You should tie the bucket around your waist with a leash or something. Make it long enough that you can still use it, but that way you know it won't float away when you're showing the camera everything youve found!
So much fun running into you that day! Thank you for sharing your find and your excitement with my wife and I! Hopefully we'll see you again in the spring!
That amethyst is a stunner. Also my birthstone. Years ago, while camping in southwestern Maine, my older bro and I used to go rock hunting at the many abandoned mines open to the public. We'd stop in at Perham's Maine Mineral Store at Trapp Corners for maps and advice, then head out. Always hoped to find some watermelon tourmaline, but no luck. Bit too old at 71 to go bushwacking and mountain scrambling, but I do have the memories.
I've watched this video three times because your happiness is so contagious. 😂 The excitement and laughter I just so genuine.❤ glad you had such a successful hunt 🎉
I miss it there so much! Gosh is Lake Superior spectacular. I haven't been there in about 20 years now. I grew up in Wisconsin but I moved out West. I have every intention of getting back there as soon as I can! Gitche Gumee, Big Sea Water!
Watching you get so excited about your finds is totally giving me life this morning!! I know nothing about agates or rocks in general, but I’ve become a huge fan of your videos and could watch you hunt and cut these beauties all day long! Can’t wait to see you cut into some of these! 🩶
Haven't watched a video in quite some time, but your happiness is just contagious it feels like I'm out hunting side by side with you! Thanks for all the videos of rockhounding Lake superior.
Glad you got back to the lake! Amethyst is incredible! And agates oh my goodness! Thanks for helping me cure my rock picking itch a little when I can't get up to the lake. I was waiting for this one keep them coming 👍
I have found a tiny amethyst, yours is over the top. At first glance I thought an amethyst rose! I enjoy that you are so animated. I understand, you make me smile.
Taylor when I lived in MN we took a trip up the north shore to Superior Ontario and visited an amethyst mine. Really cool. That rock may have traveled a long way!😊
Tip: Put a string on your bucket and tie it to yourself/belt or whatever, then you do`nt have to worry that the bucket shall slide away. That Amethyst was great. I think it is the first time I have seen someone find an Amethyst around that lake🤩🤔👍👍Good finds.
Hi Taylor, love your videos and have watched them all! In puddingstone land here. Advice for the floating bucket - tie a small rope to the handle. Easier to retrieve when it starts floating away.
I love how excited you get. I have a suggestion about your bucket. Carabiners and cord. Attach one end to the bucket and the other to yourself. No more wandering Wilson.
You're too funny, my family thought I was the only one who got that (silly) excited while rock hounding 😂 I just love watching your adventures!😎✔ "Bobby" from Rock Bottom💥
That was such an amazing hunt! That amethyst was awesome! And so big! And all those nodules! The mary elken jasoers were so beautiful, especially that funky one! What a just, amazing day! You just killed it out there! Thanks Taylor!
My husband graduated university with a degree in geology...I've been talking about this channel and one other one, he is impressed that I know about certain "rocks" because I never took an interest when he was in school 30+ yrs ago. Now I need a rock saw, tumbler and money to travel. lol
⭐️⭐️⭐️ tie a string to your bucket handle and tie the other side to your belt loop then your bucket won’t float away‼️‼️👍🏻👍🏻. The bucket idea is awesome ‼️‼️
Love watching your content! A friend shared this video earlier today. It’s her birth stone. Must have been good luck! I found an agate loaded with Amethyst. Probably the best I’ve found so far. Thank you!
I have a amethyst skip-atom and this year I found a amethyst agate of somekind, I haven't polished the most recent one though! Anyway, that amethyst piece you just found is awesome!!! Congrats!
Love your Superior hunt for agates, etc! And I’m jealous, as I only found 3 very small agates there this summer. I definitely need waders;) Just an FYI about your opening comments - none of the Great Lakes (not even Superior) have tides, as such. Too small to notice. However, storms and winds cause larger waves, and can contribute to “seiche,” somewhat similar to the sloshing in a bathtub, and that can be about a foot of change at times.
GRATZ on the amethyst! What a beautiful stone and what a gorgeous day! You must be going nuts with this wonderful winter we are having here in Minnesota! Love your channel! Keep 'em coming❤😊 4.8.24...I rewatched your video today and when you pulled that amethyst out of the lake 😮 I got full body chills! And I've already seen this video!😅😂❤ Its such a joy to watch! Thanks again for sharing😊❤
You might get a retractable coil or even a dog leash with the loop around the handle then you can clip the leash to your belt loop, it would keep your bucket from floating to far off and you could pull it back to you.
My Mom brought me amethysts from the mines in Thunder Bay, Ontario ..you can go there and get pieces of beautiful amethyst so maybe some washed out into Lake Superior or its part of the same vein.
