If you are interested in owning this Honda Civic follow the rules in the last video: • I am going to take a b... Today we will install the engine from our 400,000 mile parts car. We did find a nice surprise; the engine does not have 400,000 miles on it. We did find some other pats that need to be replaced while we were working on the engine. Hopefully it runs so we can stop pushing it around by the end of this video.

You’re not wrong when it comes to installing an engine harness in the vehicle. I did it this past summer in a F-150 5.0. The crank sensor at the very back of the engine was the bane of my existence😂 This is an amazing series. Truly hope the right person/organization gets this car.

Scott I can see this isn't your first rodeo with a Honda Civic! I have done starters on both the Civic & the Accord with the engine installed and they are a bit of a pain especially if all you have are two little ramps to drive the front of the car up on. I couldn't stretch out my arms very well to get at things but I got the job done! You are doing an outstanding thing to help out someone who really needs a car! I hope they appreciate what you are doing for them!

I have to say, I was totally intimidated when taking the wiring harness off my GEN V LT!. But then, I'd never worked on a modern motor. Learning the secrets to the locks helped. I got a custom harness from SPEARTECH that was modified for my particular installation. It plugged right in and practically laid itself out on the engine. Now I'll have to remove it to fish it through the firewall when I blow the truck apart for body and paint. (37 Chev Pickup). The engine fired on the first bump of the starter but didn't stay running until the fuel made it from the fuel tank.

While I'm not a "clean freak", I would take the opportunity while the engine is out of the car to power wash the engine and engine bay. If not for looks, it would help you so you're not covered with grease all the time. But I'm guessing you have had more experience than I do (have not done an engine swap yet), so I'll defer to the master.

I have changed the engine mounts, coil packs, spark plugs, clean the throttle body, etc. All parts were OEM. There are a few posts which suggest its a design problem where the engine idles at a lower RPM and cannot be fixed. It's not that bad but just annoying.

@@Jonathan11225 True, there was a porosity issue with some of the aluminum castings. Small fractures could form around the engine mounts causing leaks in the coolant jackets. Not all of them had this issue though and most were already warranty replaced by Honda. The R18 is overall an amazing piece of engineering. Excellent HP/TQ and Fuel economy for a 1.8L.
