For real. I used to have all earth colors in the tree line and it’s too easy to get missed in a whiteout or fog. Brighter colors are crucial to stand out

The amount of times some random dude has picked up a ski for me when I yard sale or I’ve done the same for someone else is insane. Its like mountain culture to help other people no matter what and I love it
Man ...... I lost my phone my first year and when I went back down to find it it was gone. Somebody stole it 💀 someone at concierge even let me use her phone to use Find my iPhone and it found my phone, but then my phone immediately went offline 😂😭
I've always loved the snowboarders as a skier. SNowboarders have rescued me a few times and have picked up my trail of equipment after a wipeout. That's the beauty of skiing and snowboarding man, we're all friends on the mountain ❤️
I can get quite irritated when snowboarders (mostly) have that giant blind side and cut me off. Sometimes dangerously close to running into each other. I try to let it go and be cool, but I wish people in general would know the rules of the slopes before they go out there.
We’re all friends, until I actually want to go fast and snowboarders keep cutting me off going unnecessarily large swerves and sitting down in groups in the middle of the track 😂
I watched a video very similar to this one a while ago, on the video I commented “wow wish I had more chances to help people out like this.” The next time I went skiing, I heard a little girl crying in the woods. She had crashed and was crying for her mom. I went over there and asked is she needed help and she said yes. I talked to her and calmed her down while I helped her get her skis back on. I slowly helped her out of the woods, planning to go to the bottom of the lift to search for her mom. Right as we made it out of the trees her mom was waiting 20 ft away. Se got overly excited and went too fast on the moguls and fell down yet again, but she was 5ft away from her mom now so I took off. Glad I had the chance to help her out, and it’s interesting how sometimes wishes really do come true.
Two winters ago I was working a chairlift at a small ski area. After my shift, I rode up & on the way down saw a young woman off the trail, 6 ft down in the woods. I climbed down & got her skiis off & helped her climb up & out. Then gave her some encouragement and she made it down OK.
I was swallowed in a ditch last year in vail. It is so scary! Such a helpless feeling. I had to calm myself down and slowly climb out. God bless ya brother
This happened to me in 5th grade on a field trip. I was stuck and lost for about and hour and a half patrol was looking for me but never found me, luckily some snowboarders seen me from the lift and came down and helped me out, or I probly would of froze to death and died shout out those snowboarders.
I was rescued by a group of snowboarders once too! I’m terrible in the snow since I’m from the coast but they were soooooooo f’n cool and made me feel so comfortable while all tangled up and under a ton of snow. They escorted me to the station and offered me some guiding, which I obviously took. Thank you Nate, Francis and Nikos!!!
I love it I use my customer service voice daily, not really good when it comes to talking to customers or interacting with them but I do have really good customer service for the most part, I'm friendly and upbeat and have a really big smile, I just struggle on the small talk.
While doing a solo snow trip in Japan I got stuck in deep powder and tree wells. I was just heading down the mountain to get my gloves that I forgot.. I honestly thought I was going to die.. took me like 2 hours to get out and by the time I did I was pouring with sweat, hands were cold as shit trying to compact the snow to have a base to push out on. Intense, loved it.
Solo, deep pow and tree wells...seriously, people die like that. We even have posters here about it saying you won't get found until spring. Love life not tree wells.
Always ski deep powder in a group. I was at Alta 2 years ago and a skier landed head first in a tree well and suffocated. It happens more often than people realize, you just don’t hear about it.
I live in washington st8 and are slopes have incredibley deep power and small hemlocks and can get swallowed by them it's called a tree well it's dangerous to be alone on a deep power day for shure fell in one before didn't see a tree at all but bord was on a branch and could climb out
@@jtmagx bro your getting triggered over someone even if it is fake showing kindness and care. It can still inspire others to help. Go get a job and stop worrying about what people do on the internet lmao
❄️In conditions like that everyone needs each other to stay vigilant to save lives❣️ Good job sir.❤️🔥You have a warm heart. Perhaps that’s why you enjoy winter sports.❄️
I literally had this same experience in Vail a few months back. I run trees daily and saw a skier who I knew just didn't have the skills to be running tight trees like the ones we were in. I told him the way out and right as I was about to exit i had the instincs to turn around and look for the skier. My gut told me he went down, and his silence was making me weary. I unstrapped and I kept yelling, is there a skier down? A few moments later, I hear help help! I helped this guy get out for 30 minutes in waist deep powder. He had no idea how to get out. Army crawl out of the deep stuff is the easiest way. The kid was so thankful to say the least. Good on this guy for having the sense that someone needed help. This is a total flashback moment!
