That sound stupid. What if you live in a different state from the stylist lol. If someone can’t do the stylist, they should say so. I braid. If someone shows me a picture, I let them know I can or can’t pull it off. That goes for anything. Designer, decorator, cake maker. If you can’t do it. Say so

I'm licensed and I understand. I normally do my own braids after combing my loc out 10yrs ago. I think she did a great job and I'm sure it took a minute to really understand the hairstyle you really wanted. I'm old school so I do not like more than one person working on my hair. I have gotten better therefore I will allow someone else to help with braiding the ends. I'm sure the price was very little compared to what you pay at home.❤

I think your hair came out pretty, it doesn't look bad but in comparison to your friend's hair and your original reference photo I can see the differences. I just recently got my hair done in goddess locs (that's what the hairdresser called this style but it has many different names it seems.) and I didn't get exactly what I was expecting. Kinda worse than your situation because some of the locs were done quite poorly, started separating at the ends on some. I love the style but would probably either go somewhere else, or maybe attempt myself. In end though always gotta support all these hard-working hairdressers cause braiding and other protective styles are extremely tedious and tiring to do.

I like the fact that they bother to wash the hair first. American shops I've used don't wash hair in spite of the fact that the style is left in for 4 - 6 weeks. I actually use a hairnet and shampoo over it because I can't stand dirty hair. In my neck of the woods, many braiders are Francophone Africans and carry on speaking in French like they prefer not to talk to their English-speaking clients.

1. History: Fufuo/fufu means mash or mix in Twi language of the Akan ethnicity in Ghana. Fufuo/fufu is a specific staple food for the Akan ethnic groups in southern part of Ghana 🇬🇭 and Ivory Coast, West Africa. Fufuo (also means white and derived from the white color of the cassava/fufu is soft doughy and made out of a mixture of boiled cassava mix with plantains or coco yams pounded together in a mortar (waduro) with a pestle (woma) unique to the Akans and only eaten with liquid soups such as, Light soup(nkrakra soup usually from garden eggs, aubergines, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers), palm nut soup, Groundnut/peanut soup, Abun abun (green vegetable soup usually from Nkontomire leaves), werewere soup, akatoa (agushi) soup with meats, fishes, snails, crabs, mushrooms and okro (nkruma) on the side. Fufuo/fufu is usually served in Asanka (an earthware bowl; black or red in color). Yum yum 😋😋😋🇬🇭🇬🇭 Authentic Fufuo/fufu ⬇️ 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PQIa0V9L-PE.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--YRv5agXQjU.html Fufuo/fufu is celebrated every with Fufuo/fufu party by the Akan news mediums in Ghana 🇬🇭 every year. The adulterated fufu powder sold in the Ghanaian markets in the western countries is what has caused this confusion and now everyone wants to call every doughy food fufu, even the Nigerian pounded yam and akpu (which is bankye mmore/agbelema/fermented cassava), Amala (Kokonte), Eba (Gari Fufuo), semolina, cabbage dough with Egusi stew [Palava sauce (Nkontomire mixed with Akatoa (Agushi) stew or only Akatoa (Agushi) stew] and Okra stews are now being called Fufu by Nigerians in recent times and it is sabotaging the authentic Ghana Fufuo/fufu and making the name popular and trending internationally in USA because of their large numbers which is wrong. Whenever you visit Ghana 🇬🇭 ask for Fufuo/fufu chop bars (Fufuo/fufu restaurants) and you will be surprised that it's all over in Ghana. Authentic Ghana Fufuo/fufu preparation ⬇️ 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ro7-6AYftkw.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i_nMyOSvMf8.html 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WYfFQa6b7eA.html This is the Fufuo/fufu powder that has been confusing people and a box of authentic Ghana Fufu powder is actually captioned in the video. ⬇️ 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SszPhlmWDJE.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rWPeYMeql8k.html 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z_XeI7n3aj8.html In the depth of a typical Akan region you will hear Fufuo mostly but when Ghanaian businesses men processed the authentic Fufuo/fufu into powdered cassava/plantains /coco yam Fufu powder years ago and sold in markets in America, Canada, Europe, UK and and most western countries because they couldn't pound the Fufu in the mortar with the pestle in those white countries as it's very noisy when pounding they shortened it to be Fufu because fufu in Twi means marsh or mix and eg. is saying in Twi "fufu 3to or fufu Gari Foto", and because of the Fufu powder it became popular among Africans and parts of the Caribbean. So most West and Central Africans started calling almost every powdered doughy food Fufu. If you are younger or haven't lived in abroad for a long time you wouldn't even think about the origin of Fufu because the new generations don't necessarily care to know their history much. Hope you researched more on how and why when you see every Fufu powder both in Ghana and abroad, you will see it's a Ghanaian product. If you are an Akan, but you are younger or haven't lived in abroad for a long time you wouldn't even think about why it's called both Fufuo/fufu in Ghana because it's been part of you since the day you are born or you maybe younger and just don't know the history. I am an Akan and it makes me proud when other people eat my staple food Fufuo/fufu with the liquid soups in the right way but to sabotage and replace it with other doughy foods simply because it looks similar is unacceptable. We must learn to give credit to the origination of our foods, our inventions and also give credit to other people's foods and inventions accordingly to give respect to our heritage. That's why there's plagiarism. Fufuo/fufu is a specific stable food for the Akan ethnic groups in ♥️ Ghana 🇬🇭 and Ivory Coast. *** 2. watch this video ⬇️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CLeI7TAGe4Q.html of a Nigerian man lying through his teeth and claiming that Pona yams comes from Nigeria on the Channels Television, a Nigerian news media which is wrong because he gave false information to the Nigerian public because Pona yams are grown only in Ghana 🇬🇭. Hsir is great no two braiders braid the same... You should find braider of the pictures style and go them 🔥🔥🔥🔥.. The top of your wasn't perfect but it was good and the if someone can see the top of your head and has complaints, have them pay for better braids

