why did this have to turn out to be the coolest deck ever when itll never be printed, the fact that earth zombie union synchro worked, especially with how it was made, is astounding
I have been designing cards lately for a custom archetype, just as an exercise into understanding card design, and man you can learn so much from doing that. It really makes you appreciate the fundamentals of the game and just how damn hard it actually is to design cards that are powerful, somewhat unique and still fair. I think more players should try to make custom cards.
The first archetype I made could devolve into Turn 0 Appo turbo, but at least you need to use the archetype's links to actually get damage in (unless you somehow spam quick effect burns or some shit)
I only just realized: is the archetype "lifeless" because it's an exquisite corpse? (Which is the name for those writing/drawing projects where each person makes one part of it, if you were wondering.)
Could you maybe link to the participating content creators? I only know like 4 of them and it's a bit of a hassle to find them like this, but I'd really like to
I had this idea last year about an “Archetype” which is just 2 Main Deck Monsters (except 1 is a Ritual) that revolves around a Dark Fairy Lv 12 Tuner that Flips Summon Methods on their heads. “Kalamitous” I called it and each Extra Deck (And Singular Ritual) Monster is a new form of the Main Deck monster representing a Corrupted Abridging of the Summon Method. So far I only got Main Deck, Synchro and Xyz. The struggle came with Naming the cards funnily enough. Dissonant (Synchro) Discordant (Xyz)
Im still waiting for my Cubic Link 1 that fetches a cubic from deck and foolishes one cubic card. Thats literally all they could ever need, but konami said no.
This was great, not only did you show that Konami could make union monsters viable but also that Zombies only need a little more support to become relevant. Well done.
Maybe it's just because I catch the meme review streams every week, but Peeps and Danny's version of Tiger having the Master Duel Meta meme review in the background is VERY funny to me Good video Skarlon :)
I think if you do smth like this its best to do generic stuff or tiny engined rather than archetypes. it takes so much effort to learn real archetypes, tossing a bunch of new things at people makes them exhausted
yeah, I was really excited to just see random funny/cool cards made by content creators, but instead i got an entire archetype profile/tutorial for an archetype that doesn't exist. this idea has so much potential though
saving this video for later. funny enough, i always wanted to see a tourney where ygo content creators would use custom achetypes made by themselves... i guess this is the closest thing to it im ever gonna get.
I kind of want this to be real I love zombie synchro so this is right up my alley just make some unique cars art for the frog cards, expand it a bit and get sone better names for the II’s and were golden
Add a token generator and you may have something solid here. The ability to swarm the field is fitting with modern plays, and the levels can jive with some XYZ summons.
I need some custom cards that will cause ruling nightmares. Remember Pyro Clock of Destiny, I think it's called? The -1 to Final Countdown? Or Mischief of the Time Goddess? How about a card that reads, "Immediately end this turn, then it is this player's turn again. Can only be used in Main Phase 1". And to complement it, 2 more cards. 1, "extend all duration counters by 1" (like gold sarc, swords of revealing light, reckless greed, anything that counts once every turn) and 2, "reduce all duration counters by 1"
I was really interested until it was said that they had to make something for a custom archetype that already has a defined concept, instead of whatever they want or at least their entirely own archetype. The way it is in this video there will be pretty much 0% of their personality in them and I lost all interest. It's like saying "I made MBT draw a circle." Man, he sure drew a circle. Not something most people would have done the exact same way or anything, right?
