@@vehcor Just browsing the ads for similar Civics and found half a dozen seemingly nice ones under 200,000 miles in the $3-4,000 range that don't need an engine.

“Seemingly nice” 😂 once upon a time I had to deal with buyers that said the same thing. I told them, go buy those cars. Guess what, they came back to buy mine, because it was the best value, not the best price. It brought me great joy to inform them that in the hours they had wasted, I sold the car if I had or that they learned a lesson and bought mine. I’m not sure what needing an engine has to do with anything. It is irrelevant unless you are just trying to find a reason devalue the car to try and make your assumption correct. I also find it funny that you don’t trust the buyer (I don’t blame you) but you do trust the sellers. You have a lot to learn. 😂

What I hate is when people do what scott did, then the recipient goes and sells it at a profit. I "know" it's theirs to do with what they will but that's just wrong. There was a group who spent $80,000 bringing a syrian family to my area. Got them a house rental, furniture, clothing, all sorts of stuff. The family moved here, stayed 2 months, sold everything and moved to Montreal. The thing that burned me more was there was a young couple who both worked at a local mill that closed down, they both lost their well paying jobs, got crappier jobs, had to move and needed $1000 for last month's rent. The wife could go to a shelter but the husband was sol...not welcome at the inn so she stayed with him in their car. I said to the group funding the syrians: why don't you slip them the $1000 of the $100,000 you raised? NOOOOOOOOOO
