Hi Clegg. My grandfather was over 90 when he died. He had water works problems for years. Few times a year he would get a infection. He had a catheter fitted. I live abroad and it was like he used to wait for me to visit him twice a year before he got an infection. I can't remember how many times I took him to Yeovil A and E. He was as hard as bloody nails. He used to put the catheter back in himself with no anesthetic!! Best wishes to you and your dad in these hard times that you are going through. Don't panic about the videos we will all still be here. ❤
Hi Cleggy , that's an amazing find and very well put together on the recap of what happened . Now back to you and Dad , hope you get better soon ,that sounds a stinker of a cold !! . A chap who lives not far from me , has regular infections of the urinary tracked ( 79 years young ) in and out of hospital , the doctors have to keep changing the antibiotics to find the best one that works for him . He has always come home so far . So I hope they can find the best one that works for you're Dad , I am confident they will matey 🙏
Craig, this is Tom. UTI is an infection usually caused by an enlarged prostate in older men. Yes, very common. My dad who will be 98 December 14 has had two in the last year. One of these put him in hospital because his blood had become septic. This must be treated with antibiotics and in most cases a catheter to ensure his bladder is emptied completely. There is also a surgical procedure that can help by decreasing the size of the prostate. He should be up and around shortly. It is also important he does not retain fluid. He may be given fluid pills for this. God bless
I will pray for you and your father to return to good health. Take care of yourself. Rest a bit. The coin find is fabulous. I know you will find the roman hoard deeper in the ground. Sending tons of love to you, Cleggy. You deserve some good fortune.
This kind of thing doesn't happen to everyone. You have to be an ardent adventurer and a good spirit. Respect for the environment and good sportsmanship and the gold will come to you.
Keeping you and your dad in my prayers, Cleggy. I just bought a new detector and just need to find places where I can use it here in northern Arizona. Can't wait to get out to break it in. Things will get better for you. So glad you found a Roman road! Cheers!
Hi Clegg, Keep positive mate, I'm 44 years young and i keep getting UTI's, I have had 3 Stroke's now and many other medical problems, So the UTI's has made me pretty seriously ill in hospital too like your dad but the NHS has each time given me antibiotics which they have increased until they have it controlled and then i was allowed home!! So i will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you and if i see you up (The Dog Inn) soon, This is Ben ( a local) keep strong fella!!
The landlady is right,it's common in the older generation, the wife and I were carers too. Showing signs of delirium is normally the first sign of an infection. Hope your dad gets well soon.
Hope you feel better soon cleggy, so you can get in to see your dad . Hope your dad will be better soon! They will get him on antibiotics. Great news about the hoard! 🥇🏅🏆
Best wishes, Cleggy. I agree that it was probably a good thing that your dad fell over, otherwise they wouldn't have done further tests. Hope all goes well for both of you.
Yes, UTI's are very common in the elderly and a bit more in women. Usually if they are well hydrated and get appropriate antibiotic they do well. If he'd been left alone there could have been vascular collapse and even heart attack so good he had relatively timely care....
Had a UTI myself...ouch. It was not fun. Felt like passing razor blades. Antibiotics cleared things up fast. Wasn't fast enough if you know what I mean! :-D
