid the bill and came with favor you can't imagine! I now make what my dad did in a month, I make in a week in the tire business, but living off that same concept. To the barber, your Day 1 clients always give them breaks, they're your non paid employees and your free advertising cause they tell everyone they meet old and young how good a barber you are...💯🙏🏾
It’s been over 5 years since I stopped going to the barber. Bought my own clippers and started cutting my hair myself. Took a couple cuts to get a hang of it, but now I do it crispier than my barber used to, and have saved a lot of money.
Bro, people are so gullible. They’re praising this man and not realizing what you said. Them app appointments is slow. lol. They losing customers. He didn’t care about dude when he was eating. Now he’s starving talking about he misses father and son moments lol. Losing money will do that to you
I know it's ppl on here takin about how he's such a gentleman, man bumped his prices up double, triple fold and once he realizes ppl are excepting worse cuts for lower and his clients aren't returning nooooow he wanna remember some stuff
That's so real on his part you can feel it in his heart. The world needs more people like him to bless others. May God keep blessing you on your journey 🙏
Beauticians and Barbers have gotten way too expensive. 50 dollars for a shape up! 150 for a wash, cut, curl. People are not making a ton of money. So a lot of people are learning to do it themselves or find someone else. So I’m glad this barber is listening and understanding what his old client was saying and he will get more business as a result of him taking his prices down. ❤️🙏

@@swageandpose yes that bothers me alot especially when i see nike advertising that there using recycled materials, which i would think would be even cheaper material yet the prices stay the same..
Finally he said the quiet part out loud. Barbers, nail tech, hair salons have lost sight of community! Price gouging the hell out of people who have supported them for decades!!! If I go to the barber once every 3 months that’s a lot! So my barber getting the same money I was paying before. Because he lost the frequency of my visits. Technically he losing money. He hit me for $50 but I used to go in there every month once. Sometimes twice a month if I had an event. So he could have made anywhere from $60 to $120 from me within a 3 month period. Now he just get $50. I got a baldy and I shape my own beard up now. Greed always destroys and creates avenues for other people to hustle or for people to realize they don’t need to be spending what they spending for that service. And that’s why we need immigrants! Because they will do the same job if not better out they house and be very appreciative of what you pay them. Thank you sir for trying to bring attention to this and realizing being a barber isn’t just a job it’s a rewarding career and it ain’t all about capitalizing on your customers knowing they struggling out there.
@nineteeneightyseven4404 I cut my barber out 10 years ago , not because of price but how long he took . He was good but slow . The barbershop would open 7am, and I would get there a 6, then 5 , then , 4am . When I got there at 4 am, there were four cars in front of me . I said ( F ) it I would cut my own, and I did . No more getting up early . Life is a lot better without a barber .
I'm in the same boat as you bro used to get a bald fade and beard trim for 25.00 plus a tip now they want 45.00 plus a tip. The problem is I get my haircut by an immigrant and they still be wanting 45.00
I wish I lived near you. Because as a father I have four sons. And because of this very issue, I stated cutting their hair myself. But hearing someone that cuts hair for a living understands. I would find away to come to you, Sir. God bless you, I pray that you prosper. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You grow up with the clients. When you finally meet rhe rest of the family, you feel like you know them too. Its therapy for the stylists too. Its a gift. I was a stylist for the longest time. Loved the regulars and referrals. When the other stylists were away, they'd come to me. Also loved cutting for charity events.
Thank you for loving your craft. We live in a generation where everyone is motivated by $ instead of being passionate about their profession. New barbers let social inflate their head and for the outliers that make it for themselves great but for the up and coming barber with no prior history or reference those prices will be the death of you. I had the same barber from 6- 24 and the only reason he isn’t my barber is because I moved from NY.
Barbers work hard but some of these prices are crazy. I commend that customer, he didn't want to cause any drama he just took his budget somewhere else.
I love that his client felt comfortable enough to let him know the reason, and I love even more that The Barber felt something in his heart. He didn’t have to lower his prices, but the reasoning he gave melted my heart.
Thank you!❤ For SUPPORTING these PARENTS!! You love your JOB!! Which is a beautiful ART!! Cutting HAIR!! IS A SPECIAL ART!! Beautiful SKILL!! Love your JOB!! ❤❤❤ Love your Clients! These young boys will be your customers forever!; ❤️🕊️❤️🕊️❤️🕊️
Beautiful i love it Sir not all about the money thank the Lord he touched your heart you had a change if heart God just used that man to remind u if your roots period
...if them dudes stop chatting so much about everything under the Sun and handle business they could probably have clients out in 15-20 mins... effective time management = $$$ When there's too many distractions a simple cut takes 45 mins thats almost a $1/minute in most cases. I'm bald and last time I was in a chair dude charged me $40. No razor or hot towel shave and lined up the goatee... He went over my head 3 times all the while he wanted to talk my ear off and I wanted to get done. Same 30 mins at home, no wait is my fix. However if someone comes in with dreads to the floor then they definitely need to make a special appointment where the stylist can block off the time and charge adequately for their time. I love the profession and talent but them prices arent always a reflection of value. Bless you Bruh for what youre doing!🙏
God is going to bless this Man because he sees what it really means to be of service to God's children. God gives overflow not humans. No one can out give and blessings like God does. Thank you Sir. May God keep you and your family ❤
Congratulations, you are a real Humanitarian!! Most people today are all about the money and what they can do and get for themselves. This move will bring you so much more business, you’ll have to make appointments. Also unity in the community and memories amongst the father and sons that come.. God Bless you and your business, Sir! Thank You !!🙏🏾 😊
@greenspointtx5656 blame Biden and Harris for the terrible economy and inflation out of control if it was lower people wouldn't have to raise their prices to keep up barbers should have been paid a little more considering how much women's hair costs
Typically the price of a haircut has always been double what minimum wage is in California it’s $16 and hour or $20 if your in fast food so cuts are $35-$40 it’s not our fault it’s the poor economy. Cutting hair is a skill not anybody can pick up a pair of clippers and give a clean fade. It takes time and dedication that’s what you’re paying for. Cuz if your complaining on the price just buzz your hair yourself and save yourself the money.
