I think Salubra's dialogue text hinting at Overcharmed is much fairer reasoning.

This video is insane. I expected the editing and story telling to be high quality at the start, then for it to get lazy, just becoming an assortment of long clips, vaguely outlining what happened. I never expected a full hour and 20 minutes of well written, well edited content. Huge props man, your work is not going unnoticed

The fact that I knew exactly why it was 22 hours-

This video makes me very happy because it made me realise that i am not actually bad at fighting bosses, the 33rd guy probably trained on fighting radiance 2.0 and didnt do that much of everything else.

I remember a 2,5 hour video-documentary on the history of "the hobbit 2003" speedruns by MKarma, which I still consider the best speedrun documentary, maybe just the best documentary on RU-vid, and one of my favourite videos ever. So this video is very similar in concept, coming probably, could I say... 2nd best ?) Nah, jokes aside, I can't compare as such. While the guy talking about the annoying “5+ screens full of enemies” to get back to a boss is definitely over exaggerating, he does have a point. Some bosses like Hive Knight or Soul Master do have unnecessarily long walks back to them after dying. Those 2 bosses are also coincidentally in areas with some of the most obnoxious enemies in the game (I absolutely despise Soul Twisters fuck those guys).

The longest I ever spent fighting Hornet was first playthrough Sentinel, and she took 2 weeks (on-and-off) and a limit break for me to realize Sprintmaster is your friend.

This is extremely impressive. Loved seeing all the developements made during the competition and the editing. Though I would like to say that the person likely did not have such a competition to take inspiration from as I don't believe someone would take that long on Hornet Protector while knowing exactly what they were supposed to do, so while the competition itself was pretty cool for the purposes of making this very entertaining video, it might not have been the kind of ressource the subject of the video was aware of/using. All that may also apply to shade skipping to Celubra and Quick Cast. Also if we're saying that they have everything they can get at that point in the game, they can get another Mask by 1. Killing Brooding Mawlek 2. Shade/Vengefly pogoing up into the platforming segment in Crossroads leading to another Mask Shard 3. Rescuing Sly and buying both of the ones he has without the Key. This would result in timeloss because you can't reach Fury as easily, but it would've made the fight easier for the usual player. All that being said, still a great video!

i just started playing hollow knight, i think its a fantastic game. it took my 3 hours of total gameplay to, without knowing anything about the gameplay, go from start to killing hornet. the person who left that review... i don’t know what to say man

Funny enough, you proved yourself even better by fighting Hornet in Godhome. All bosses there have more HP, since you're expected to have the Pure Nail and other items by that point so Hornet wouldn't simply die from 10 hits just because she's an early-game boss.

Why do people rate this game the way they do? I have a full 119 hours on my main save file and still haven't gotten everything! The atmosphere is GORGIOUS, and the music is the type of music that my ears DO NOT deserve to hear (Though I'm glad I can!). And the lore is vast! With so much variation in enemies, friends, bosses, and the map itself! It's not just a bunch of blue, dark, rocky roads, because the first map you play in is literally many pathways to other areas. It's not supposed to have a lot to it (Forgotten crossroads at least). There is character in everything, and the world feels alive. If you rate this game a low number because of Forgotten Crossroads but you never explored, that is just stupid.

It took you less than an hour to beat Hornet, and he clearly stated he was playing the game casually, so no hard mods, no necessary for challenge retries, and no Shrub, which you cannot relate to.

The diss towards hiveblood damn, it was the only reason I beat the Traitor Lord hahaha
