This is a certified "watching with my eyes closed"video😂. All I need to do is listen to Fooster and his progressively stressed out and hoarse voice, so I consider this video watched...or more like listened to😂
Made me laugh so hard that Olaf had to play it first, I can just hear Olaf yelling and screaming in fear, Fooster, Fisk,Taco and Olaf hands down my most favorite RU-vid content creators! Thank you again Fooster for yet another amazing video, I always look forward to all the new videos.
I only discovered them last month and I've been watching their gameplays nonstop! Such good entertainment. So happy I stumbled across them. Just good silly vibes!
Pretty sure the character you played as hung themself Fooster. You were swinging the whole time from a high elevation looking down. I think that final jump scare is supposed to illustrate the PTSD the character experienced even after leaving “Kowloon”; which would explain why they took their life. Great play
I love this! Fooster: "We are on a horror quest and see what kind of shenanigans this accursed city has to offer." Also Fooster: "PUPPY!!!!" Never change.
It was the shadow from the flashlight because he stood so close to the door the reflection plus the shadow created a illusion of a person. Unintentional, but still so cool.
The atmosphere is what freaks me out the most. The jump scares are bad but the way my blood pressure would be constantly high because of the environment. And the moans of that one guy, ugh. Cool playthrough and cool game.
As others have mentioned, the Kowloon Walled City was a real location in Hong Kong and has a pretty fascinating history. I never went there myself (I was just a kid when they demolished it - and even if I had been older, I doubt I would of!) but we used to visit Hong Kong regularly and I remember flying into the old airport (which I highly recommend you take a look at in and of itself if you've not seen it - it was quite the experience) and seeing the city from the plane. It always felt surreal and even having travelled fairly extensively since, I've yet to see anywhere quite like it. On a secondary note, this is the closest I've seen Fooster to dying of a heart attack in-game!
Yep, you're not wrong. Flying into Kai Tak, looking down (and sometimes up) into apartments. Visited Kowloon walled city as part of a tour - you didn't go there alone or uninvited. It basically looked like this.. plus humidity, a barrage of smells, lots of small movements in the corners. Hard living but a cool place!
One of Tokyo's coolest arcades, Warehouse Kawasaki, based their entire aesthetic on Kowloon. Sadly, went out of business in 2019. But it got me researching the Walled City.
This game makes me sooo uncomfortable, even before they got in the apartment… it was horrifying! Your one of my fave gamers and you deserve all these new supporters, your doing such a great job🥰
@@hantz8771a fear of going outside if i am correct. I have a friend who has it. Its debilitating to the point most ppl end up very lonely and affraid to interact with people
Oh man I loved your playthrough of from the darkness (granted I watched most of it hiding behind my hands) so I'm excited to see how this one treats ya 😂 omg nooo you missed the bag of dog food in the store
The ending of this game was phenomenal. It reminded me of a Star Trek episode where the crew of Voyager (I think) got close to a monument that implanted the memories of a brutal war onto them as a memorial to the victims of the war. It's not a direct correlation, but this game seems to do a similar thing, which is draw the player into the horrific destruction of Kowloon, so that the utter horror of the city's final days would not be forgotten, and could be told to others. The last ghost that shows up on screen is that of the little girl, directly connecting the events reported by the news to the experience of the player whilst in Kowloon, confirming that the government did resort to killing the residents to accomplish their goal of clearing the city. The events of the game are a creation of the lost spirits of Kowloon to reveal what happened to the player, creating a horrific monument to the city's victims, forcing the player to experience their trauma. Since everything experienced in the game is one long hallucination, the dog is clearly not real, but is symbolic; the dog represents the lost souls of Kowloon - hungry for justice, and a kindly presence indicating that no actual harm is being posed to the player, just a reminder to the player that once you can, you should satisfy their hunger for justice. What a horrific, deeply artistic game.
That first shoulder around the corner is so well done, it really makes you question if you actually saw something or if you're just jumpy. I'm glad I was watching a video so I could just go back and check.
Foster the kowloon walled city is an actual city that is in fact as congested as the game suggests. Knowing this kinda makes me like the premise of this game and I might get it for myself.
and yes, they would have stuff there that don't make sense. They build what they can, and no permit was needed, because no one administered it. It was Chinese piece of land in Hong Kong. SO Hong Kong had no Jurisdiction, and CHina had jurisdiction, but Hong Kong won't let officials get there
I literally want to buy this game and play it to get that dog food for the pupper in the store hahaha! I even watched Olaf blow right by it too haha! Great video Fooster, love your content!!!
I've only seen one person do it.. maybe IGP? I forget precisely who, honestly. Doesn't change anything later as far as I remember, but it is an achievement.
I grew up in a house built in 1800s and that background sound in the store is what i would often hear when i was in my attic room downstairs, full blown conversations/parties and when i came down shouting for my parents, no one was there and it was silent. Always creeped me the fuck out!