Good on him. My dad was a barber since before i was born. The only barber in a small town. When he passed the turnout was jaw-dropping. His prices were not high & the people talked about how he was family.
@@ricokadeem8547 takes at least 25-30 minutes for a decent quality haircut. That equals $20 an hour smarty pants. Really even less if you factor in the barbers expenses. But people like you don’t care about or value your barbers so you could care less than if he’s poor or not.
This is exactly what I've been saying. now, let this trend catch on and watch Barbershops Start popping again. What they think they're losing in value, They'll gain in volume.
@@adamcallahan242 ! So basically work harder because of more volume. Make it make sense. How about just go to the barbershop once a month and sacrifice looking average instead of trying to tear into people's business. And I'm not a barber. I couldn't imagine surviving off less than $30 a haircut
@@dakidnu-kidssongsnurserypo8909most barbers I know cut at least 20 heads a day. $20 a haircut plus tips is like making $500 a day that's plenty of money does $40 $50 stuff is crazy
I am so glad that this barber finally understood what this economy has done to working families. My beautician's prices got so high that SHE drove me to RU-vid University to learn how to do my own.
This is why i grew my locs. I pay $100 every 3 to 4 months. A haircut these days are are about $50 to $60 dollars a cut. Every 2 weeks , that is $100 to $120 a month.
I saw that video. He also said he doesnt make more money after raising his prices, but he makes the same amount of money cutting less heads. He showed how much he made over the last several years it was between llike $58-63k per year. He doesn't find his job as fulfilling anymore. BUT I bet if he focused on filling his bookings, he'd jump like 2 tax brackets.
I have two boys in high school and they were $28 each. One had locs with a fade and the other a tapered afro or a line up. That price was at discount because they are students.
He lowkey a fake barber tho. Any real barber would’ve locked the mans and his kids in at a set price and not make them have to pay the new price. The new price is for new clients.
❤ what a wonderful example, if only we could all be like this man, trading our time knowledge and skills , if everyone did this we could have a neverending circle of kindness and blessings and everyone would help everyone and no one would be left behind ❤ aww now thats a wonderful dream❤
Fugg all dat lol. Haircuts were the same price for a good 15 yrs. Run me my money lol theyll pay for a 8th an smoke it up in a day but wont pay for a cut that last at least a week maybe 2. 😂😂
I feel this, but rent has probably tripled over that 15 years, and those who dont change their prices probably own the location they cut at. I dont think you can be a 25 year old barber that just started, and be able to survive on $15-20 cuts. But at the same time these RU-vid barbers talkin bout "my client paid me $150-200 for this cut" is straight up bs.
@bcd398 na fr. Who knows if they charge that much or if it's jus click bait lol. If I charge em 100 or more. It's because I'm pulling up an it's throwing my day off. Jus pull up on me an gimme dat 30-40 an get blessed lol I charged 15-20 5yrs ago when I first started. I feel as a fresh barber they should charge according to their skills and adjust prices as they become better and better. We get fired everyday as barbers. Provide quality and receive what you're worth.... B4 tip lolz
@@occity360 you're probably right about it being clickbait lol. But the market corrects itself over time. Since COVID barber prices have gone up way past inflation numbers, and over that same period of time men have been learning to cut their own hair. I've cut my own hair with a 1 guard all around since I was in high school, and only paid for a barber cut when Im going on trips or special occasions. But when COVID hit I started giving myself tapers on the sides, then graduated to sides and back, then started giving myself mohawk cuts just because I knew I wouldn't be in the office around people, now I give myself and friends barber quality cuts. I saw how much barbers were going up (went from 30 to 45 just for a cut, no beard) and figured it would be an easy transition to start doing my own hair since I already had the tools and some experience.
A barber was standing in the doorway of a barbershop where he worked. I overheard a conversation where the barber was complaining because he’s used to having (he says) 20 clients a day and dropped down to 3 a day. Prices have gotten out of hand.
I agree with that barber 100% I'm a hairstylist in my local area people always telling me I should make my prices higher $$$ because how the quality of service i give my clients but I always tell them No, God gave me this gift and He will provide and I enjoy what i do for the clients that do sit in my chair ❤
Make a grown man shed a tear fr awesome sole right here not because of price reduction but the reason if he makes a good living and he he’s trying to bro no the best to his customers what is there to go wrong, keep it up 👍
