I really liked that movie And BTW Nitrous or in nerd's language: nitrous-oxide is called laughing gas as well. So what would've happened with Turbo in the movie is that he first gets sucked into the engine (the filters are stolen or idk), gets cooked alive while inhaling the gas and liquid nitrous and just drowns before becoming a cooked snail à la France
Turbo is one of the movies/shows where I enjoy it but later in life I found out no one else likes it, the good dinosaur was the movie where I was dumbfounded that people didn’t like it
there's gotta be people out there who like turbo. if you actually watch it it's genuinely hilarious. like yea it's a dumb concept but it's actually so well done
My nephew watched that movie on repeat for literally 2 months. Everytime I came over to watch him, he was watching Turbo on repeat. It was the only movie he would watch and it was awful and mind numbing 😂
I fortunately didn't have to watch Turbo more than once...but I was volunteered without even being consulted first to watch a stranger-to-me's six year old girl every single day for two months, and all she wanted to do was watch Frozen and the fifth Ice Age movie and then Frozen again. Every day. Back to back. For two months. Also I already don't like kids, so that didn't help.
Back when I was too young to have a phone or any free access to the internet, all I had to entertain myself was the movie Robots on my PSP. I watched it almost every night for half a year. Yet I never grew tired of it. So idk how old your nephew is but he might be in the same situation. (though now as an adult I realize it was probably just me having an hyperfixation)
They made a cartoon based on this and it was idk because I watched it as a 12 year old who didn’t understand personality, story, characterisation, or much of anything
Turbo is a good movie, Epic is a good movie Deconstructing the writing process and plot of a children movie is kinda silly anyways. Especially one that they did this good with. Animation is solid, story is good, the characters are lovable and relatable. I mean, the core of the movie is essentially follow your dreams and never let anyone or anything stop you.
i love you but imma need you to watch epic now so you can see how good it is. i haven’t watched it in a few years but its so nostalgic and even when i got older i never thought it was cringer than i remember or actually not as good its just good.
Not gonna lie Epic was good for me when I was a kid. People crap on it so hard but I genuinely enjoyed the animation style and the concept of plant people. Maybe that's just me and my plant obsession but I loved that movie and probably would still enjoy a rewatch today.
Exactly what I felt about the movie! I grew up on it as well, it was good fuel for the imagination, imagining yourself in the shoes of the characters around all that greenery and action was just plain fun, kid me ate it up. Of course my favorite was ferngully, which was way higher in quality, but honestly kid me would've been just as fine with Epic. *Though furngully had a rapping bat and a sexy voiced oily Villain, that's other older taste.* ❤
@@catkilled absolutely! I wish the son and father had more time to make his death impactful. They weren’t villains meant to be sympathetic but i feel it would have humanized them that little bit more. I don’t hate the comedic aspect of it all, and it was a really funny movie honestly! But I do wish there was more building on the villain side. Like the scene with the queen! I loved her! The short amount of time spent with her she is so charming my and charismatic that her death hurts! Wish they’d done a bit more with the villains but honestly the other familial bonds in the movie were really sweet and fleshed out so I can’t complain too badly. I enjoyed the movie upon rewatching btw.
There's just something so funny about the main antagonist having beef with a snail. An actual SNAIL, one of the slowest moving creatures to ever exist. (Yes, ik i said bug originally, stop whining about it.)
Not to mention that Turbo has not won any race or even raced with Guy yet. While I get that Guy is meant to be a petty villain, it's just funny that he beefed with a snail he JUST MET just because he can zoom fast. All this for a "never meet your hero" scene.
The final scene of him getting beaten up by an old lady legit got me laughing. Especially when they pull her off of him, she's all, "Don't touch me! I'm a lady!!!".
Say all you want about this movie, but you can't deny how wholesome and inspiring the tight-knit human community was in this movie. I genuinely don't know what to call it other than that, but the taco guy and his friends are all that a family should be.
If it's unrelated friends that are very close or maybe no one has parents or something you'd call that "found family" trope. Honestly one of my fav tropes.
yea, I really love how they got this cast of very diverse people, is so cool. I used to love this movie, I have in DVD and I honestly like better than a lot of disney movies
there was a girl on deviantart who’d constantly try to commission me and do art trades with me with her OC hooking up with Guy Gagne. i was like 14 and she was like 25 💀 it was bizarre. like i get having fictional crushes or whatever but it was just weird how obsessed she was 😭
I can totally relate to this movie. I had a dream I could fly, then one day I got sucked into a jet engine, and magically came out the other end with abilities to fly like a jet plane, so, yeah, totally relatable.
I feel called out, i Love Turbo and Cars and Epic and Planes, all those movies i enjoyed very much and have seen multiple times during my childhood (im 21 now) I even watched all the extras for turbo and there was a short video where an artist was talking about how he came up with the snail designs and i felt inspired and sketched my own racecar snails, it was awesome. And Epic, dont get me started at how moving and wholesome it is, single father gets reunited with his daughter im crying and then she falls in love with a tiny man while two snails make stupid jokes, i love it so much.
in another universe Turbo got sprayed with Nitrous and the movie completely shifted to Turbo dealing with his Nitrous addiction as he tried to find out where the Nitrous came from to get more and learns that it's a colony of snails who're used like hamsters on wheels to make energy to create the Nitrous, only for it to be a bad ending as he was captured and forced to do the same work, eventually dying from Nitrous withdraws.
