Another thing you might have missed: In Halloween (1978) when Laurie, Lindsey, and Tommy are walking around the table with the jack o' lantern, Tommy attempts to scare Lindsey by saying "He's gonna getcha! 😈" Lyndsey responds with "No he's not 🤨" In this trilogy Lindsey lives, Tommy doesn't. He in fact didn't get her.
@@Welshman336I'm not sure why it's a link? It doesn't show for me 🤔. It probably doesn't qualify, but it's just something that I noticed and thought it was cool
44:58 a factor to why Paul Rudd couldn't return was due to commitments on Ghostbusters Afterlife, which forced him to decline the invitation, and happily passed the torch to Anthony Michael Hall, but even Paul Rudd himself wanted to be in Kills with friendly relations with David Gordon Green
Wow this has to be the most comprehensive deep dive into the Halloween 2018 timeline as well as the other Halloween timelines. I’ve seen all these movies and have missed many easter eggs🥴
Is it me and did I not pay attention or doesn’t he mention the connection with Halloween III? I mean, he mentioned that the opening credits are a reference to those of Halloween III, but I mean the fact that Halloween III is about masks that take over the minds of those wearing it and it is implied that Michael Myers mask in Halloween Ends does more or less the same. Like it’s not so much Michael Myers who is evil and ‘special’ but it’s the mask.
Tons of people still air dry their clothes, in Australia the only time we use our dryers are in the winter or autumn when it's raining, other then that they are outside on the clothesline
@@themidnightchoiri figured they probably would. unless they lived in a major city in a place like Japan or South Korea that have a larger western influence, but also i thought they would find it to much of a waste of money, in the sense of "why buy something that dries my clothes when the air and sun do it for free., or it is because they aren't in a good enough financial situation to afford one and even if they are they may not have a consistent and reliable power source to run the machine from, or a mixture of all three.
Even in the US this is not uncommon, it's mostly however in poor and rural areas. And I don't mean or I mean and. It typically has to be both city areas and even major suburbs don't typically do this so much. Even in the poor areas of those communities. It's often a space thing and the idea that it would be super easy for someone to just walk through your yard and take your stuff. I live in a very small area and a lot of people here don't even have a washer and a dryer a lot of people here either only have a washer or have to go to the laundromat and if the weather's nice enough and you have the space you don't want to use the dryer, just because of money. My laundromat with the rate that the machine would go at there should be double the amount of dryers to washer it's not there is more dryers but it's not double. And unless it's raining it's much easier to find a dryer than a washer that you can use at the laundromat. My home does not even have a hookup for a dryer It had a hook up for a washer at one point which was removed because it was causing property damage. My mother-in-law does not have a hookup for a dryer.
@@annabellebestia332 i never understood that though, i can understand being in a large city and just simply not having the space for them but if you do, in the long run you save a hell of a lot of money just buying a washing machine and dryer then going to the laundromat and spending 20 or 30 dollars to wash you're clothes for the week. if it costs you 3600 for both machines, you would make you're money back in 120 washes, which should be easily reachable in a year. i also understand that some people live paycheck to paycheck but there are always free washing machine and dryers or at least dirt cheap washers and dryers on Facebook marketplace, craigslist/ gumtree (Australia's version of craigslist), which to me is just being smart and not needing to spend a bunch of money just because you don't want something that is second-hand. (obviously you should give them a good clean and wipe out before use just to be safe but its not a problem for me)
From 2018 i always thought Allyson still holding the knife could also be a funny nod to viewers screaming at Laurie always dropping the knife in the original after an attack when she should hold onto it.
Granddaughter will be a better fighter she holds onto the knife..she will be less trauma tired than laurie.im glad they believe her now..I have childhood trauma being listened to and believed is important to healing and working through it. Constantly repeating and not successfully makes you get stuck in repeating and learning how to effectively get help..it stops the triggers..helps you break through the being stuck and repeating trauma choices and triggers.helps you work through recognizing answers to your trauma..break through if your lucky.
