I'm sorry I just find it hilarious that the FIRST thing connor says about Wendy's is "Are they cutting corners?" When their motto is LITERALLY "We don't cut corners" cause of the square patties.
True. Didn't go for the Dave's Classic. Then Burger King could have possibly redeemed themselves. Personally I love a good BK sandwich. Their Baconator knockoff I think is better than the original.
I love how the drive-through voice comms are always playing in the ears of the workers and you just roll up to Jack in the Box saying 'that looks fucking disgusting!' haha too good
As a brit who goes to the states fairly often, the best burger place you have is Culvers. Also the reason Connor thought root beer tastes like medicine is because we use the main ingredient in root beer (Wintergreen) as the main flavour in our cough medicine.
We did the same thing to a Welsh guy who came to field research with us. Root beer is just too sweet for others. Plus mug isn't as evenly toned as other brands.
@@Trxxvv hes from wales, which is already a different accent to what u think of a british accent. Hes also a voice actor, who changed his voice to annunciate everything clearly
God, it’s SO true what Ludwig said about Wendy’s. It’s ALWAYS at least about a 7/10 experience, but when the planets align and you get PEAK Wendy’s food, it’s TRANSCENDENT.
Maybe I have a bad Wendy's or something. Their burgers are alright, but their chicken nuggets are nasty unless they are spicy (but they rarely have the spicy ones)
You don’t live near a trash Wendy’s with bad managers/owners. Wendy’s can drop to a 3, good Wendy’s is the best fast food imo but the one near my college is ass cabbage.
Oh I've had a different experience. Since the 90s my issue with Wendy's is that the quality is all over the place. I would say usually it's between 3 - 7 but it can vary as much as 0-8.5.
Lucky . Lost a good wendys to construction but got another good one. Staff recognize our voices. 85 percent it tastes great . Ever once awhile get bad shift
like when they drive past that line for Keshi, and Connors just like I fkn love Keshi and people just look at him like what?. Btw did you know Wendy's is fresh never frozen. Loved how many times they called back that quote throughout the stream.
Pissed that Connor just barely dodged the early Wendy’s fries. They JUST started making good fries. Literally bottom tier fries to high tier. He’ll never know what we went through.
@@dylanvickers7953 now their slogan is “ask for our new hot and crispy fries!” Y’all really admitting the old ones were the worst huh? 😂 like I’m gonna say “nah, nah, gimme the old burnt, cold ones”
Fun fact that you probably don't know, the microphone is always on for fast food drive throughs, so even when the orderer stops talking, the person who is taking the order can still hear what you say through a rolled up window. I've had a lot of insults thrown my way cause people don't know.
As long as the car is over the sensor that notifies the employees a car is there, the microphone is on, at least when I worked at Starbucks. You can hear EVERYTHING in the car. When Connor was judging the food, I just know the employees could hear.
@@T.Yen1557 nah fast food workers don't give a shit. some of them probably don't like the place they work very much either. Source: i am a fast food worker
I love how casually they share the food especially Lud like biting from the same item and so on I know a lot of people that think thats gross even after years of friendship
I wouldn't say most people. Most people I know seem comfortable eating or drinking from the same things as others. I'm the odd man out though. Even if I just started dating a girl, the idea of drinking from the same cup/glass isn't appealing to me.
@@Jeevzsk its not like theyre literally making love to whatever burger or sumn that theyre eating. Like slobbering with saliva. Just bite it with your teeth and its no big deal
I love how they said they were gonna try to keep the orders as similar as possible to eliminate bias, and then completely threw that out the window immediately LOL. Though I think this is a fair method of ranking, you get the iconic item from each location. Fun video nonetheless, just went off script.
@@dgtsch6z765 the chili isn’t rlly bad or anything we use the burger meat and it just kinda sits in there for a long time and gets kinda old. It stays hot tho so its not gonna kill u… idk why people always say to not eat the chili.
I really want him to take Ludwig to the UK to taste loads of different chips (from chippies/pubs etc) as I've always been disappointed by US fries/chips. I think it would blow his mind
I had a similar experience but the other way around. Lived in America all my life, but I lived in Germany for a few years and was in the UK for a month for my job and I think the best fry I had was a 6/10 from a wing place in Cambridge (can’t remember the name now as it’s been a few months). I think it’s because I’m used to salty fries and they were definitely not as salted across the pond.