@@cherrydragon3120 it was creepy! Haha, didnt ever see much, the odd shadow figure but the cold spots through that house would always be freaky too! Its become a talking point with my sister who also used to hear the same things!
@@dejuren1367 oh i know, i have experiemced that in the woods many times, but there wasnt really anything to make noise, youd go down and as soon as you went to the ground floor, it would stop! Very weird and the fact my sister used to experience it too is quite odd. I used to think it may be groups of people walking by outside but the street was often completely dead silent. Had afew moments in that house i cant explain, my mum even passed in that house so there is an aura about it for me that i cant deny may sway my opinion.
28 minutes in and can honestly say this is the first horror game I've watched from you that every jump scare so far has gotten me. You are anticipating them, but they are timed so well you cannot be ready. Well made and props to the devs!
Probably the most terrifying game I've seen you play, Fooster. When I heard the patting of footsteps at 30:46, my hair was standing on the back of my neck!
I’ve seen 3 different people play this before and the jumpscares still got me so hard, i had to put my tea down before i threw the cup. Ngl, I’d never be able to play this. Thank you for putting yourself through this for us! xD
Fooster is the person that I watch while eating some lunch after classes are over. This time I have a salad since I wanted to be healthier while waiting for my pizza. Prettey good, turkey lettuce tortilla chips and sharp cheddar, and a scared little man watching another man get losing his mind slowy over time. ⚡👌⚡
Kowloon was an actual place back in the days and it looked even more disgusting but the reason why things are placed at weird spots like the toilet is because before being a walledcity, it was a military base, when ppl started moving in they found ways to live by and had to improvised
Dude fakes his playthroughs to an extent. No way someone who wiggs out at the slightest thing regardless of if its meant to be scary, but then walks by other WAY more obvious things multiple times...lame.
Earphones on light off gl everybody lol hopefully we survive this and thx for taking ur time to play this game for us … I just wanna say I’m great full since I can’t handle these kind of horror game …
When Fooster came across the beautiful little hideout, it made me wonder what Newt (from 1986 Aliens) must have gone through evading xenomorphs alone until Ripley showed up. That would be quite the horror game…
I'm sad there are so many cheap jump scares, though. A proper horror game does not rely on them; in fact, does not have cheap jump scares at all. Otherwise, this game is absolutely fantastic. The graphics, the atmosphere, the sound design is wonderfully done.
I went to school in China; unfortunately while you bring up that it looks horrifying (just the environment these people are living in) many, many people in China live in tenement apartments that are exactly like that.
Looked over that dogfood bag over 3 times, literally the biggest brightest boldest thing in the room lol It was the first thing I saw as soon as the door opened, maybe I'm just used to yellow being caution so my eye was drawn to it?
You are saying that like I was shitting my pants at the gut wrenching laughter AND the fact that a door just randomly unlatched itself.. complete fear rob that’s why 😂
bruh...mortuary assistant used to be my No.1 scariest game of all time but after seeing this....The mortuary assistant cant even be compared to this lvl of jumpscares and sh*t😭💀
Kowloon Walled City really did exist, it was once the smallest "city" in a city with the most dense population in the world. Actually terrifying, when you've been told about the yard, i was completely dumbfounded by what it actually looked like. 😮 Great game anyway. 👍
So glad you are finally playing this!! Hope all is well with you and your family ❤ this was a real place and has a creepy history if you read up on it.
Don't worry about talking through the game play it makes it more entertaining plus I find talking through it helped make it seem less like something in real life and thanks for the great content Fooster and keep up the great work
There's literally 2 locked door in the apartment other than the landlady. If not the front door got to be the balcony. The game is giving you so many chances and you continue to wonder around the apartment until the landlady is done in the bathroom. just wow.
4:45 The main mission! 13:11 Nope. First time for me too. 23:26 An accident waiting to happen if in real life. 30:07 Valve theme music playing in the background. 31:44 Sorry, Fooster. But for some reason I breathe very shallow or like to hold my breath. 43:22 Game; You sure about that? 53:31 Dead Space; Finally! A worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary! Ngl, I flinched every time the jump scare pops when we least expected. Great playthrough, Fooster!
Fooster it's almost Halloween I think you fisk taco and olaf should do something a game like this because as much as I love fooster being scared it's guaranteed chaos with the others
All these comments from people pressed that you didn't feed the fictional dog lol. Guys I dont think those pixels is going to starve to death. Its all good.
After watching this gameplay. I had to Look up Kowloon city Aka City of Darkness. The city had that dystopian science fiction theme for movies and games. Like Cyberpunk, Night runner, Dred etc. But I think it is fascinating of the fact that Kowloon has been a habit of human city building for a very long time. Just at the dawn of civilization give or take ten thousand years ago, cities were structured like tall mounds with very few roads through them. Modern cities have so many regulations that we've grown accustomed to organized sprawls, but Kowloon touches on a much more primordial conception.