The quality isn’t what I’m used to but that isn’t a Ghana thing, that has to do with that individual braider because I’ve seen other Ghana braiders do top notch braids. And it looks nothing like the picture. When I show a stylist a picture and they can’t do it, I always ask them to be honest and let me know. I do hair to. If I can’t pull it off, I let them know. It’s not ugly though and I’m sure the prices were nice so I wouldn’t be too pissed.

The braids are nice but I think she wasnt good at parting plus she needed to use a jam.or something so it would be neater

She did a great job, be grateful because I know what it's like to have a poorly done hairstyle and it will never look like this one they did for you.

I see where ur coming from. I would of been a bit upset. First of all, the way she positioned her fingers when braiding didn't look like it would have been a tight and close hold to your scalp, hence the braid starting so far. I braid hair too so I knew from that clip it was not going to be as perfect as you might have expected. And yes from a far it looked nice but I would have made her braid them again as well especially if your paying for them. But, it was nice of you to support small businesses in Ghana.

The single braids were good....however the cornrows were questionable...slipping at best and how she was braiding them from a side as opposed to being over the braid signaled trouble oh

Sometimes I am about 30 minutes late for my appointment but my hairdresser has been doing my hair for over 30 years she's been doing my hair and my daughter's hair my daughter has went to school with her children my hairdresser name is Crystal my daughter name is Crystal but I tip my hairdresser very well and a lot of times she always tells me that's too much that's too much and I tell her you waited on me when I call you to do my hair you never tell me no even if she have to squeeze me in between other appointments she still do it so I make sure I tip her very well I almost double what my hair will cost to get done so I make sure she is okay when I leave her chair and any style that I get it fits me I can wear almost any hairstyle and my hair stylist is very good at what she does

At first I was like she is definitely overreacting it’s not that bad but compared to your friends hair omg it was so mediocre. 🤣 like her hair definitely woke me up. I still think yours is cute but as far as quality goes you did not get the full experience of what was expected.

The ppl saying that there was nothing wrong with the braids are definitely blind. I definitely see where you’re coming from. The start off of the braids aren’t right. It looks the hair wasn’t gripped right and it started sliding back. Now the parting I feel is cool and down the braids are really nice and neat. Your friends braids were CRISP 🔥🔥🔥. Your braids I would give like a 7.2maybe 7.5. Your friends braids I would give 10+.
