Iewduh (Yewduh) is the proper name of the place, not Barabazar. It is a sacred heritage market of the indigenous Khasi people. Referring to it as Barabazar is seen as disrespectful to their culture. The non-indigenous community, in general, has not shown consideration for the sentiments of the indigenous Khasi people by not making an effort to call it Iewduh (Yewduh) and instead perpetuating the false name of the market. Nowadays, most Khasi people don't mind using the term Barabazar when speaking with non-Khasi people for convenience. I kindly request everyone to help preserve the cultural heritage and identity of the tribal community of Meghalaya and to educate others about the importance of respecting different cultures.

What do you want to prove? I think you are not from northeastern or may be you are from Assam? Why people like you trying to pull to your side tribal people believe in Hindu. We tribal people have own identity, religion, language, culture...
Trains should be used for means for transport and convenience not for unnecessary over migration from UP and bihar or illegal immigrants when those people literally go other states without any job in hand and then enroaching footpaths for unnecessary shops, slums near railway station. Locals have enough shops in their city to cater them, they dont need footpath disturbance. The indian govt is fooling others with largest train network to dump poverty from two states or bangladeshi illegal immigrants to burden other states. Are other indian states penalised for controlling their population. If your city doesnt have railway station, u are lucky to not get poverty migration .
Nagaland, Meghalaya and Mizoram are English speaking states. You will definitely find it convenient to communicate in northeast India because they are more comfortable and familiar with English rather than Hindi.
Am from shillong I love to see that some people from outside came to visit my locality, since we are located in the corner of India most of the people in India they are discriminated and looking down us with different ideology but happy to see people from outside respect and appreciate us...what you see and what you find is not the end n if u come again I can help u to take some places....👍

Just returned today from Shillong NEIGRIHMS to Silchar after my mother's treatment. I have heard a lot of good things about the hospital and this time I have personally experienced it. The people are so humble, neat and clean and so caring. My mom has improved a lot as a Brain Stroke patient. Here in silchar we spent lots of money in private hospitals (x,y,z ..) but the nursing is not up to the mark.

This vlogger shows the dirty and slums places of Shillong where the non natives reside, the main Indian from main India. 😭 I can’t stand the unhygienic of mainland Indian and it is one thing Khasi people really hates because the Khasi are the most hygienic and clean human in India.

it's frustrated man our place doesn't have ILP like yours its becoming tripura day by day..n you should know that non locals mainland will claim that they are from here staying 2 3 months especially that lady with in that temple self proclaimed 150 years my foot..n he is exploring non locals not real meghalaya..
U can travel by meghalaya tourist buses they provides the office is in police bazar, they will take u to atleast 5 tourist destinations and the rate of the bus is quite cheap they will provide guides too , they take around Rs.400 upto cherrapunji..go and check the office once

We the Local people of Meghalaya Local people here are Khasi and Garo so we welcome outsider for Tourists and travellers only we do not want Outsider come in Meghalaya do businesses cause they snatch A way the work and business from local people and we do not want Outsider to come in Meghalaya and stay for forever cause we the Local people we are facing problem to find the Home in Meghalaya cause of too much of those outsider

I think you won't go there in sohra means in local places in meghalaya in shillong it full of garbage better to go to sohra and another places in meghalaya in rural area and it clean and fresh not like in shillong