I always thought it was cheese dip that Cameron tossed her phone into. You could just barely see Micheals damaged eye at the begining of the film when he slightly turns his head when the journalists try to get him to talk.
Every Halloween movie that's ever been born and created about Michael Myers with him getting a reincarnation movie is truly fire beyond amazing just like Friday the 13th movies
About Halloween movie Halloween has a 13th movie and I just noticed that it was tied with Friday the 13th because it has 12 movie and both of them are tied
@czsworld have you thought of doing the lore of 13 ghost and each ghost. If so that would be fantastic, if not could you please as I love the attention to detail that you give these horrors.
Christopher Nelson did not play the homeless man in Halloween Ends, the characters name was Nelson Christopher as a nod to him but was played by Blaque Fowler.
HAH just finished the original Halloween video, perfect timing! 😁 Also, just as an aside (and totally inconsequential) looks like the box office numbers of Force Awakens and Jurassic World are flipped.
I’ve always seen the dollhouse being blue and different as a nod to Halloween 5 - that oddly made the famous Myers house into a blue Victorian. We’ll probably never know but it’s a detail I’m always gonna be curious about
Hey CZ just wanted to say i really appreciate all of your hard work you put into your content. You're the only RU-vidr i go to for all the in depth break downs of all the horror franchises we've all come to know and love. You're pretty much the only one with the most logical theories and i love how detailed you are with your explanations. Thank you so much. The millions of things that you catch in all these films is truly amazing. I would have never known certain things if it wasn't for your breakdowns! Keep up the phenomenal work bro much love ❤️🙌🏻
CZ, I have to say, I like the collabs you're doing with Champagne. I dig you on your own, of course, but this is cool, too, you two kinda 'bouncing off' one another. Good content.
I may be the only one who does, but I love this entire trilogy. Ends is weird, but it's a series about a kid who went nuts. Corey, at least, had more of a motive than baby Michael did. Psychosis is a weird thing lol
Nah, you're not the only one and its alot of us. even Rotten Tomatoes has the whole trilogy audience scores above most of the other films. 2018 and Kills set up Ends but I don't think people have put all the pieces together. What we got was a 3 part story (brilliant in my opinion) and what some wanted was the usual, "same movie repeated 3 times and called a trilogy" instead. I saw people baffled and shocked that Corey was acting like Michael in Ends, yet they already saw Laurie doing it in 2018 lol Aaron told us in 18 "one monster created another" Brackett told us in Kills "now he's turning us into monsters" Ends opens up with the introduction of Corey, as the song "Monster's Hop" plays. I really do think some people have certain expectations, despite the story hinting at the total opposite the whole time. Limiting Michael to slightly more screen time than the original and almost identical body count was a great move.
@@millyoneyedeaz1350I like that there’s a few positive fans for Halloween ends. I liked it more than kills, because it actually focuses on the effect Michael has on Haddonfield. Ends was a lot more small scale and intimate like the original, with a lot of mystery that the series had been missing for years. Corey was compelling, and I liked the subtleties that movie had. Audiences had way too high of expectations, I also liked the time jump and keeping Michael in the shadows again.
@@millyoneyedeaz1350If they just incorporated Corey into atleast kills to kind of start his descent I feel like the movies would have felt slightly more connected for that plot thread. It felt to fast for him to be such a big part to just....die in the same movie lol.
I really like the Halloween 2 sequence/ reference/ homage with the neighbors who are speaking to Sally specifically the modernization as far as the phone etiquette and the attire in the 2018 with the messy updo hair and oversized clothing, just a really cool modern take. And that 2018 kill was just really shocking and brutal, it was a great way to reintroduce Michael.
This dude knows everything about horror/scary movies lmfao. Also, if the Halloween reboot coming out next year or is it just a idea? or a rumor? cuz i love the Halloween franchise and in my opinion, its one of the best series, up there with Scream, Nightmare on elm street, Exorcist, Friday the 13th, and more.
