A buddy of mine found an albino sharp nosed viper in eastern China last year, I think nocturnal albino snakes have a very good chance to survive in the wild.
Wild Albino!!! Thats always a good day!! I spotted a Albino Grackel or Robin in Virginia a few weeks ago & got all excited. Hard to tell exact species on birds when they're all white!! Great find on the corn bro!!
Congrats on the albino corn snake I had one when I was a kid it was like having a little kitten it would eat mice right out of my hand I love corn snakes
Saw an albino squirrel once haha. Thought it was a plastic bag floating around on the road and as my cousin and and I got closer the bag ran off the road and ran up a tree. We both looked at each other like, “damn that was an albino squirrel!”
Awesome find, man! That albino corn snake was absolutely incredible, and to see you found a wild one was even more stunning! Besides that, the quadruple flip and other snakes and the lizards (including the owl and armadillo) were awesome too! Great video!
Not to burst your bubble or anything, but that probably wasn't an albino. Albino red eared sliders are completely white/yellowish, the complete opposite of black
Been on this earth 56+ years - only seen a venomous snake once: baby Eastern Diamondback ( ~ 16 in) in the water right next to the submarine in Kings Bay, Georgia.
The albino corn snake was beautiful. It would be awesome if my box turtles ever had an albino baby. That 5 lined skink definitely looked gravid because that's how mine looked before they laid their eggs. Unfortunately I didn't get any eggs this year because my male died last fall. He was probably old considering I had him for 9 years. I've seen males in the woods near my house but haven't caught a replacement male yet. I keep my skinks outside in a really large Rubbermaid bin with about a foot of topsoil. I have bricks for them to bask on and several hiding places for them but they have a maze of tunnels in the soil. There's also violets and strawberry plants growing in there too. I really like to keep my native pet reptiles outside if at all possible.
I really appreciate all your videos and your genuine love for every creature u come across. I feel your passion man and I’m just happy to know that there’s someone out there like you bringing attentional all these beautiful snake and other reptiles we have in North America. I truly believe your videos make a difference and that a lot of the data you collect will be very useful now and in the future in regards to research and conservation. Just really wanted to say thanks!
We have those redish-orange and white corn snakes in the wild in Michigan. Beautiful snakes. In the 90's, I owned a 14x70 mobile home and 1 of them lived under my mobile home skirting. I had to convince my wife that he was beneficial to allow to live there. She wanted me to kill it. Obviously, I refused.
About 1995 I caught the first Albino Emery’s Rat snake in Kansas. (I was told until then no one had ever seen one). Sold it to a breeder in Michigan. So possible all albino emery’s captive breed came from my capture.
Still sucks u got your stuff stolen Noah. I hope my sub and frequent vid watching helps you get them back. But IPhone vid or not I’m watching. Keep the faith bro
Haha. If we could actually the genes of the animals you show us… you have absolutely found numerous snakes with much more “rare, important, unique” genetics. There’s been a dozen copperheads Ive seen on here that would certainly pass as a color morph if proved out.
Should have kept it rather (albino corn). Not much chance of it reaching adulthood. Nothing to do with camouflage, they are much more sensitive to sun ( even nocturnal snakes sun bake during shedding)
Well consider yourself lucky because where I live the only thing I ever see is garters and chorus frogs!🐸 🐍 but I'm kinda lucky too because I have lived in this area awhile in different houses and I'm lucky I even see these ones!!!
I live in michigan and the only Salamander spiecies I ever see around here our redbacks, one time I found an albino. I love "Just like finding a shiny Pokemon."
I really like those red bellied snakes! I don't even know if we have those where I live in Orlando, FL, but we do have the ring neck snakes. Red rat snakes are common around my house with nearby woodlands.
I live in Douglasville Georgia and this past Summer I had a visit from a 6 foot plus Rat Snake. He or she was way laid back and was in the road in front of my house. I picked him up and moved him into the ivy vines on the side of my yard.
Speaking of people getting bitten by the unnoticed venomous snake, I sort of dread that it will happen to you eventually - - I've seen you in habitat with copperheads everywhere in the leaf litter, including ones you didn't notice immediately, and you mostly seem to wear normal shoes or even sandals when herping, so getting tagged is a real possibility. It might make a good video to describe the precautions you take to prevent getting bitten, and the contingency plans you have in place in case you do. That would be a good PSA-type video for all your fellow herpers. I definitely don't want to check RU-vid and see a video titled IT FINALLY HAPPENED! with your channel ID on it.
I wouldn’t ever expect an albino corn snake in the wild, although it is a possible thing. After all, all hobby morphs came from wild mutations. I don’t contest that this particular snake has been born in the wild, and apparently it is very lucky to have reached adult size without being eaten. But why are you rolling out captive corn snakes completely? Even if they are illegal in this state, couldn’t someone just drive over the border to get one? After all I don’t think that it is a top priority of police to look out for illegal common snakes.
Because of where the snake was found. The odds of someone acquiring or successfully breeding a clutch of albino corn snakes in a state where it’s illegal, driving them out to a remote road and letting babies go, and that road just happens to be one that I frequent but no one knows I frequent? The odds of the albino gene popping up in the wild are way higher than the odds of someone coincidentally releasing an albino in the middle of nowhere AND then me finding it.
I’ve been an amateur snake hunter for over 30 years and I live just northwest of Atlanta. I would love to either go with you or take you on a hunt. I have 650+ acres we could hunt that have rattlesnakes , copperheads and more