I got stuck in a hole in Winter Park once. Could not figure out how to get out, my skis were just tangled under me. Bought the snowboarder who dug me out a round for himself and his friends when I caught up with them apres ski. I REALLY appreciated the help!
I’m new at the mountain and I can honestly say you will see humans beings in they’re best form and behavior. I love the energy the mountain brings out in people. So yes if you needed help people are coming to your rescue you can bet your last lift ride on it!
I can believe it- I really honestly am a kind, helpful, empathetic person and if I was the snowboarder I would have been like " Is that a person? I wonder if she might need help...🤔 ... ah, I'm sure she's fine- probably out here wanting to be alone. Best not to disturb her 🏂💨. Love this video- an excellent reminder that it never hurts to ask. The worst thing that could happen, you disturb someone for a few seconds, or maybe look a little fooolish- compared to the possibility that the person really needs help.
How nice is this dude actually. Like...I feel like every video he's just helping people in the most calm and nice way possible :D. Really feelgood stuff^^
This happened to me in Big Sky a few years ago. An old lady was stuck in the powder and it was close to the end of the day. I saw her at the edge of a trail in the powder. I got her out. She said she couldn’t resist the fresh powder and headed for it, only to fall when she reached it. She was lucky that I found her.
I was rescued by a skier when got stuck in deep powpow. I had never snowboarded in deep powder but it looked like so much fun so I dropped in and…sunk. It took the skier an hour to help me down the slope. What a nice man. I felt so bad, and stupid.
I was genuinely happy scrolling through the heartwarming " we need people like you on the mountain " , " thanks for helping, we should all be more like this." Ya know ? like really humanity shit. AND THEN THIS. Had me dying inside , and laughing outside.
This brings back memories of being stuck in deep snow when I was a novice snowboarder in a foreign land. So exhausting just trying to get up which I couldn't and being so deep my perspective was so bad I couldn't see that there was another trail so close to me until someone showed me. Utterly exhausted when I finally worked my way to the trail, that it made the rest of the day a real task and not so enjoyable.
It happened to me but imagine a complete white out with winds picking up and ski patrol shutting down the mountain and me stuck for over an hour until I caught barely a glimpse of someone who didn't see me or hear me. Completely lost. Finally able to dig out and surf out on my stomach until I finally ran into someone who stopped me from going over a cliff out of bounds. Intense day.
Anyone who skis off trail esp in powder needs bright clothing and tie bright string to bindings to help find skis if they separate from boots. The trick is to use skis like a rolling pin to flatten a surface wide enuf to heave up first one then the second boot into the bindings. Can be tricky. Hollering for help beats freezing overnight or getting exhausted.
I’ve been stuck up to my chest in deep pow, not fun trying to get back to the trail. You have to be fit, took me like an hour to make 30 metres… Takes it out of you! You’re a good bloke for going to help her out mate, good shit.
Imagine if it was the last run of the night and she got stuck up there. She could have froze to death. Thank god you went down that trail and saved her life, your a hero.
You rescued a person that is amazing. We all need to be paying attention around us I’ve seen a lot of animal rescue videos to where you just don’t realize someone is nearby you they could use some help.
So just like when I see anyone, but particularly women, walking outside really late at night by themselves or bicyclists riding at night with no lights, wearing all black and say what is that person thinking. This woman: skiing alone, skiing OFF TRAIL and wearing white?!? She was so lucky to be found.
Fell in a tree well last year, it's so exhausting and demoralizing trying to get out and yelling for help as people just fly by. Thanks for being a good human
Bro, your videos are new to me but you are quickly becoming a favorite. You are the shepherd of the mountain for sure! That community is lucky to have you.
I got stuck upside down in a tree well at Copper Mountain, scary shit. I was hanging by my skins and had to use my poles to pop my bindings off, then used my skis to crawl out
I also got stuck upside down in. Tree well. I woke up hanging upside down and was lucky enough to have branches to grab onto so I could get out. I made it off the Fernie Alpine Resort 2 hours after the Hill closed.
Thank you for just helping her out 👍 one time I crashed and I was fine but this old guy stopped to help me up and then gave me unsolicited advice on what to do and kept hanging around when I was putting my skis back on, it was very annoying
I lost a friend in an avalanche, in Alaska at the Arctic Man event. If she had been wearing white the might not have found her body as fast as they did. Be careful.
