I do think its funny how everyone forgets that a delorean had the same issue and started instructing people to use steel wool when you see something like this.
I don’t think it looks futuristic. I think it looks like what someone from the 1950s thought would look futuristic. But in 2024, it just looks ridiculous.
Lots of cars have decorative pedal covers. You just aren’t aware of them because they don’t fall off. The tell that Tesla has doofus engineering is that it was deisgned to taper so it could wrap around the pedal and slide on and no one though to mold in a plastic or metal snap catch so the thing could not slide right back off. They used glue. On something subjected to shear stresses from your rubber soled shoes.

Thank you. You know what that reminds me of? As a kid, I was not allowed to ride a mini bike on the street, or even put a tiny motor on my beach cruiser. That was NOT ALLOWED!!!!! Today, you can have an electric bike that does 35 miles an hour, twice what those things would do, and that is perfectly fine, even riding in the bike lane with them. Because it's an EV! The madness never ends.
@@ToyKingWonder "can have an electric bike that does 35 miles an hour" are NOT legal, but like kids back in the day with mini bikes and home built motor bikes, they did it anyway.
All those sharp edges would be a big red flag for me. It isn't that difficult to get rid of that sharp edge, I honestly don't know why they didn't sand down those edges to protect their customers other than lack of quality standards. And stainless steel isn't actually stainless, it's just more resistant to rusting. So you should probably not drive it in the rain, put it through a car wash, or leave it anywhere near a large water source (especially if that source is saltwater).
Checked your channel but didn't find any evidence of your stainless steel manufacturing experience. Please explain how it "isn't that difficult to get rid of that sharp edge" or exactly what tools you would employ to "sand down those edges". Genuinely interested. Please explain.
@@dr0n3droid It's called sanding. You don't need a degree or experience to hold a handheld sander and spend 10 minutes per panel knocking off those sharp edges.
@@anthonyxuereb792 All steel can rust, it depends on the corrosive agent it contacts, either its water, blood or ferric chloride. Stainless steel has some resistance to rust depending of the grade but it's not stain proof. My guess is those panels are made from some low grade stainless with low chromium content or high carbon %.
"Affluenza" is described as: The uncontrollable desire to spend large amounts of money you not have, to buy things you do not need, in order to impress people you do not like. Sufferers are some of the most unhappy and rage-filled people you will ever meet. I'm here in Soeul, Korea, and it is a genuine shame that the vast majority of their amazing cars will NEVER be available in your country. I just posted a bunch of pics of regular Korean SUVs, along with a brand new Cayenne Turbo Coupe, and no one noticed the Porsche, I snuck in there as a ringer. I used to be a Porsche guy, but my next car with be the Genesis GV60, for sure. Even if I have to personally import an LHD model to NZ!
"Everybody wants it" is... a very bold statement to make about the cybertruck. I mean, I would take one for free, but only because I could probably get good money from some poor sucker who cares more about the memes than anything else in life.
As I said on another video, I wouldn't drive it if it were free, I'd have it trailered to the nearest auction because I'd be embarrassed to be seen in it.
I heard the bed has to remain up while driving as the brakes lights etc the license plate cannot be seen to the traffic behind you. There goes the truck element to it.
“As far as the gaps and things it’s pretty good” 😂😂 the panel alignment was off at that rust section and the panel gaps appear to be a consistent width of a river 😂😂 Any car marker with those panel gaps would be laughed at.
@@TheNuzzman - riiiight, so because you Mustang has inconsistent panel gaps, that’s ’normal’ for US vehicles? 🤣 I suggest stick with Jap/Korean/German cars, the. You would understand the attention to detail required for making cars….
I would buy one in a heartbeat everyone that has them makes money on them and when they do start to depreciate I don't think it will be any more than any other new vehicle and most likely less until years down the road when the battery start going bad but all the money you saved in gas evens things out
It can be converted into a large backyard kitchen sink. My oldest car is and S4 with 455hp in white with zero rust at 14 years with 99% original parts including the battery.
I do like it, except for this. But I do like it, except for this. I do like the ride, except for the uncontrolled braking. Sounds like he's trying to convince himself he's not a 'tard.
How do you get type approval with all those corners and hard thin edges, they are not pedestrian friendly given the level of litigation you get in the USA. Also note that just because it’s made of stainless steel it does not mean that it cannot rust, just like cutlery and sinks etc, if you have surface contamination on it long enough the chromium oxide passive layer breaks down and hey presto … rust. Leave it dirty or contaminated long enough an the metal crystals in the surface will fall out leaving pitting on the surface.
Well I guess the only thing I could add is "everybody wants it except me". I'd be curious in a follow-up video if you could show how you clean the inside of that windshield.
Yeah, the DeLorean is mechanically a piece of crap but at least it looks cool and has attained iconic status in film & modern culture. The Cyber Truck seriously looks like it was built from direct reference to a sketch drawn by a 3yr old who was handed a crayon and a piece of cardboard to play with.
