Ferlin lived 2 miles from me growing up. That was his Limousine and it was a fixture in Hendersonville, TN. Tammy did have a Lincoln limousine and she also had a Rolls-Royce sedan in white. Tennessee title search proves both.

Very interesting info John, thank you for sharing. Ferlin’s car looked really good in that silver. I really want to drive one of those some day. The presence of that car is just fantastic.

Sadly you can tell that the passenger side doesn’t get near the sun exposure the front and drivers side gets. I noticed how glossy and deep the blue is on that one side. Sad they are indeed just sitting there. A car’s worst enemy.

Nice update. That is Tamny Wynettes Lincoln limo. Sad to see it in that shape I owned her xhusbands (George Jones) 1979 Lincoln Continental Towncar many years ago and came across this lino while proving provenance for my car One other point- those 1996 to 2009ish Cadillac that you said have good motors... those were infamously bad the Northstar engines were absolutely Awful Anyways that's for the videocof Brady in all its glory

In 1982, I had just returned from a 4 month TAD at Thule, Greenland. I had a "wickedly good paycheck" coming from a part time job as an AC mechanic for a friends charter bus operation, and went to collect the 'ill gotten booty', when the phone rang. It was a booking agent for some record company, and one of their musical artist's touring busses had thrown (I believe) the fiber gear on the air compressor, near Longwood, Pennsylvania. Next thing I know, I'm on my way to Longwood in a nearly new MC-9; it was their "executive" coach, with card table, and an area in the back outfitted for use as a bar. When I arrived, I expected to go to Baltimore, the artist was Tammy Wynette, and I wound up in Baltimore; Rocky Mount, NC; Richmond, VA; and an area near Nashville, her home. She tipped well, and only barked about my driving too slowly for her taste one time.

Re the factory air on the '53 Fleetwood, most had the clear plexiglass "tubes" that piped the cold air up into overhead mounted vents in the headliner. However, you could request a delete of the tubes with the cold air coming out of two vents on the rear package shelf. This Fleetwood is one of those cars. The rear fender mounted air scoops are the external giveaway that this is a factory air conditioned Cadillac...

There are cool cars especially the Lincoln limousine and the cadillac limousine my dad used to have a 1972 gold cadillac brougham my dad got it for only 50 cents from an old guy the guy told my dad if you gave me that fifty cent pice the car is yours so my dad had gave the guy the fifty cent pice it had 80 thousand original miles with a 472 my dad had told me that the cadillac had broken down so my dad sold it for a hundred dollars 💸 💵 💲 this was in the early 90s I was 9 or 10 at the time

Every old car was once somebody's car. Just bc a lot of ppl (more than most) heard someone singing and then rode in a car to go somewhere or touched something hardly increases it's value. Although some believe it does. Most under 30 today would say, "Who is/was Tammy Wynette ?"

That looks like a Lincoln Mark v or maybe a Mark 6 Lincoln you can tell by the gigantic front hood it's almost as big as the remainder of the car and, and if you'll notice that Wing antenna on the trunk there's a phone in that car back in those days they were radio phones and you would hit a button that would get you to the closest Radio antenna that would pick up the signal and you can make a phone call and it was expensive.

The Lincoln limo was made from a 1977 Lincoln Continental sedan, NOT a Mark series Continental. That grille was used on the 77 through 79 Lincoln Continental sedan and coupe and Town Car and Town Coupe. Despite having a Town Car badge on the left front fender (perhaps it was crunched and replaced before) that is not the loose pillow style Town Car interior. Those are also 78 or 79 (or later) wire wheel covers. I had a 77 cream and cordovan luxury edition Town Car and a 79 two tone silver and medium charcoal Town Car with red leather interior and those same wire wheel covers.