Whats crazy is what would have better worked with the message of the movie would have been if turbo was an inventor and transformed his shell himself to make him go faster kinda like what the other snails did but have his actully work. It also would have fit better with the car theme lol
Right? I remember at one point the brother reminded him that he in fact not a race-car so winning the Indy 500 was physically impossible and the movie completely ignored it.
Here in Indiana, every year before the Indy 500, there's a festival/street fair in Downtown Indianapolis called the Indy 500 Fest. There's a beauty pageant, a mini marathon, food trucks, and some neat photo-ops, among other fun things I can't remember. So anyway, I remember the year Turbo was released there were Movie Posters plastered all over the place. That is what I will always remember this movie for. That and the Netflix cartoon with its pretty fun tie-in mobile game.
This movie is part of my childhood. At that time, my sister went to study abroad so she left me her laptop. In that laptop, there was 2 movie downloaded: Epic and Turbo. I also started sleeping alone, afraid of the dark so I sometimes opened these movies, placed the laptop on the bed, and watched them until I fall asleep. Maybe it's just my bias but I found these movies really enjoyable.❤
i watched this movie in theatres and my jaw DROPPED during the "that snail is fast" montage. i'll never forget it. the whole movie is worth it just for that bit
I have you on my tv and I'm looking at the weather on my phone. All of a sudden I hear you talking about "butt pkugs" and making motor sounds😂😂😂my head snapped up toward the TV I'm like "whoa whoa wtf?' I thought you were talking snaiks that can't go fast"😂😂😂😂😂
6:01 I think Disney got the idea for a twist villain like Ernesto De La Cruz from this race car driver guy in Turbo. There’s even a scene like this in Coco where Miguel is looking at a tv and pretending that Ernesto is talking through the screen to him. In Turbo the bad guy says, “No dream too big, no dreamer too small.” In Coco the bad guy says, “Seize your moment.” It’s become a classic trope at this point, making a villain appear like the good guy, even making him or her someone to look up to or idolize, then making him or her reveal his or her true colors near the climax of the story to throw the audience off.
Mee tooo just got off the phone with my Dr telling me “good news test say nothing is wrong” oh well guess I’m crazy! My pain and dysfunction just 🌈ImagiNation 🌈
Turbo also has a 3 season Netflix series along with a bunch of other dreamworks properties. All Hail King Julien is a bit of a hidden gem if you ask me.
I'm sorry but you don't know about epic????? Please do a review on it. I didn't love it, but it's pretty good and can imagine a good movie review from you but idk
I actually really like this movie for whatever reason. Yes the concept is stupid but I love the movie cars and this came out when I was itching for a cars fix and couldn’t get it from Disney so I settled for this dumb movie.
can you plz do the new mean girls movie plzzzz (like if u want him to do it). I saw it but i feel like it had to much songs i was scared they would focus on songs to much.
You should watch Epic. I've seen it twice and thinking back on it.... I literally can't remember anything about it other than it reminded me of FernGully
There are 2 things that really bother me about this movie 1. The fact that they think it's cool to repeatedly play that same "Wow! That snail is fast!" clip OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Seriously, it gets EXTREMELY ANNOYING! Heck, they even remix it into one of the credits songs! 2. The villain is just about one of the dumbest Dreamworks villains ever.
My testimony: After being an atheist for 8+ years, and "married" to another female, I got the urge one day to say out loud "IF there is an Almighty God that does NOT wish us pain or sorrow, please bring me truth, I wish to know you exist". Then God immediately started bringing me the answers I had been searching 8-11 YEARS for! I witnessed Him take control of my internet and the rest of my reality; He first proved to me that demons exist (I called them "inter-dimensional beings"), then He proved His own existence, which I later found to be Jesus Christ. As soon as I found Jesus at the end of 2020, He IMMEDIATELY took away my transgenderism, bisexuality, depression, daily suicide attempts, self harm, bulimia and anorexia; and He did this all without me asking Him to, because THAT'S how merciful and loving He is! Praise God!❤ No, I'm not lying or trolling, and I'm not a robot. 1/30/2024
If you jump high enough, you're bound to hit ur head on somethin. Stop thinkink so big. Ur r limited. Just order that door dash half cold McDonald's and accept ur reality. Piss in the toilet, not the wind. And i love ps2 vry cool hit me up if you wanna play svr 2007 online
For some reason this concept feels more ridiculous than Starkid’s Starship musical. which is about a bug who wants to be a human and become a starship ranger- It’s like little mermaid, but in space. Somehow Turbo is more forgettable, I just realized I watched this film in theater-
After years, I finally watched Sing the other day and it was surprisingly good. So I watched Sing 2 and it was surprisingly bad. The story was so ridiculous and somehow made a bunch of nonsensical bs. to be "the right thing to do"... I was outraged. I'd love to see you make a video on this one day.