You financed it? Wow. I recommended you immediately sell it. Perhaps you can even make a profit if you sell it NOW. You had your fun for a brief time. Hopefully you've learned your lesson.
Ironically, most full-size, top-trim ICE trucks have a video screen/camera in the rear view mirror. They don't need it, but they have it. The cybertruck needs it, but instead of adding this cool piece of tech in an obvious place where people could use it, they put the rear view camera image on the center screen...with the 482 other things that all have to go through that screen. Stupid decision.
Indeed, it looks so damn Cheap to make, no bodycurvs or nothing... Lets hope the " Gaps" are some what better on this one, must be very easy to line up the panels at least xD
Between the Frunk and the Instrument Panel you’ll find the Heat Pump system, a variety of low voltage control systems, safety systems, autopilot and infotainment, the front motor(s), vents and air filtration, and did you say there was air suspension? That takes up space and has a compressor, somewhere. It all adds up!
Maybe if they spent a few extra dollars on a better grade of stainless steel instead of the light show, it wouldn't be rusting. Out where I come from in Arizona, we call this "stupid money".
Stopped twice to charge on a 200 mile trip running 80mph completely empty? What a complete joke of a vehicle. I feel bad for the people who bought these
He said the range was about 200 miles at 80-85 mph. I doubt he waited for the truck to charge completely since charging takes more time as it gets close to 100% full.
So you waited 5 years for this product, paid 40k more than you were told you had to, it has rust on it already and the customer service at the "dealer" was rude? What the fuck...
I know, for $100+k, I’d expect the red carpet laid out for me. I can’t believe people are paying that much for so little. It’s the most basic looking interior I’ve ever seen.
@@Chris-cb9ln No, Elon did. When it first was announced he told us the Cybertruck would have a 500 mile range and cost $60,000. I’m an Elon Musk supporter but he flat out lied about those numbers.
Do Not try the self driving mode. Seen cybertruck owners around here nearly running people down like in a movie. You are going to run into random carts in the parking lot, into trees and poles, bikes, and possibly pedestrians. Bad news. And don't accidentally get your fingers caught in the truck or hood or door.
you cant go self driving mode. it doesnt exist for this product yet. interesting you've seen people nearly mowed down by something that doesnt exist yet.
@@GudieveNing Absolutely correct, no FSD in Cybertruck yet. But if he can't find something bad to say he will simply make it up! But weirdkitty07 is correct in one thing, slamming the door on your finger in a Cybertruck would hurt, unlike slamming the door on your finger in any other car!
Actually, as a pick-up driver for the past thirty+ years, I am greatly offended by referring to this thing as a "truck". I can't imagine anyone would really put dirt, gravel, manure, lumber, etc into it.
Elon Musk is a snake oil salesman. In order to get gullible fools to buy this POS he had to change the definition of "truck". You & your truck are now considered dinosaurs therefor all dinosaurs are obsolete. I'd challenge anyone to a head to head match up between their brand new CyberJunk and a 20 year old Ford F250. Towing, payload capacity, off road capability etc. People will complain that it's not a fair comparison but I say if you're going to call that abortion a truck it better perform like a real one.
I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first supercar. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns.
you don't need that much, as long as you have 250k to 350k in cash, and earn at least 40k plus is fine. It not like you are going to pay the car off, get the car, drive it for a year or two then get something else. You don't need millions of money to enjoy nice things. You just deploy a small amount of income to have some fun. Remember you are going to get this money back ( a good percentage) when you move it.
The best advice that i learned from Manny Koshbin is don't buy a Super or Hyper car until you have 10 times the price of it in your Bank account, when you purchase a Super car you add a car to your garage but u add also maintenance and unexpected damages that can happen in future
It's awesome, different new and exciting. The bland mobiles that populate our roads are tiresome. Everything is white, silver, grey or black. Yawn, the cybertrucks is a cool new vehicle.
@@bodysuitguyamen to this. Finally a car company does a futuristic car and all these sticks in the mud want their boring f150 blah blah jeez guys where your inner boy that used to dream cool stuff like this was made
They didn't want you to have it brand new in freezing weather. You'll see why in about 6 months - when everything can be blamed on you because it's been "working fine" until you got your hands on it.
I love how happy people are with a p.o.s. truck with huge quality issues, but if this was any other company it would be "look at how bad this is, why would anyone buy it." The mental gymnastics are amazing.
304 SS and above does not rust. Now you may have a rust stain on the outside of the SS. For example go purchase some steel wool put it in your SS sink at home wait 2 days. Then tell me what happens. Did your SS sink rust or has it been stained by the steel wool?
