I FILLED My Suitcase at an Art Trade Show! 

My mum used to own a craft shop, and went over to the US for a craft supplies convention and she came home with sooooooo much stuff, and none of it was tester size, it's all the actual product size. I didn't appreciate it as a 6yo, but now I think it must have been a dream. I'm from Melbourne too 🥰

I am SO excited about the dateless planner!! I love planners but stopped buying them because I never use a planner 12 months out of the year...more like 6. Now I can pick and choose the months I want to plan more fully, and not worry about wasting half a dated planner. Thank you for this change!

When I found out about the Talens Pantone markers, I took a deep breath and purchased all 108 available colors. It's probably the most expensive medium I have ever bought and I am just as terrified as I am thrilled about it. The concept of the light fastness and permanent ink that is water based, is just blowing me away and I love it.

As a child I lived in Australia; I remember the airplane ride to Australia from the United States and the one back to the United States - both were doozies. I have so much respect to you for taking multiple trips back and forth for your work!

Recently I realized there are A LOT of marker types - acrylic, paint, water based, ink based and probably other types, too; and I can say I'm a little overwhelmed. A video about these would be very welcomed :)

You read my mind, Sarah! I saw another crafter flash those Karin markers, but she ignored them and never showed them in her videos. I was searching the Internet to try to figure out what they were and they’re not on the Karin website right now. And of course they were the first thing you busted out! I was so excited that you pulled those out so I could see what they were The deco brush markers are an acrylic brush pen also, so I don’t understand the difference either but I can’t wait to find out .

Thanks for this fun look at all your goodies from Creativation. Late to the party here, but for the products from Ranger, like designer/creators Simon Hurley, Dina Wakely, Tim Holtz, (who also has licensed products through Sizzix, Tonic and Stamper's Anonymous) they should all be available in Australia at some point in the near future if not now. I can't imagine as big as Ranger is, that they don't have a distribution hub in Australia! I think most of the large American companies, like Ranger, Sizzix, American Craft and other big arts/crafts manufacturers all make their products available internationally, but they just cost more...bummer.

I live in Quebec and I am happy to find your youtube videos in 2021-2022 when I started coloring in 2020 as a good idea for me as I have few mobilty and health issues. You are fantastic too. I was looking to find an art show which I can attend in USA. Yesterday, you make my day. I was so excited when I watch few minutes your video before attending my acrylic abstract course. I also take color pencils and drawing with the same super talented multi mediums artist. I told her that I found something very exciting that I will watch today and talked to her on Monday. Your cat was doing a “reverse sneeze” caused by brief spasm in throat. Usually resolves on its own within 30 seconds. I am very familiar with this since I’m a vet.

Missed the live because we were at a painting event for my birthday! We‘re currently visiting family in Louisiana and we’ve been to New Orleans 3 days ago! First time for the kids, hubby and I have been several times! Can’t wait to see what you’re unpacking! I’ve already been to hobby lobby and a local art store to shop for art supplies, but after I‘m done with this video I might have to go back!

Sarah, Thanks for showing us all the great supplies! Just a friendly FYI, there are new markers that are lightfast. In alcohol markers the Talens Pantone Markers are pigment based so they are lightfast. The Faber Castell Pitt Pens are pigment based and lightfast.

I have the Steadtler Pigment pens. I LOVE them! Less streaky then water based markers. They dont rip the page up as much and vibrant colours. I have been using them in my Johanna Basford books.

Simon Hurley's moldable/reusable foam isn't a new thing but his is pretty reasonably priced for being a name brand product. I bought the same stuff, but in a blue color, some years ago. I had a blast with it and still occasionally use some of the stamps I created with it. I think it was called "Fun Foam" at that time. The companies who were making it then, aren't making it now. But moldable foam or "stamping foam" is pretty plentiful on Amazon, along with Simon Hurley's, and is still out there, but is white and sold by different brands. There is also mold making material marketed for custom molds and impressions and cosplay, called "Blue Stuff," but it is stretchy and has a shiny texture...not the same stuff as stamping foam. Stamping foam is fun and you can make a lot of great and pretty detailed impressions, with it, but it's hard to create anything 3d with it, as you can with other mold-making materials such as clay and resins. 😊

