This is the best glove under $100 www.justballgloves.com/produc... The Rawlings sandlot and the Wilson A700 are also great options so I will link them here www.justballgloves.com/produc... www.justballgloves.com/produc...
I've been using the mizuno franchise for 3 years and it still holds up to this day after using it everyday. Highly recommend the glove to any youth players or anyone who needs a cheap and good glove.
I have the Rawlings sandlot and I absolutely love the glove. Super comfortable and has been battle tested for 3 years now and looks just as good as the day I bought it
rawlings sandlot gloves are the go to glove for dads just lookin to play some catch with their kid. teaching their son to throw. if a dad doesn't still have his own glove from earlier years, the sandlot series makes for a good choice.
I have an old Louisville Slugger Glove in a Heart Of The Glove series at 11.5 inches due to small hand size, more to the Rawlins Sure Catch style, the gray and black closed web design that was $30 at the time and now having used a Rawlins Sure Catch in almost the same design with a closed web only a size too small at 10.5 inches I can say the gloves feel almost the same with the same Genuine Pressed Leather glove only in the new Rawlins glove, the glove needs to be broken in as the glove does not have a built in padding/duel leather air padding system the Lewisville Slugger gloves had but instead uses several thicker leather/fake leather under layers in the palm as the padding. The one I borrowed was from a Cousins kid who plays and his glove felt good, only I had issues with the sizing is all being the counsins son, his old glove was too small for me just barely fitting. Cousins kid wanted practice with catching and breaking in a used glove got off e-Bay to fit his hands better not the previous owner so I was throwing the ball using his old glove, with me as about the only person who could even use the glove properly. Cousins Kid likes used gloves as they tend to be pre broken in for most of them unless really cheap gloves that will not break in due to the type of synthetic used like a vinyl, also he was using a better glove from Rawlins only used for $45 in an all brown Player Preferred Series in a 12 inch to 12.5 inch size for his hands of almost same web design as the Rawlins Sure Catch he had previous that is now $40 and for about the same quality to the old Louisville Slugger the pricing going up due to inflation is understandable. If I were to need a new glove I would try the Sure Catch if I could not find a Great shape of the Old Louisville Slugger Glove in a Heart Of The Glove series type glove off e-Bay for a reasonable price.
@@AK907g_money Literally mentions being a dad and throwing with his son, no need for a high level glove for that purpose. I just picked one of these up for LHT, while I have several high end gloves for RHT(RICO custom, 44 Pro, and a Nokona) and this is fine for the purpose he mentioned.
Picked up a Franchise this summer and was very surprised by how well it performs. Break in was easy. And it hasn't fallen apart after a summer of ball.
Have y'all ever seen the channel "Rose Anvil"? They review shoes and boots. They do a lot to test and show the quality of the leather, and I'd be curious as to what some of those tests (Namely the burn test) would show on baseball gloves.
Thanks for making this video😁👍🏽!!! I have the same the Mizuno Franchise I-Web and a Sandlot 12.75" H-Web and both are great for playing weekend warrior baseball!!!! Glad you agreed those are the best two 👍🏽👍🏽
You do great videos thanks for your honest and very funny content. You convinced me to skip the Wilson A700 which I was figuring was a big step up from the A450. I ended up getting a Mizuno MVP prime for under $100! Thanks for the awesome advice!
One cool thing about rawlings is how you can customize a glove. I mean you can literally choose the whole color of every part of your glove and they do have some cheaper gloves you can customize also.
Franchise is a sleeper. Very comfortable, good pocket, easy break in. I had it for a year now, I usually use it in slowpitch but would still use it sometimes in fastpitch when I play as an outfiled. I think it's a perfect glove for someone who just want to play baseball or slowpitch for fun.
I don’t think a lot of people wear an infield glove two in the pinky, it creates i bigger pocket, and has less range on fielding the ball. You ever stick your arm down to take a ground ball two in the pinky compared to traditional? You have more surface area in my opinion while wearing it traditional. I am pretty old, but my sons are 12 and I see them all wearing traditional on the infield and two in the pinky in the outfield. I guess what I’m trying to say is I don’t see the point in reviewing infield gloves two in the pinky, unless most kids wear their gloves this way now days.
i have a rawlings youth premium pro taper series infield glove its 11.5 and have had it for 3ish years its real leather has a good pop taste good it took about a week of beating the glove hot water treatment and just playing catch and is durable for just $70
One thing i noticed about Rawling vs Wilson is rawlings has "OK" gloves for any price range, where wilson budget gloves are all pretty trash. If you want a wilson you pretty much have to buy a A2K or A2000, everything else is brutal
We had that Mizuno Franchise in a first base mitt, good for 1 year. That palm pad you're referring to breaks down fairly quickly and the ball will kill your hand if it's infielders that can throw at a fairly decent velocity. The laces will need replacing quickly as well. The only good thing about the mitt was that it was super light and easy to control. The older versions of the franchise gloves were made much better and lasted a lot longer.
I'd like to see you do a video on the Dunlop MVP 889/518 glove. I've had one for like 30 years and it's still in good shape. It makes an 11 1/2 feel like an infant's glove.
