Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on RU-vid!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...
WARNING
Abandoned mines and ruined structures have many hazards and can severely injure or even kill you. Do not attempt to copy or re-enact situations or scenarios seen in this video. Stay Out and Stay Alive: • Gly Says... STAY OUT S...

“Gly”: Special thanks to Tina Delwiche! Tina is a top tier financial contributor of the channel and thanks to her the channel now has new color correction software. 👍👍 Cinema Grade is a color correction plug-in assisting Adobe Premier Pro that drastically shortens the time when color correcting videos in post production. This video is the very first where Cinema Grade has been used throughout the video. Thanks Tina for your support and for helping make the content look… even better!

Utterly stunning videography that gives me, as a Brit, a slight sense of the scale of your wide open spaces. This is the America that I long to visit one day. I am also mindful of the amount of time that even goes into the seemingly throwaway bridging scenes between chapters. A filmmakers tour de force!

That was certainly very impressive, the use of the drone was great and gave a great overall view as to more modern mining techniques and how the metals are extracted. One wonders if they had an intention to come back bearing in mind the amount of equipment that was left at the sight. We are certainly looking forward to going inside the mine with you and are grateful to the authorities for leaving the adit open for us!

Wow! That first building you came to was pristine! Nobody, as of yet, had been up that way for a long time since there was absolutely no graffiti anywhere. No one had tagged the place from what you showed. Amazing. Loved the drone footage too, since it enables you to explore the area with a overhead view without having to walk the distances or drive. Can't wait to see the "big hole". Stay safe, Gly.

GLY I,,,, I love the diversity of your videos . Every week you apply genuine ideas and innovation. This mine must of been heavy in mining because they were into blasting and explosives exstensivly. GLY,,, thanks for the view of the wild horses, you know I love them,.! The grand view in the end was astounding from that hill. OLD BOB got quite excited and wanted to go inside.. The horse that was running looked like a blue roan color. And the white face is usually a pale face. . Love the variety of music. Your Variety is the spice of life. Very impeccable videos every week. A great use of the drone! First the ore goes to the cone or jaw crushers (Which is called primary crushing). . Then rod or ball type mills. ( The slope of the mills and rotation speed will control the output size of the finished ore. (Sometimes it goes through a hammer type mill) Then froth flotation before Roasting, Then leaching. (I worked at too many copper mines.)
@Porty1119
@Porty1119 2 года назад
Generally we use jaws followed by cone crushers for finer grind. I've mainly worked in gold and copper mines in Arizona and New Mexico. The concentrates from flotation are sent to a filter press for dewatering and then to a smelter, or to a pressurized leach vessel plant followed by electrowinning of the PLS. With gold, direct smelting of roasted ore isn't unheard of here.

Get some copper paste. I think it's called Copper Slip. Take out the pads and coat the back side of the pad that contacts the caliper with copper slip. Then refit the pads back into the cappiper and slide over the disc into place. Redo to the caliper bolts nice and tight and pop the wheels back on. Should take care of brake squeak until you replace the pads.

Speaking of fireworks. My wife's school is in Chinatown Bangkok near the grand palace. Several fireworks stores nearby.