This art haul was amazing. Sorry i missed the stream. My brother always promised we would go when I came for a visit cuz he lives a two hour drive from there. He used to go there a lot. But I have never been. Always wanted to go. So that sounds like a fun trip. Its got a lot of culture especially in the french quarter even after hurricane Katrina came through it 19 years ago has been rebuilt. However though it is primarily said to host mardi gras traditions, in fact it is not the origin of that. It originated in mobile, al which is the city my brother and mom live in. Several people from new Orleans had to relocate to Mobile and a lot of new Orleans culture has been spread throughout the surrounding cities and States. Its fascinating too.

I don't know if this would make a difference or not, but maybe using a paper blending stump with the Holbein Meltz might work better than a regular paint brush...Also, Stacey Park owns a mom-and-pop shop in California called Scrapbooking Made Simple and has RU-vid videos under the same name.

I love watching your videos you are very engaging and this is what’s making me want to post, I usually don’t. You say you’re a perfectionist, while I am too. Or I should say I was, I have several different diseases, which now make it impossible to be a perfectionist. This is very frustrating when trying to color, and suddenly your hand scribbles across a colored picture that was moments ago quite beautiful until my hand spazzes out, lol. My trashcan was filling up quite often and my husband asked me. Why didn’t I even try to finish? I said because I couldn’t post it so it wasn’t even worth keeping. I always end up feeling rejected and sad rather than relaxed & that was the purpose of Coloring to start with as I’m in chronic pain all the time, please help!

I am a proud resident of 'The Land of 10,000 Lakes', Minnesota, USA. The State of Louisiana, Cajun Coast, Bayou, Avery Island, New Orleans is the only place in the US I actually encourage people to visit. I have visited and/or worked in all 48 continental states and this is by far the most unique area in our Nation. Highly Recommend. Wouldn't want to live there but I still crave the food, music and exotic ambiance of the entire state.

Makers magic is amazing!

I am pretty sure you need to try an oil based colored pencil (like polychromos). It may be the blender doesn’t work with wax based cp’s. Not 100% sure but possible. :)

I’m a Puerto Rican who’s been living in Los Angeles since 1975 at age 12. I’ve never been to New Orleans. 😕 I spent the summers of ‘73 and ‘74 in Brooklyn and the Bronx respectively. Other than that, I’ve been to Las Vegas, Nevada, Missouri, Oklahoma, and my sister and I spent a night in Atlanta because our flight had engine problems on our way home to L.A. after spending Christmas in P.R. with our parents. I still remember going to the check in counter at the hotel in Atlanta and tripping out in their southern accent. It’s the first time I’d heard it in person. 😊

The Steadler Multi Ink Marker, I won't say it is new because they seem the same to me as Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens coz they got India Ink and are also Lightfast.

You need to put down more layrs for the Meltz to work properly

You can get pretty powerful UV lamp if you cover half a sample and light up the other half under UV lamp it should be a pretty scientific way to test lightfastness. you could test 1 week exposure 1 month, 2 month, 6 month. I think that would atleast give a good idea of what is resistant to light damage and to what extent.

Did you talk to prismacolor about their dreadful quality control? So many of my pencils have leads that are not properly put in and sharpening is a nightmare because you end up with a high amount of wood and you have to get in with a knife and then bang goes your sharp point so many uneven points I would really like to see even leads. Cheap brands can do better so why not them?

Missed the live but just watched now. Sorry to say I had to shut it off halfway because it was just too painful to watch all the waste. It was just so obvious that you don't understand what most of the products are used for or what they are all about and therefore will likely never use or even look at them again. It looks like you just ran around like a kid on Halloween grabbing as much as you could without stopping long enough to pay attention to the presenters and learn about what you were grabbing. The idea of just taking something without knowing what its is for or if you'll use is just a concept I can't get my head around. The video presented like it was the first time you ever looked at most of the products. I'm sorry but this video was just not a good look. You came across as gluttonous and ill-prepared.