Hey fellow skiers! If you fall in very deep snow, use your ski poles. Cross them like an X and that way you won't punch through the snow and you can get some purchase to push off of to get up. Try not to immediately take your skis off, you need their platform, and it's harder to put them back on in deep snow. It only took me half of my ski life to figure this out.😂 It works. Snowboarders, I guess you just wiggle until you can pack the snow a bit.😊
man one of the first times i went boarding on a real slope i ended up running off the course and fell backwards into the powder with my head pointing down hill. my board was totally stuck under a ton of powder and i couldn’t move cause the powder was so deep, probably like 12-18 inches on top of me. i had a small panic attack thinking no one was gonna be able to find me and I was gonna be stuck for who knows how long. eventually i calmed down and worked my way out after about 15-20 minutes but that was a very scary experience.
This is happened to me before I didn't need help boy took me awhile to get out of the tree well I got stuck in. Good thing you around to help her snowboarders are good people
Yeah that's good I ski and snowboard and ski sometimes can be a real paint in the ass to get back up on if you fall like her or in some other weird position. Always looke for people that need help on the slopes.
It awesome you got to her and helped. Hopefully more people see this as I've had old skier types that are decked out in ski race type stuff as think that's the luxury stuff, then kind snubs snowboarders, even though our gear is just as much or sometimes more. So seeing stuff like this, will hopefully change how people actually see your average snowboarder as. I can't tell you how many times I've helped people out and even sat with kids that bailed to calm them down. I've stopped middle for people who fell way behind me because of not strong enough of a skier yet, and walked back up the hill to give their skis to them. So videos like this are always awesome because it shows snowboarders in a different light.
This video is FAKE AF, this guy is no hero, just a fraud making a fake rescue video for views and you fell for it. She’s mic’d up in the end and he happens to know she’s a skier even though her bottom half is completely covered in awesome POW!!! And he really tries to sell it by saying he’s going to rescue this “guy” thinking that will add validity to it but it’s totally obvious this was staged
Got stuck to the shoulders in Japan once... screamed my lungs out, no one heard... I was down in what resembled a ridge or stream! I somehow managed to climb a nearby tree, lift my snowboard up, and wave it hoping someone would see it and even then I had to get myself out of it following two fellow snowboarders giving my instructions from up above! It was hell. I didn't know where I got that strength from 😮 It worked! I got lucky 🍀 😅
@@richardcharles1935 but they do, it's snowing in Colorado outside my window and I see one taking shape now. Wait, gotta go he's looking threatening! 😉
@@brandoloudly9457 Wtf are you on about lol? I think you miss understood the comment, it was a joke, because he's a snowboarder and there's bit of old school rivalry between sports. Believe me when I tell you no one give a f if you click don't recommend or block, you won't be missed. You don't need to type it out for everyone to see.
@@bmartin2304 oh you think the lady who stands up on her own was found and stuck in the woods? It’s clickbait at best and even appears to be lazily staged You must have a nice life getting salty over a comment, idiot (see, now we’re both salty idiots)
@@brandoloudly9457 lol, why did you delete your reply? Did you re watch the video and see the part where he helps her up? I just like calling out stupidity. No salt here.
I can’t tell from the video but it seems like her skis failed to release her boots. Make sure before skiing that your skis pop off with moderate pressure. Test them a few times before venturing out. Not too tight not too loose otherwise you will have a hard time getting up once you hit the ground.
Next time you are going through deep snow, lay on your board and swim like a surfer does. I got stuck like that once as a kid and that literally saved my life.
I had to do just that to get out of the ungroomed half pipe at snowbird. It took about 3 hours. I seriously thought I might die. There was nobody else around to help.
I don't think it makes a big difference whether your laying on it or strapped in. The surface area of the board remains the same. The key to getting through deep soft snow is keeping your tip up
What a GREAT man!!! It's so easy to just turn a blind eye and keep going and tell yourself oh someone will stop to help her out but this guy immediately stops and helps her and you can hear how greatful she is that he stopped you can also hear how tired she sounds from trying to get up and also probably calling out for help to people... thank God for this man ❤
Your a hero pal... Great stuff... these gestures are more profound in this day and age... Its people connecting... Seems to be getting a distant thing if the past...
Wow awesome bro good eyes definitely saved her life and you can tell how greatful she was she probably sat there and thought she was a gonner man good job bro
Not gonna lie i started getting into snowboarding Recently and your shorts have been popping up like crazy and I’m not even mad , keep up the entertaining videos and positive attitude
Getting stuck in snow with no leverage is a weird feeling. When you're there long enough you might think, oh okay I guess this is how it ends. It doesn't take long to have that thought. You have to kind of work your way like a baby sea turtle out of it. I'm glad she got some help.