LOL. Yes Stainless Steel rusts. Putting stainless steels in alkaline or acidic conditions they can and do rust. It's stainLESS not stain proof. If the chromium oxide layer doesn't get a chance to reform it can lead to corrosion. In this case I'd willing to bet there were iron oxides that have built on in that area and have allowed corrosion to pass through the chromium oxide barrier. It's not unfixable, but definitely annoying.
Wow, that delivery experience for a $100,000 truck is beyond belief. The fact that they were scheduling deliveries 1 or 2 every 30 minutes is your red flag about how little Tesla must care these days about the customer experience.

@@JustinSeara If they even struggle to give a Hoovie a new cybertruck (and I imagine high profile RU-vidrs get better treatment than the average person, for publicity reasons) Imagine the issues you would have with their staff when you try to get it repaired under warranty.
given the propensity for tesla vehicles (especially this one) to break, it's real brave of them to do this gymnastics stuff with the frunk, mirrors, windows and lights lmao
This is what I don't understand. Any other manufacturers, this sort of quality would be unacceptable, especially at this proce point. When are people going to start holding Tesla accountable. They are quick and literally nothing else. Their tech is way behind, their quality is beyond a joke, and the design is just different and nothing else. These vehicles are one the level of the Mitsubishi Mirage. Such crap.
...have you met the fans of Tesla? Listen to any of them, and you'll know exactly why "Super genius Musk can do no wrong", these people are as bad as flat earthers.
Steady now. I'm in the UK and many years ago owned a first generation Mitsubishi Colt (Mirage in the US) and it was both practical and reliable. Plus, I could easily get spare parts from a Mitsubishi main dealer for very reasonable cost even though it was going on fifteen years old. Will anyone be able to say the same for a Cybertruck? I agree with your main point though: everyone seems to expect a low level of quality and willfully ignore it because it has a Tesla badge nailed on the front of it.
@@danielkim1527 take it down a notch dude. I can certainly afford a cyber truck and I agree with that Ryan guy, this thing is ugly as sin and the Build quality for the price point is fucking absurd.

Yep, it's only interesting because it looks weird... But the novelty has certainly worn off. I think sales will drop off once the people who bought them for the hype start selling them and the market is flooded. Like the H2, it was super hyped up when it came out, and then no one cares about it a few years later.
Most people don’t understand stainless steel, stainless steel doesn’t rust unless it has surface contamination such as ferrous metal dust from another source lands on it, this will start to permanently mark the stainless steel. But separately, stainless steel will tarnish, this is just the stainless steel dulling over time due to other surface contamination but is not actually damaging the metal, stainless steel hand railings and boat fitting will tarnish, this can easily be polished out. Bottom line, everyone who has one of these truck should accept that you will be doing a lot of polishing every day with wax to stop it tarnishing, just because it’s stainless steel doesn’t mean you can be lazy about looking after its appearance.
Stainless steel can rust it depends on the grade. The softer the stainless generally the more corrosion resistant, Hard stainless can develop surface rust but won't rust through like iron or steel.
Tfl channel did a towing test with one of these 84 miles of range with a trailer😂 They ran alongside a diesel towing an identical load and when refueling the diesel took 5 minutes and was 10 dollars cheaper than the 1hour 40 minutes recharge 😂
My stainless-steel knives have rust on them sometimes... it's not the stainless rusting, it's other metal or material contaminating it. A Scotch Bright pad makes it go away. Whereas parts made from regular steel rust through and you can't buff it out. Also, my experience with getting my Model Y was great and yours with getting the CT is not typical just for some context. It's a new product and it's not fully ramped yet.
Gosh that is really concerning and a potential safefy issue not being shown how to operate a vehicle before driving off the lot. How does it rust if the material is the same as a space ship?
@14:53 "...but as far as people making fun of the gaps and things, they're actually pretty good; everything looks well lined up on this truck...". Rewind a couple of minutes earlier (and also at the very beginning just seven seconds into the video) when Hoovie is zooming-in to point out the rust patch on the edge of the fender panel, and we clearly see that the edge of the fender he is highlighting out is alarmingly out of vertical alignment by at least 1/8" with the corresponding edge of the A-pillar it runs up to.
It looks like a gull-wing aluminium checkerplate toolbox. Like........WTF did they design it that way? Is there even any cargo space in there somewhere? It tortures my eyes. 💩🙈
I saw another video where they were able to grate carrots on the side of the door and then cut them by closing the frunk on them. I can't imagine how so much injury potential isn't going to be an issue. It's really unbelievable how badly this thing is designed.
@@plmn93 all those sharp corners and edges... just wait until the lawsuits start flying from something like a kid needing 20 stitches in their forehead after they accidentally bumped into that razor sharp back corner of your cyberdump while toodling down the sidewalk. It's not just the terrible design, but coming from the guy who self proclaimed to know more about manufacturing than anyone in human history, the build quality is absolutely embarrassing. The car is an absolute joke.
