We're not there though lol and I agree about the warning light but I've seen those fail to light lol.

I hear you man. When I was in HS and college I bought a 18 year old rusty Honda Prelude for $400. Then in college I bought a $1200 15 year old Toyota Supra. Each time I spent few hundred dollars to fix up those hoopties a bit and good to go for a long while. Had many memories. I drove a $70k and wish I can fine a nice one of those hoopties I had.

Actually, i've had new cars, i have a truck... i love my - well, it's not even rusty - little beater. In 20 years that i've had it, i had to have the steering replaced because of a leak. I live in Germany, which is not so far away from Sweden, as Mike will know, and she won't believe it, these cars are still pretty common. Okay, more clean and with more power in some cases, but it's totally ok. AND manual... no automatic. :D

That is a FACT!!! I blew the motor on my fancy infiniti , and i had to buy an old buick lesabre (its clean though) fuckin car drives like a dream, just regular gas and oil changes and it glides on the road no issues, no dumb sensors, no expensive parts, just pure reliability, these engines were so reliable GM had to stop making them becauze they would lat 300k miles easily, ill never sell it

That was awesome! 😂🤣 Man, I think everyone should start with a crappy car Make you appreciate things more And yes, I started with crap A red 1978 Ford Econoline van that has wooden shims holding the windows up (there were tons of problems but too many to list haha) Dad payed $350 for it I hated Clifford (i has to name it haha) it but honestly that was the best thing he could have ever done I saved up $700 and bought a 1987 Buick Century and thought that was amazing compared to that Dad knew when you start at the bottom and work your way up you learn so much more than starting with something nice That you dad Miss you (And glad your dad is doing well Mike!) I still have my beater truck. 21 years I've had it. Ugly, dirty, and it smells like farts. But it keeps on trucking. Yeah, I want something newer but I haven't had a payment in 18 years and don't really want one. I could pay cash but, I can find better ways to use my funds.

Some people buy these cars on purpose...If you buy the right one, they're super reliable (90's cars from japan are bullit proof) and not only that...They're paid for, no monthly payments for years and years... They cost less then the amount you loose in deprecieation in the 1st year on a new car alone .Insurance is cheaper..Parts are cheaper. You dont have to worry about it getting dirty or scratched. You can eat and drink inside without a care. You can put stuff in it without caring if its gonna wreck anything.. you can park it anywhere and if someone wacks it with their door or a shopping cart, so what.. Etc etc I paid $500 for my honda that has over 300,000 on it, and ive put 10,000 on it in 6 months and theres nothing wrong with it, all i have to do is put gas in it... So laugh all you want at people that drive 'beaters'.. Cause lots of us are actually secretly laughing at all of you, while we sit in our paid off vehicle, as you go to work just to make payments on your new shiny car that does nothing but loose value as you pay it off.

@@thegreatwhitenorth8754 I paid 19,000 dollars for 120,000 miles TCO with a 20 year old beater. No way my truck will get anywhere near these figures. You change the oil for 30 dollars every year and the timing belt for 150 dollars every six or ten years and they're good to go. As long as you look for fluid levels and take a little care of it, it will save many many days.

I have a beat up 99 f150 sitting in my driveway that just sits there, once in a while I'll use it to haul dirt or rock or car parts, I have a nice supercrew that I don't beat up. My daughter gets embarrassed of that truck wants me to get rid of it but I get some good laughs from that hideous truck and some good use out of it. It was a three hundred dollar truck that cost me $50.00 to fix, 15 mins during the first drive in that truck someone ran a stop sign and hit me in front of two cops. Insurance paid $2k in damages for that truck so it's been worth keeping it. She hits it with her bike and says "oh well" 😂

Seems your battery isn't getting charged, or isn't holding a charge. How long was the actual driving tine just then? 20 mins or so should have been enough on top of the momentary boost it got when you first started it that day, to at least have it re-starting till the next day. Best hooptie I ever had was a 1973 Mercedes 220 diesel. I only gave a hundred bucks for it, but I put a lot of miles on it over the next couple of years including some multi-state road trips. It was one of my favorite cars ever.

You should invest in a battery pack. I've got a small one called the Genius Boost GB40. It can fit in the glove compartment of any vehicle, can jump maybe 5-6 vehicles before needing to recharge and only costs like $100 (bigger versions go for more). It's a nice little thing to have for all your vehicles should the battery crap out on you in the middle of nowhere.

Wow. It's funny how the universe works. I just had to resort to buying this same exact car last week for $800. A Chevy prizm? One of the most humbling experiences in my life! I try to always remain thankful and know that there are so many people even less fortunate then I am. After watching your wife and seeing her reaction to something she doesn't even have to own or drive lol comical. Nice how something like this is funny to one but real life to another person. Having respect and understanding can go a longggggg way!

I mean I’d rather have a 500 good quality Chevy prizm with that Toyota engine 1.8L it’s peppy and very good gas mileage . It will outlast any of those raptors or fords plus parts for that prizm are cheap it’s a good car I’ve had one before now I have a geo prizm but it’s as tough as bullets tho it’s almost at 200 k miles :)

I know what she means about feeling crappy inside a smelly old car....I had a car that wreaked like cigarettes and my current ex-police 2004 Crown Vic smells musty and stale. Sometimes those smells and being in a dirty car just turn your stomach.

The hooptie is a luxury car compared to my first vehicle. My first was a 71 chevy pickup with a 250 straight 6, rusted out floor ( you could see the road in the hole where the seat belt used to be), doors from a red truck, hood from a blue truck, bed from who knows what colored truck, and 2 bolts holding the bed down (I added the second bolt after the bed almost came off over railroad tracks), and was painted with cheap, black primer. I had it for 3 years and it took me to work every day without fail. The hooptie may be a piece but it could potentially go longer than some newer cars...unless you kill it with an experiment. :) ;)

Your wife is really gorgeous and a good sport too. I'm surprised she actually drove it. Pretty funny. Shampoo the inside and get a cheap battery from Wally world, fix the door and hood latches... all probably less than $150 and a few hours of your time.

Hi I have a 2002 Suzuki wagon r with 52k miles and it’s similar but everything works and it starts when you want it to. I have this car because i don’t like modern cars and it’s not as if I can’t afford them I want to actually drive the car as shown when she said no backup camera it proves how reliant people are on these driver aids my car doesn’t have backup cameras or sensors or satnav I have nothing against this video I’m making a point
