Why is this place so cheap? Pushkar.

Today I spent time shopping in the greatest little market I've yet to find anywhere - this is Pushkar, India!
I meet and talk with local shop owners, buy a knife from an old lady street seller, I purchase a hand-made cotton paged travel note book, and sample a few of the market’s local foods and sweets.
Pushkar market really is a wonderful place to wander almost devoid of other tourists and gives you the feelling of being in a truly authentic desert bazaar.
The market runs alongside the town’s holy lake making it a great bazaar to spend time in to then sit and eat some of the delectable food sold on the steps of the sacred water.
Pushkar, India, is fast becoming one of my favorite places yet visited for its laid back, easy going, casual feel accompanying a real authenticity offered by its inhabitants and day to day goings on throughout the town.
I had a great time wandering around, and it has to be said, this bazaar in Rajasthan is incredibly great value for buying your bits and pieces. Love this place!

I have to say that place looked like some mediaeval little neighbourhood in modern world! You have a old lady selling knives, you have vender at the side of the road selling snacks, cultural hand made travel notebooks, then you have some duded randomly playing local instruments, wow.

Indian sweets are expensive, if they are made well It might well be approx. 30 Rs. Lets say 25 laddoos fit in a KG then. So 1 laddoo is 40 Gm , 0.04 * 540 Rs = 21.6 ≈ 22Rs
