My son was asked to play catcher this year, (11U). We were given a broke in team Mizuno Samurai 33”. It has a built in thumb guard and he loved it. They gifted him the mitt at end of season for stepping in to catch from ss. I’ve caught with it and it’s very nice.
I’ve been a fan of you for years and now that you have a video on catching is awesome I’m a catcher so it’s very nice to see you taking the time to catch
Me we just need more options I was looking for a cheap mitt but they are all in right and had to drop $400 on a custom on manufacturers definitely need to start producing more
@@Banman500we definitely need more options. I'm lefty and I have had the mizuno franchise from the video for 4-5 years, it was great for catching 9/10/11u pitchers but got too soft to handle any velo above mid 60s without getting bullied, big time. Upgraded as the velo went up, allstar cm3100sbt is about the best I could find without going $400+ custom. Not an easy break in, but it's growing on me.
I picked up that mizuno glove for a 9u team for the team to use. Everyone who caught used and liked or loved it. It works. Mizuno kids power close gloves are pretty sweet youth gloves
I’ve got a 6 year old playing so I appreciate the reviews of youth glove options. It’s hard navigating the best gloves for kids without the opinion of a kid! Keep em coming and bring Finn with you.
This was really helpful especially as I’ve helped my oldest, a leftie catcher this year. I’ve been thinking making it’s all been technique on the Marucci Keene model… but seeing stuff pop out of the Marucci so easy. Both my boys have the Mizuno Prospect for 1st, but I hadn’t looked at the catcher’s mitt. It’s a shame that AllStar wasn’t a youth size.
Hey man, you’ve helped me break in my Japanese ssk infield glove and the recommendations have helped purchases too! I’m a youth player looking to get a new catchers mitt bc mine’s web broke catching in a game. A new glove would be crazy appreciated! Keep the content up!!
love your content, I always go to you when I have a question about my gloves and I always break in my gloves and some of my friends and brothers gloves from your videos. Thanks bro 🐐 🐐
what do the different glove mallets do, i have seen you with lots of different ones? Finn is great keep him in the vids in the future. love the vids keep it up.
You need the 32.5 version of the Mizuno power close, it's a good catchers glove and solves some of the 'small pocket' concern with the 31.5 that you had in the video.
Another w video as always keep up the good work lol wish I caught you at one of my own practices so I could blessed lol😂 but the channel in itself is awesome anyways 🔥🙏
The Mizuno franchise may be very good for bullpen catchers that don’t play in game, with it being comfy and deep so easy to catch the ball with and it’s cheap
I’ve got a sleeper budget outfield glove for you. Mizuno select 9. It’s a 12.5 trapeze and it’s right around $100. Might be the best $100 you can spend.
Please review and break in a 44 catchers mitt, I was struggling with a box break in but I still love the gloves and are really good for the price and durable
I would love to see a review of the R9 Pro (R9PNA28). A comparison between that and the Gamer XLE and some 44 pros would be awesome. Love the videos keep up the good work.
We got a Mizuno Franchise last year I think on Sale for like 65 to go with his 50 dollar used set of gear since he usually the second or third catchers on his team.
Would you do any modifications to break in a custom 44 with a lot of orange color when it comes to using water? Just didn’t know if it would bleed or anything this will be my first time trying it. Thanks!
im 17 now been catching since i was 8 years old and the glove i have i found at a baseball park in the rain like 7 years ago when i was a kid and been using it since for some reason even tho its a little old but still gets the job done
I would love the red and black glove I do middle school ball and I have been using my brothers really old mizuno that has a hole in it so I would love it
I looove your vidoes I’m just 11 but love baseball I’m liked subbed and have watch almost all your vidoes I love that glove Finns good for his age keep it up ball king!
Look up a used wilson a2400. It's a dual hinge that nobody uses anymore. Roy Campanella used it, and it is the best model for clean picking a ball in the dirt. Mordern mitts don't have the dual hinge, but some have a really wide split in the bottom of the glove that gives a similar action. Similar, but not superior. As a catcher who caught close to 1000 games and tried many gloves, the old school a2400 reigns supreme and you can get one for $50 because not too many people have tried them or even know about them.
When i catch in bullpens for my 12u travel team i use an adidas catchers mitt, i dont catch in game its jus something to mess around with. ( Im left handed )
When I’m catching a lot of the time the ball is popping out of my glove what should I do to fix that I have a heart of the hide 33’ and I’m afraid to use it in game because of the fact the ball continues to pop out
bro this is crazy i’m not lying when you transitioned into play it again sports i got that looks familiar from the layout and then i saw the cashier dude and realized that is my play it again sports i always go to i’m not kidding i can tell you the location
Do u have any good recommendations for a infield gloves in the 175 to the 150 dollar range that all the money that I could earn in my neighborhood washing cars
Im really regretting buying my 44 Pro catchers mitt, balls always pop out especially low and away. Saving for the Jt Realmuto cm43 i think, beautiful glove