I literally just bought the rawlings select to coach my sons t-ball team and was watching your videos on breaking in new gloves and stumbled across this one
Can confirm. My daughter used the previous version of this glove for softball and pulled out some of the interiors and it was indeed cotton candy. I had to buy her a new glove of course, but it was a tasty lesson to learn.
mizunos with that web were always my favorite growing up, but more in the 200$ range. you really cant beat that web for shape-ability of an infield glove
I just purchased a Rawlings youth sized Kris Bryant glove and honestly it fits amazingly considering I’m an adult, all I need to do is adjust the wrist cuff a bit and it’s golden
A lot of guys here in Germany buy the Sandlot as their first glove. Prices obviously get inflated over here because of import and we also don't get the wide selection you guys get in the States. They are nice gloves with decent leather that come in a wide range of patterns that most new players feel comfortable buying. They are usually easy to break in and the good patterns mean even a complete newbie won't screw the form up too much. The MVP Prime is also a favourite for a little more money when people want to upgrade after a couple of years.
I got a Rawlings Bull series in 6th grade and still have it. Was super big for me when I first got it and I grew into it through middle school. Wore it all through high school because money was tight and I played outfield so having a big, floppy glove worked just fine. Side note: been watching your channel because I’m having a little boy in less than a month and I already want to get him a glove and maybe get one for me so we can play catch even though that’s at least 5 years away. Thanks for the content man
I lost all my gloves, bats, everything when I got divorced. I use a Wilson 950 12.5" for slow pitch and HATED it when I first got it. A lot of work, molding, and pine tar and it's one of my favorites now. I'm a die hard HOH guy. This one is legit now after it was worked.
It's alright for what it is in my experience. Very plush. Essy to break in. Super easy to squeeze. I borrowed my daughter's Marucci (same glove but different year) when I hurt my elbow and couldn't squeeze a glove without pain. It definitely does the job.
Any chance that you could get some Bradley(Next Play Series), or Burley(Elite Series) youth gloves to review against each other and against the big brand names in a similar price range?
I’ve had the 12” a1000 black and red ($150) for over a year now. Excellent feel and has held its shape. I use it mainly for slow pitch sb and outfield hardball. It’s definitely not a2000 quality or stiffness but way better than the budget gloves I chose from. My nephew has an a2000 1786 ($219) that felt great but the hand stall was tiny. I went with a Rawlings HOH r2g 11.5 ($300 but I got it second hand from a young coworker for $120 and it was broken in 2 hinge with 2 in the pink the way I would have) for infield hardball and I couldn’t be happier with it.
Have a brand new 12” H web I’d be willing to send you if that would help. Totally impartial to the brand so rip it to shreds if need be lol. Just know the low budget videos have been popular lately. HMU if interested.
I have only two gloves and one is a old renegade outfield glove that needs work and a pitchers glove from Soto that i got at a yard sale when I was around 5 and Im considering getting a Rawlings sandlots midfielders glove or catchers glove
i've got a marucci that has the same problem. After 1 season of throwing with my kid, the glove was completely worn out. It started out as a decent enough glove and went downhill quick. I ended up spending a little more on a R9 and have never looked back.
I know you said that the Gamer XLE just came in that colorway, but I ordered a gamer xle 31 pattern in a different color way. Don't know if it will perform the same, I guess we will just have to find out.
I play LF and i busted the laces on my web on my ssk z9 and didnt have money to get a good glove so i ran around looking for a cheap glove to finish off the few games i had left. So i got tge rawlings from walmart and it wasnt bad to finish off the season. Not something i recommend for a full season use but for a game of catch or a few games its not bad.
Had 2 teammates with a Rawlings sandlot 1B mitt (high school 7A). One held up impeccably and the other not only had 2 lace blowouts in the web, but the 2nd time the web itself tore at the stitching and even ripped some leather.
I desperately need to do a 1B mitt list! I personally like Rawlings first base mitts but trust me when I say they are all really good as long as you buy from a main brand similar to Rawlings and Wilson
The Rawlings outlet had Easton PCK-D32B's for $150 when I was there in September. I jumped on one so fast! The kip is super nice. Can't want to start getting work with it this winter.
I picked up the Hybrid 11.75 from Just Gloves and it is my go-to glove for baseball. I would LOVE an A2000 or HOH but I'd miss using the Easton if I copped one.
I hope to do some of that next year on a separate channel… I know that’s in a while sorry! But for now just know that most Slowpitch gloves are kind of a scam and you should buy something like the Wilson 1799 (12.75”) instead
@@ballgloveking currently play with Rawlings RBG36B 12 1/2" Sammy Sosa Black Leather Baseball Glove from when i played in high school. I have had it re-laced but wanted to know if there is something better out there for when this one finally dies.
Thoughts on A950, looks like it falls at $100. Looking for a new "dad glove" for playing catch with my kids and helping assistant coach. My 10+ year old floppy 13" softball glove is ready for retirement.
@@ballglovekingthank you! I agree, have seen some variability in quality of the same leather. Some turn out awesome, some not so much. Appreciate the feedback, it was a free custom glove so I’ll take it!