The issue with Wendy's s that a good location is amazing but a bad location is absolutely awful. In-n-Out is just a clean consistent fresh burger IMO which is why I personally like them best
Most of the wendys in my area are awful so I've never liked them that much. Honestly I've never gotten fries from wendys that actually tasted fresh so I guess its just about the store variance.
i dont know what i ordered but i went to wendy's once by my dad's house and i swear it felt like i was eating dog food, meanwhile i actually genuinely like burger king and jack in the box lol. wendy's has good frosties though. (jack in the box i get a double jack no cheese + jalapeno peppers and put the peppers in the burger, it's great. the ultimate is probably not so good to be fair)
The most tragic thing about moving was learning that the only Wendy's in my area is one of the lowest-rated locations I've ever seen. Went from my favorite fast-food chain to my least favorite (locally).
You have no idea the sheer number of times my Wendy's has gotten my sandwiches wrong. Even when they show up on the order screen correctly, I'll get like sausage biscuits instead of a bacon egg classic. I'm nearing double digits
In-n-out is ass. Their fries are just bad and the burger is awful. They do have good prices though I’ll give them that. But you’d expect a shit place to have good prices
Yeah I hated when lud did that with tacobell and all the food was like 1 hr old. The crunchy tacos had turned to soft tacos and the soft tacos had turned to crunchy tacos.
@@bochapman1058 you are taking it too literal. Nothing too fancy is more of a saying and for fast food standards then yes, double patties and bacon is pretty fancy compared to the cheeseburger they were planning to order. And while yes technically it is a cheeseburger if you asked anyone they would say a bacon cheeseburger or even a double bacon cheeseburger. Even if you don't agree with me on the previous statements you have to admit that getting a baconator makes the competition unfair.
@@yes1525 A cheeseburger with bacon is not fancy. If that’s what you consider fancy at all you really need to check Spend a little extra money and try a real restaurant.
@@A_000 You wonder what would happen if Connor brought Chris (Abroad in Japan) to meet Ludwig in the US. Or Connor invited Ludwig and QTCinderella to Japan to meet Chris for a "Super-size Wacky Weekend" with Shizuka as guest. Maybe Lud and QT see "Japanese Hamburgers."
feel like the "forced a british man" is a bit clickbaity given this is a British man who said dominos is better than Italian flatbread lol. He's at least 50% American at that point.
This video has reminded me that I need to try a Baconator. I haven't been to a Wendy's in too long, and it's pretty much my perfect burger setup. I'm a simple man, meat, cheese, bun. Sauce is optional, bacon is optional. Not a big fan of mayo though. There's a place here in Albuquerque called Ironwood Kitchen, and it has my absolute favorite burger and fries of all time. Shit is QUALITY. 100% chuck patty, fresh potatoes, toasted buns, cheese isn't that waxy shit you get at so many places. That cannot be beat. We also have Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. Still tastes like fast food, but so much better than any other one I've tried. It's like a smashburger in that it's flat and wide, but you get two and it's perfect. CRISPY edges, great meat, and thin crispy fries. Definitely my second favorite.
"Why's there security at a Burger King?" Dude hasn't been back to the UK in a while, has he lol. All Maccies in the UK seem to have security now, the places are just ferrel.
Exactly lol and he was saying “ it tastes like a cafeteria burger with those patties” - no one here says school Cafeteria or patties ?!?! His accent was also very Americanised, doubt he’s been back to Blighty in years!
@@Yunglex313 negative Ghostrider, probably same time as shake shack. I traveled a lot as a musician and it wasn’t that bad of a wait, it was definitely a little longer though.
they looking at the pictures on the menu going "it looks VILE it looks soooo gross" homie it looks like a burger every picture of a burger you have seen thus far looks the exact same
I'm hoping they have a Trash Taste episode with Ludwig since all the boys are in LA for Anime Expo. Next best would The Yard with Connor as a guest. Who knows, we might get both. Needless to say I'm very excited about the collab opportunities
@@Ultra_64 Even better, a two-part Super Special "Wacky Weekend" with Chris and Shizuka in the US with Connor joining with Ludwig and QT for part one, and the action taking place in Tokyo for part 2 (including the "Abroad in Japan" ramen shop studio, and maybe seeing Japanese Burgers.).
The reason joey thinks in and out is over rated is because here in Australia we have burgers from our fish and chip take away shops that are very similar/ the same
True. If you want a normal tasty burger here in Oz you just go down to a hole in the wall fish and chip store and get a plain burger, though im also one of those people who actually loves the beetroot on my burg also which i hear not everyone does.
