Do you guys recommend that I finish the DLCs before the main story or after? Or does it not matter at all? Thank you for all your kind comments on the series so far!!
It really doesn't matter in the grand scheme, in fact there is even dialogue that changes based on your progress in the main story, like for spoiler light example, one of the Nuka-World characters will comment on your decision at the end of the main quest, something they can't do if you haven't finished it. Also, based on your progression and choices in the main game side quests, there is also hidden dialogue throughout the DLCs! Not to mention, the Nuka-World DLC is tough at level 30 when it first unlocks.
First time playing, I’d definitely recommend finishing the main story first. The DLC enemies scale up with you, and they’re always going to be tougher to handle than most of what you find in the Commonwealth. Having at least the arsenal you’ll have accumulated while working on the main story, plus what you’re learning about game mechanics and such will really help you with managing the baddies in the DLCs! I’d also recommend spending time to maxing all companion affinity, and completing their stories. You can grab all manner of cool perks from them! 😊
I'm legitimately embarrassed to admit how many hours I've sunk into this game. That being said I've never finished it, but I have finished all of the DLCs. P.S. I always wanted my secret agent name to be Loot Monkey.
For the big DLCs (Nuka World, Far Harbor) there are a lot of quests involved. Nothing wrong with going in and checking stuff out. No harm taking your time with them. But being at a higher level with better perks & weapons will make some of the deeper quests a little more easier.
I really hope you'll keep uploading and finish the game and dlc. I'm really loving your playthrough. It's so refreshing watching the game being new for someone.
The weakness of the ghouls are their legs. When you amputate 1 of their legs they fall and are incapacitated giving plenty of time to safely finish them.
Oh yes the fridge kid. I played this game several times and when I saw that small flashback scene in the show, I immediately knew what they did there. 😅 I liked it.
Deacon spies on the sole survivor throughout the game. He’s sometimes disguised as a guard. Last time, I stole all of his stuff and he didn’t even care lmao.
Most of the time you can backup out of dialog (in case of attacks, put on Charisma Gear, etc). You can Almost always get back into dialog, a couple minutes after combat ends. The Deliverer is the best shot/Action point cost pistol in the base game. You can shoot Everyone.
Fridge Boy is actually a reference to the Indiana Jones movie where he hides in a fridge to escape a nuclear blast. Also back in the day a lot of kids did get locked in fridges because they had the heavy handles that latched shut, and couldn't be opened from the inside... Also, someone gave you a sniper rifle...
Just a playtip: Every time you go to the Railroad HQ check in with Tinker Tom. He is their mad scientist guy. Great things for sale, sometimes he has new things he didn't have last time. Always worth a look. Your settlements look pretty nice. I get lazy and just use a row of "hallways ends" and toss beds in. But they don't mind. If you're bad at watching your health bar, there are armor mods that will automatically use a stimpack on you when you get low.
I liked the barns as it's quick and easy to build a floor on them and they look decent. Also I built higher wall, so if you are as a settlement during an attack the do help. There is a mod for auto closing doors. A few turrets help for defence, and I think the missile turrets can damage your settlers if they get in to way, or splash damage etc.
@@Cheepchipsable I have given up on missile turrets because of that. Heavy Lasers work fine and don't kill your settlers. I have a mod that lets you stack floor pieces with supports. I put them 2 or 3 high, and run a ladder to the top to make defense towers. A couple of turrets up there can cover a big area.
Putting on the sunglasses for a disguise at night. Emma just being one of those cool people who wear sunglasses day or night. Should have busted out the bee sunglasses for the occasion. 🤣 🐝
You have an explosive shotgun? I hate you already! :P Current playthrough I'm lvl 48 or so and nothing explosive yet, sadly. Suggestion- instead of aiming directly at the enemies with it, aim for the legs- that way every pellet hits them or the ground under them and they eat the explosion damage from all of them. Its more lethal that way, and even if they survive they have no legs and are an easy finish. Deathclaw hand is used to make a good melee weapon. Deathclaw meat is a very good food ingredient. Nice stuff in the Starlight and Sanctuary. :) Its a reference to the Indiana Jones movie where he hides in a fridge to survive a nuclear test. :P
Is that the exploding shotgun??? I've been looking for that bastard forever. The exploding combat rifle and exploding 10mm Pistol are two of my all time favorite weapons. Keep upgrading it until you can't anymore and work on maxing out Demolition Expert. You'll be able to use that beautiful peace the rest of the game.
the funny thing is you can skip the whole mechanist fight, there is another way in, it does require some hacking skill, but you just end up talking to her. i usually do the fight anyway for all that loot. :) it is impressive how many different ways you can do things in this game.... you can even NOT talk to codsworth when you leave the vault in the beginning and come back later, the conversation changes based on what you have done. or never rescue preston until you have done everything else, get all the settlements to follow YOU. (you just can't do the "old guns" mission) tho Ada always acts like she had no idea what happened with the mechanist, even tho she was there!
You might want to learn to shoot from cover. Also, you can build an industrial water purifier anywhere there is standing or running water, like the pond at the Starlight and the river at Sanctuary. :)
you can make your own robot (automatron) if made with the mr handy thruster instead of legs (like codsworth), and very good weapons / armor for a really great companion that actually moves if you push them out of the way, doesn't make so many annoying comments about what you loot and hicks butt. they can even carry a BUNCH of stuff for you as well. but again, use each companion until you unlock their "friend" perk, hopefully you had codsworth's for this mission, it helps against robots.. and preston's helps anytime you fight 3 or more enemies, piper's just gives more xp. also ALWAYS loot robot repair kits, they weigh nothing... same with folders, 'burnt magazines' ammo and napkins. (oddly even cannon balls weigh zero) improve your guns at a weapon bench!!! a scope makes a great difference in accuracy, more damage, less wasted ammo. the head of the robot is NOT a weak spot.. if anything shoot the legs, or power core.
The deathclaw in the hospital would have probably been brought in by the raiders, probably as a pup (not as dangerous). Then they drop people into the pit. Can you show the crowd what you are getting for Legendary drops? Most are uselss, yes, but you might accidently overlook something good and no one will be able to let you know. Edit to add: I think there is a mod to disable the Idiot Savant sound.
Missing screws? Take a level in scrapper. The Deliverer fully upgraded is better in every way than a 10mm. Since a shotgun is a short to medium range weapon stealth is your friend. Yes Deathclaw skin can make leather armour. Doing Nuka World before the Minuteman missions has it's advantages. The other DLC have no real effect on anything. When I first played I did not know fences were a waste of stuff too. There is a shortcut and easy way to the Mechanist but you need at least 3 levels in hacking. So it's not a low level route.
@@ShesEmma Do you have the recycle stations at each settlement. Can't recall their name but you assign a settler to them and they scrounge for resources when you are away.
35:36 lol Deacon is disguised as Sturges from the Minutemen group 😂 Just a heads up, the dialogue was really hard to hear over the background music. Usually it’s not difficult, so maybe recently you adjusted it? Probably fixed now since the YT vids are older than your progress on Twitch 😅
I don't know why I didn't realize he was like Sturges LOL! I noticed the audio too while editing, I've since maxed out the dialogue sound but I'm not sure yet if that helped enough 😅
So a guy killing 1 kid will be convicted and hanged, but someone killing 100rets of people let live because he promised not to kill more.... So why would any killer be convicted if the ones responsible for killing masses of people get out with "good intentions".
