I have a 1985 JCM 800 2204 another great pedal to use with it is a boss ge-7 eq or definitely the boss SD-1 with gain at 9 o'clock and level at 3 o'clock.
Nice. A bit off topic, I gig in small clubs with a 4x12 playing rock, now I’m considering downsizing the cab or maybe using a ported cab. With your experience if you were playing in this scenario but not miked through the PA which do you think is the best kind of cab for this. The problem is I just love the sound and feel of a 4 x 12. Maybe you could do an episode on this? Because a great many of us players out there gig in small bars/clubs. Cheers, keep up the brilliant content.
I really enjoy your playing. It is so tasty and alive with feeling. I truly appreciate your use of real amps. I am curious. How do you feel about modeled and profiled amps? I saw a Sweetwater video of the UA Lion and the sound that comes out that pedal in that video of Marshalls sounds really good. Could you please give me some of your insight?
I run mine the same way and then use several different OD's and sometimes even a fuzz to boost it from there. I find when you run the preamp at 8 or above, it makes the tone much warmer. I don't know how some folks can keep the preamp on a JCM800 at Noon and get good tones. To me, the amp is too harsh and toothy with the preamp that low. Great tone and playing. Thanks for this and all of your videos. They're excellent.
ist das der vom Hansi dujmic ich weis nur dass meisten in den roten marshall jcm 800 cabinets die celetion g12-65 oder die noch selteneren celestion g12m-70 eingebaut wurden.