As someone that lives in LA, In n Out is quite mediocre. Also Ludwig is exactly right, the fries are terrible. You have to get them animal style because you don't actually want to taste the fries lmao
@Grant Oberhauser not like they don’t know how to make fries just more of a commitment maybe they did it to make animal style more profitable but I heard it’s from a different oil it taste alight just not super crunchy or addictive McDs as for credibility Gordon and Anthony both said In-N-Out must eat or favorite fast food burger
I’ve had in and out a few times and honestly the only good thing about in and out is how cheap it is. Very mid burger and terrible fries. Whataburger is so much better
I've never in my life been to an in and out so when Ludwig said "double double animal style" like it was the most casual thing I FELT British. Like I forgot the pledge and everything
I love BK fries, they just need to be fresh. A little thicker than the typical fry, crispy outside, fluffy inside. You can ask for fresh fries at pretty much any fast food place, btw. The Whopper is what it is. Neither good nor bad. Ordering it with mayo packets so you can add more to your taste helps. It might be the only "classic favorite" in this video. Everything else seemed like a current favorite.
Question, why did they not get curly fries at Jack-In-the-box? They are practically the same as Arby's. Not that I care about the place, but lets be fair guys
I'd be curious to see Connor's take on a more expensive, traditional root beer. I grew up with it, so I like the sickly sweet root beer, but I know there are a lot of artisanal brands that do a much sharper root beer that's more spicy and ginger forward.
Give a European some American root beer and they will say it's the most disgusting thing they have ever had. Every time I have a german friend come over they pick out root beer going "oh non-alcoholic beer" then realize that's just a disgusting sugary drink. It's not that it's necessarily awful its just that it betrays their expectation every time without fail.
I kinda feel like you have to grow up drinking it in order to appreciate it. I don't think I've ever heard of someone discovering root beer as an adult and liking it lol.
Went to Jack in the Box, but didn't get curly fries. Didn't get the Sourdough Jack, which is by far their more interesting and longstanding burger offering. I would've also recommended comparing chicken nugget offerings.
The sourdough jack is definitely their best burger. The sourdough grilled chicken club was even better imo, but it has sadly been discontinued recently.
Mc'donnalds in Sweden is pretty good compared to most of the world. They actually have done similar to Wendys, fresh not frozen on certain burgers like the Doubble QP cheese. They also made high end burgers for an affordable price in a colab with a Famous Chef Jureskog.
Glad to see people finally appreciating wendies more, they have so much good shit. Five guys if you went there would have topped this list easily though
As a Californian, I honestly just skipped to the Inn and Out review. You did good Connor. Now I can slowly put down my pitchfork just case you ranked it low
Lived in Cali for 7 years, and have never had a high ranked In-n-out burger. It's a decent burger for a good price, and that's about it. Far from one of the best burgers in Cali.
In-n-Out has nothing on Burger Time, to be honest. Went to visit my brother when he was in Vegas and he took me to In-n-Out just so I could say I'd be there, and the burger was alright with the fries being an affront to nature.
As a californian, in N out lovers that say shit like this is why I have a primordial instinct to hate in n out. also the fries are actually just cold mcdonalds fries
Not a fan of Jack in the Crack either, but it's that one spot that's open in those weird hours. Definitely the place for the hungover, night crawlers, and those who wake up with the munchies at 2 in the morning. They open first. Close last. Plenty of them are 24/7 (drive thru only). That's how they've survived this long.
I tried Fatburger once in Tahoe on a 200 mile trip which took over 13 hours. A standard burger combo was like $16 and it was bland as hell. It was like Burger King quality with Five Guys price
To any Americans confused by Connor calling some of the fries chips, the general rule in Britain is that if it's thick, it's a chip and if it's thin, it's a fry. Might be confusing, but that rule is hard coded into our brains because it just makes sense to us 😂
i love that they rated Fatburger highly, I grew up loving them for the mustard flavor. And I also just get normal fries (they call them “skinny”) because I don’t like their “fat fries” either lmao
I feel like I can come back to this video any time I'm having trouble with my diet. Watching these boys choke down that many greasy burgers just deletes my appetite.
Sad thing about Wendy’s is that sometimes its hit or miss with the locations. South of my city I had the best wendys baconator, couple years later another wendys, basically cardbord
when i was visiting russia as a child, i practically lived on burger king and raspberries. it's been years since i've been to burger king and i don't remember the taste- i wouldn't be surprised if they are terrible.
I know at every in-n-out there is the guy that takes the orders, but I swear it is the SAME guy EVERY SINGLE TIME, even when I go to a different location. I love nowhere near California and this guy is STILL taking orders there. A real king right there
