You have once again shown me, that no matter how many jokes, no matter how many giggles, you are one of the best artists of them all, Bobby. This is a masterpiece.
Bobby you get 423 likes and only 1 now 2 comments that’s because you left everyone speechless with this one. I showed everyone in my family your finished piece and they all had the same expression, wide eyed and open mouth. It’s so beautiful.
They know him well by now. New Security Guy. Uhh, Guys, do we have to worry about this guy?!? Old Security Guys: Nah, Guy, this guy's just ... Bobby D. Just ... Let him do his thing!
He’s all goofy and hilarious on camera but when he does art like this, it’s just beautiful. It’s genuinely a piece of art that tells a story which is my favorite type of art
The unequal size of the kneeling man to the wings honestly makes me see someone feeling burdened by their goodness. A person that is wholly good, an angel on earth if you will, but feels disrespected and taken advantage of. It feels very much like a crises for this person, like "do I want to continue to bear these wings, or let them fall?" That aside, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen. I love that you made them light up. Just absolutely breathtaking. Brilliant job, Bobby!
The size of the wings is not disproportional in everyones eyes. To me it looks balanced. And remember that the interpretation says more about the interpreter then the interpretated piece.
@@youmenly that’s the beauty of art though, isn’t it? there’s the meaning behind it that the artist intended, and then there’s hundreds of thousands of different meanings from different people. neither of us are wrong; i’m not for interpreting the interpretated piece as disproportionate, and you aren’t for viewing it as proportionate. this is a video after all, maybe our interpretations would be different in person. :)
My favorite shot is the Rainbow LED lighting in the background. I audibly gasped when you coated the matte wings and they went clear. That looked incredibly satisfying. Great job dewd.
For me I had a flashback to when he talked about having a hard time with quting smoking and depression. Today he says, "I won't mess up, Cause I'm Bobby Duke Arts", i alsmot cried dude.
I love how these have slowly become more bizarre and chaotic since quarantine. It’s no longer just about the physical art, it’s the art of comedy and storytelling too now
Man, I can so relate to you on so many levels, from the sobriety(minus the smokes...but working on it) to the hilariousness to the obsessive need to create. You have inspired me to get back to my wood working. Every time I'm in my shop, I just look around and feel overwhelmed and don't know how to get back to it. But I guess a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, or block of wewd......lol. Thanks for doing what you do in the way you do it and meaning a lot to some of us out there that might have some sobriety but still struggle with the self doubt and fear of inability or inadequacy. Keep on keeping on from a random internet stranger North of Boston!
In the same situation. Have a wonderful shop full of tools but no inspiration. The piece of artwork made in this video is soul shaking and I think I may need to try and duplicate it. Havent given up just need a reason to try.
i feel the name “the mourning of Icarus” would be cool. It looks like his father grieving for over his sons death. The wings being lite up can look like the “imaginary” or silhouetted wings that he used to have to escape.
I think he said entropy of the soul is the name. Entropy is the process of losing energy through heat so it makes sense because he burned the statue representing hardships and the wings could represent the hope that isn’t lost.
This is incredibly, provokingly stunning. The burnt human form is symbolic on its own; but this evokes such emotion. Together with the wings and perhaps with the aide of the music, it truly is a soulful masterpiece. Well done.
First words out of my mouth when you showed the finished piece; “Jesus that’s beautiful.” In the most reverent voice I’ve ever heard come out of my mouth. Even higher praise when I realized I don’t think I’ve ever strung those three words together before. Amazing. I’m glad for whatever confluence of events led the algorithm to suggest this video today. Immediately subscribed..
We have.. incredibly similar musical tastes. Aside from that aside, the final product is stunning, and you did it the masterful way: actually making it yourself. Fine show, sir!
My grandmother just passed away from Her fight with cancer last night, she had tested negative for over a year up until a few days ago it had just spread so fast that it only took a few days. It was really nice to wake up to your video and it really helped me to have a better start to my day. ❤
can you imagine being his neighbor, and seeing that "horror" sequence out of context?....me and my mom would first ask if he was okay, then laugh our butts off upon finding out he did it for a joke- X3 but for real, AMAZING PEICE
It's probably perfectly normal to his neighbors at this point. I can imagine of his neighbors had someone over to visit: *Man runs around outside, screaming hysterically* "D-did you just see that?" "Oh, that's just Bobby".
When I see this I think of change and hope, the body that was chared is like a shell and the wings are braking free to show change and with the clear crystal part of the wings helps people to keep hope for a bright future
"I decided to do it again exactly the same way, but this time i was hoping for a different outcome, because that makes sense. Poor Smooth Brain" I actually started cackling LMAO
This might honestly be my favourite thing that Bobby has ever created. Even with all the jokes and shenanigans, you still manage to make absolute masterpieces. You are the reason I started creating anything at all, so for that, and the beauty of the pieces you present to us, I thank you.
