In Jodhpur I go in search of the famous blue buildings of the city and come across perhaps the friendliest street I’ve ever encountered anywhere in the world where nearly every resident welcomed me with huge smiles and a tremendous welcome.
Along the way I get invited into a carpenter’s studio to watch him saw wood, then I stumble across a man selling trombones in a very unexpected area.
A man invites me into a temple to watch him pray to then bless me as well which I found quite a humbling experience.
I’m also educated by several people standing around a vegetable stand as to what the different names of vegetables in India are called - one particular man is quite the character.
We also discover a temple which offers food cooked in large pans and are greeted by a local man who tries to explain what’s going on.
After climbing a considerable amount of stairs we finally get to a blue guesthouse rooftop where we are able to get a view of the blue buildings of Jodhpur as well as the imposing fort that looms over the city.
This was maybe my favorite travel day so far. A wonderful experience on all accounts.