Probably not. We’ll probably see a video game though. They’re working on two games: one has been advertised and is a 90’s style side scroller. The other is being kept under wraps so hopefully it’s similar to the Friday the 13th video game or the Alien:Isolation video game. It’d be cool to get an announcement or some kind of new on Halloween this year. As far as a movie goes…it’ll probably be a good 7-10 years before we see another one. The last I heard they were heading in the series direction with the intention of eventually making movies to tie into the show.
40 years later was really great aka 2018 in my opinion. The other two that followed were not that great! Honestly could have entered it at 2018 and I would have been completely satisfied!
Another fun little thing about the fire extinguisher used in the HE final battle is in H20 when Michael breaks down a door looking for her she comes from behind and knocks him down with another fire extinguisher.
If you own H20 on dvd, there’s a trivia game in the bonus features where if you get the answer right, they play that scene to symbolize you avoiding Michael. If you answer it wrong, it plays the scene of Laurie’s son getting his wound from Michael. The fire extinguisher scene is fully ingrained in my skull
Hello CZ, here is something YOU missed 😊 The 2018 Halloween wasn't the first time that Dr. Mathis was mentioned in the Halloween universe. Think all the way back to the original Halloween 2. Towards the beginning, there were two nurses walking across a parking lot, one needing a ride from the other. The one nurse says something about never wanting to party with Stevie Mathis again. While that was the name of one of the crew, I believe that is also the origin and first mention of what later became the Dr. Mathis character.
Halloween Kills has become my favorite Halloween movie. I also love the first Rob Zombie Halloween movie. Halloween Ends is my least favorite, it gives me Peacock channel vibes.
I live in IL and I know you are from IL too, CZ. I love that you call them the good ole IL boys. LOL Oh and in 1978 you could drink at the age of 18. So going into a bar was alright. And way back then, most likely back then getting served at 17 was possible. Oh and when are you going to sell the Ouija board shirt again? I LOVE that shirt. I want to buy that one.
@@RelUstble from below you would 100% still hear the flooring creak or the steps hit the floor, really the only thing missing would be the sound of tile scattering and maybe dust from the tile
The Cameron scene is definitely a callback to H4 with Brady, Cameron's death in Kills is even paralleled with H4. Goes after Michael with a gun on the stairs and the rest is history. Great video, I'm not gonna correct too many things this time lol
I’d like to add that at the end of Halloween kills hunter moon plays. I love this song and didn’t realize how they kinda tie together with the movie until I actually read them.
Uh…. As Laurie so wisely frames it, “Evil never dies, it merely changes shape.” AND to be clear, we never definitively know whether or not Michael and Laurie were related. This fact is connected to how everything is rekindled with the mask(?) Again and again it’s asked and presumed that Michael and Laurie ARE connected. Various lines of dialogue and vague references made all imply the connection isn’t simply chance. It’s even presented as two arguments in Kills between Allison and Karen. Karen being the believer and Allison being made a believer by movies end. However, by the end of Ends we are shown that “The Shape”/Michael or better yet “The Shape Of Michael” is destroyed. We are shown that the evil within Michael feeds on and can take over those who have experienced darkness. The Essence looking for a new Shape. It is very possible Corey could return. Allison being the new target. Laurie still in possession of the mask possibly the catalyst for the new stories beginning. Before Allison intervened, Laurie was face to face with The Essence within The Shape known as Michael Myers. Either way you look at things, Michael and Laurie were, are and will always be connected. Even before Dr. Sartans intervention…. Michael was heading towards Laurie’s home. If not connected what else would be the explanation. Absolute Happenstance!? With zero clue Allison was Laurie’s Grand Daughter somehow (mostly through poorly scripted means and story-telling) their paths “just happen to cross”? Over and over through out three films? Nay, I say. Nay. OH AND…. The hand in the insinkerator was more about taking some of Laurie’s fingers as she had done to him…. But sure the homage thing works too.
