If you tuned down the bass, and boosted the mid slightly, that's technically Timeless OG. I am bass head. I love my Timeless AE over Timeless. Also I believe the ball on the cord is used to tighten the cable for keeping it in a box, or at least that's what I used it for.
It is closer to the Timeless OG, but I fear I may have over simplified my EQ when I described it :D It is closed to IEF neutral with OG timeless levels of sub bass, but since I use these with my PS5 as well as my pc I enjoy the default sound as well and for casual gaming on the console I am more than fine without EQ. At the end of the day, we are talking about fine-tunes and not a transformative EQ, the stock performance is already excellent
I don‘t know if you noticed that but when I played something like The Witcher 3, the voices sounded harsh and sibilant and sounded like one octave higher. The Moondrop Aria Snow, which you‘ve reviewed, had no problems with that. On music they‘re the exact opposite. They‘re organic and full, the whole sound is energetic and powerful, so idk why they sound strange on voices in games. That’s not the case on any other iem or headphone that I have in a range between 20$-1,000$.
Maybe you had 3D Audio on if u played on the ps5? That tends to fuck up the sound sometimes. But yeah that still seems like a weird issue which even I have experienced.
@@sa1f43 I play on an Xbox Series S with an Amp connected to my TV. I play like this for years (I don‘t play online). Maybe it‘s because of peaks in the treble region, which is strange, because on music they‘re not peaky at all, but dark and full. I played The Witcher 3 in german for example with an Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R, Moondrop Aria Snow, Aful Performer5, with my 1000$ Ultrasone Edition 11 and even with the 20$ Truthear Hola, so I have no idea whats the problem.
Thanks for the great video, I have been thinking king about getting these iems. But I am confused along with other iems like aful performer 5 and tangzu heyday at 220 and 200 respectively.
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video :) Truth is between the two models you said and the timeless they are all very similar, and you will not be disappointed with either one. Even looking at the graphs for all three models side by side, the differences are all small and easily remedied with some EQ if you feel like it.
Get a planar, performance to price ratio you can't beat planars, avoid balanced armatures they suck, stick with planar or DD, multi driver iems never sound properly coherent.
Thanks for the tip! It can be pretty difficult to try everything, but it is always nice to hear what people want to see. If I get the chance to try them, I will!