I love how a guy this, well, goofy to say the least is super unprofessional and stuff constantly making silly jokes throughout the entire video, then right at the end it’s always an amazing piece of art that looks like it costs several million dollars and is in a super fancy art museum
he says he is an artist but he cannot estimate the proportions .. all the work for only a half-finished result .. i would be very dissatisfied with myself. and do it all over again. The sculpture is much too small for the wings .. The shape doesn't quite fit, .. it would be much better and would cost less .. so I can only say that it is badly made. SP: we not from USA ^^ we got not so much brainwash like you all. ^^ maybe that´s why
@@PuffTheMagicDragon11B you’re so right. Especially who cause it’s an angel, a fictional figure so why does it has to be “proportional”. It’s the wings which make angels special so o think they should be exaggerated.
@@DasOhneEnde I would LOVE to see you make what he made, but make it "proportionate" I doubt you could make THAT sculpture, like, if you made what he made, you would be dissatisfied with yourself? 😂 Stop acting like: "OH iTs A fIcTiOnAl ChArAcTeR oF wHIcH hAs No ScIeNtIiFiC pRoPorTiOns. BuT iM tOo BrAiN dEaD tO sEe tHe gOoD iN tHe ActUaL ArT pIeCe iTsElf AnD tHE TiMe He PuT iNtO iT fOr Us TO ENJOY." Its art that he put time into, angels are fictional and we dont know how big their wings would be. So there are no "CORRECT" proportions. I'd love to see you make an almost exact replica of what he made but use the "right" proportions.
I'm so happy I just stumbled upon your channel. Dude you crack me up and your art is fantastic. I hate how much I laughed at your "Look at this." while holding up a sign that said "This." 😂😂
Hey man, I'm not sure if you'll see this comment, but this piece is just otherworldly. I'm a stoic individual and admittedly I can appreciate art but rarely does it really move me. I know you are a funny and silly individual (I mean this in the best way possible), but you created an absolute masterpiece here. It literally took my breath away when you revealed it. That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen and seeing it put together was a true punch to the gut (again in the best way possible). Keep being you man, I absolutely love your work. Take it easy!
Just as that. This was pretty moving for me and I am surprised about that. That rarely happens in front of a piece, in a video never has. And I'm not even christian and impressed by angels and stuff. But this is different. I'd love to see it in person.
I love your work. I may be diving a little deep here, but I struggle with depression. I am not an artistic man, but this piece speaks to me so much. The strength of the man, weeping, for some reason talked to my soul. Thank you for all you do.
@@ninuhuju1897 defiantly Daedalus, i suspect the person who made this comment is in middle school and only just learned who Icarus is, and thought nobody would know and it would be super deep or something.
I started out laughing at your great video antics. And was next in awe of your knowledge & artistic talent. Then when you applied the wings to your carving, and showed it completed, it literally brought me to tears. It is so breathtakingly beautiful. I am so glad I happen upon you & great, quirky, & totally entertaining videos. You're a very gifted artist. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world!
With a huge amount of respect, you sir are a crazy, artistic genius. In reflection, I think almost all the great artists that have spanned the years have been. Your work is ment for museums, so all can see their beauty. Thank you so much for sharing.
This peace actually brought tears to my eyes, I've been through tough times, and I came out the other side burned, but this peace helped me realise that those burns don't have to be a source of shame, and that despite it all, I still have my wings. Bobby, I can tell that you are so passionate about what you do, and just like with any art form, when the work comes from your true self, and is fuelled by your inner fire, it contains true emotion that others can connect with, and through that, not only empathise with you, but also link it back to their own experiences. I think the true power of art is its ability to make people feel something, whether that be their own emotions, your emotions, or both, that is what true art is, it's what happens when you pour your truth into what you're doing.
This blew my tiny, useless mind. This is AMAZING and it deserves so much more attention than it’s already gotten. Round of applause for this genius 👏 👏
This could be a very nice Lucifer reference, doesn't matter if the netflix one or the bible one, this statue fits pretty well for both. Amazing as always Bobby
I almost see it as a metaphor for Bobby's life. He has been so open about his drug addiction, his depression, and his struggles overcoming smoking. He may only see himself as the burnt man but everyone else can see his beautiful wings, ready to raise him above the ashes.
I spendt a long time trying to find the piano music in this video and thought someone else also might also want to enjoy it! :) 6:54 Nocturnal Waltz - Johannes Bornlof 17:05 Wolfpack - Johannes bornlof
I wish I new people were looking for these because I as soon as I started watching I recognized them from my Spotify. I have a whole playlist on Spotify of piano music and some of it is stuff Bobby uses 😆 Johannes is amazing though
I've had this saved in my Watch Later library for ages, but haven't watched it, thinking it would just be a how-to for a craft I thought looked cool. But no! You're so good at entertaining people, my dude! You made me smile and really impressed me! And your craft work is INCREDIBLE! Many kudos to you, sir!