Remember the time there was that mix-up between Michael and the Wet Bandits? Kevin got brutally murdered, the Wet Bandits burned alive, and Kevin's Mom was overcome by guilt and blew her brains out. That's where the Christmas Sweater came from!
There’s nothing like watching this movie for the first time! If you want something else with a similar vibe Tales of Halloween is a decent attempt to replicate this movie.
I want them to make a direct sequel to the original film where, after the events of the first film, Michael escapes and rethinks where his life is going and all that he has learned while inside haddenfields insane asylum and becomes a race car driver (still wearing the mask of course)
I just rewatched Halloween 2018 and I thought it was cool that you could see Vanessa and Marcus from Halloween Kills actually getting into their car heading out...glad you referenced it. We can chalk up the address mix up in Halloween 2 because it was an alternate timeline! LOL
Hi Cz! 👋 I love your content and have been a huge fan for years. I especially enjoyed all your Stephen kings’s IT videos, speaking of I have a few questions for you related to IT if that’s alright. 1. Have you heard of the IT prequel series welcome to derry? It’s coming out next year and has bill skarsgard’s pennywise returning. Supposedly it takes place in the 60’s too. Anyways are you excited about it? What’s your general thoughts and theory’s? Btw there is two short teasers for the show that I can link for you if you would like( you could make vids on them idk) 2. Will you do things you missed or horror histories on welcome to derry? Could be original characters for the series or novel characters like maturin or Will Hanlon. Anyways thanks for taking your time out of your day to read this. Have a good day.
54:37 actually she did need that knife, because after putting the knife under her belt, the next scene Cameron is attacked and she comes to aide him, Michael snatches her gun out of her hands, & she quickly pulled the knife out of her belt and stabbed him three times, which helped a little with stopping his attack on them but ultimately failing because she gets blasted down the stairs
38:51 Speaks on the usage of the rope Micheal stole from the store in 1978. I could be wrong but I just watched halloween 2 the other day and though they dont completely show it (hes behind the foggy glass door) he used a rope to kill Budd. Pretty sure thats the only other time but I also realize this movie does not consider halloween 2 as past of its timeline. Still cool though!
I live in Charleston, SC. Specifically, Hanahan, S.C., where the service station was located, before being torn down (RIP). The Church bus was nothing more than an awesome little coincidence. The Church is actually called "Church of the Resurrection" 🎃
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel I love this video and channel Thanks you for your video and channel I love Halloween movies all franchise
I didn’t know that Halloween kills was filmed in Wilmington NC which is where I grew up. I actually lived about one mile away from the bowling alley that Sam and Ritchie were working in Scream 5 (2022). I was actually extremely disappointed with scream 5 because I was expecting a kill scene to happen in that bowling alley because it would be an original kill scene and although them using the actual building for filming a kill scene I was very familiar with the interior of that building and thought it would be interesting for a kill scene
Will you do a history if the aliens in the quiet place movies? And Pumpkinhead? Would be awesome to see so reviews of the old school movies. Pinhead, the ghoulies watch.
Man, thought we'd finally get a worthwhile finish to Michael's story, Finally. Halloween 2018: Ohh yes more please Halloween Kills: Ok, ugh well not bad and that ending was epic so yay. Halloween Ends: Why? WHY? WHY CAN'T WE GET A GOOD CONCLUSION TO THIS STORY!?!?!?
Always loved Halloween Ends and will always love it I reckon. The way people are treating Joker: Folie à Deux currently reminds me of how they treated Halloween Ends. Misunderstood movie FR.
Just a point of information, regarding Ben Tramer being at a bar, while agree that he's probably meant to be alive in this timeline, as they were definitely at the bar after the events of Halloween (since Laurie would have been 17 in the movie and not allowed in a bar until she was 18) the drinking age didn't change to 21 until 1984. 😊
