phew...i just bought one in a sale before watching this video haha, picked up the green pattern for £17.99...gave as load of old t-shirts to charity and buying some new ones, bought a fatface polo for 20 - great quality, and an animal for the same price (not so great quality..)...but looking at a couple of dark green ones, but can't decide between a uskees or a asket - have you any experience of them?
Worth mentioning that the Lady White Co. shirt will actually stay soft for years without warping at any of its seams and hang dries without many (if any) wrinkles. Absolutely worth spending extra money on it. You can like many other t-shirts initially, but they become dog shit pretty quickly. LWC is the move for everyday nice t-shirts.
Have you heard of Gildan's Hammer tees? They're cheaper than these (around £10) and I haven't had any complaints from people I've recommended them to...
I do like the regular fit Abercrombie SoftAF as well as the Premium Polished oversized ones. Copped in the sales frequently and they’re a good weight and wash well.
My favourite t shirts are from Bronson Mfg and Shaka Wear (the drop shoulder shirt). Both are really affordable and esp with Bronson you get a loopwheel style shirt with single stitched details.
Bought two heavy weight t shirts from their female section collection and they’re the best t shirts I’ve ever had! I always overlooked Arket & COS and you made me reconsider. Really cool and great designs and fabrics from both. YOURE SAVING MY WALLET!😂 Love from Berlin!
Honestly all these tshirts look amazing on you including the oversized ones. Love your comedy aswell and the fact that I can’t tell if it’s funny on purpose or not makes it even better 😂❤
I got this in the dark green color, but it looks more like a grey to me. I love the cropped fit and how nice it drapes. My partner hated it, said it looked old because of the vintage wash and inside out 😂😢 f*** it I like it. I think I’d prefer it in black and white though. Needs a nice necklace, maybe some pearls to complete the outfit.
Thank you. I wished you included durability when you judge the t-shirts. Personally, I think that says a lot of the quality, and when buy a basic item I want it to last as long as possible, not just so I don't have to keep buying them, but because they are more sustainable.
Could you explain why you still own tshirts like the Arket one that have "normal length" ? I mean it does not use the rule of thirds and generally speaking I don't know why you would want to wear it over a cropped shirt like the one from weekday.
The Carhartt loose tee fit is perfect in a small for me. And I love the way they feel and look on me but I can’t be wearing that logo with everything especially when I want to layer. So I’m still searching for a good replacement T that I love just as much as those that are just plain. Haven’t tried all these so I need to check all of them out! A big problem with me is finding a fit that stops at the right place on the waist. I’m a shorter guy so a lot of times when I try on my size it feels like a dress and when I size down I can’t actually get into them comfortably. 😭
Los Angeles Apparel is highly slept on. Their new style of t-shirts are very well made and if you dig deep enough you can find interesting recent interviews of him at trade shows on RU-vid
My favourite ever t-shirt is from the Uniqlo +J line (their collab with Jil Sander), the fit and the drape of the fabric is so good, I wish they still sold it. If you want a video suggestion, I'd love to see a video on loafers/derbys/smarter shoes (but still everyday wear).
People are missing out on rough tees, they're the best. I have a huge number of Buck Mason Field-Spec cotton heavy tees in my wardrobe and they're so good. They are way more than your £28 specification, but worth checking out. The cut is solid too. You can wear it boxy for an edge or slim for an Americana look.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned them but Pool House New York has been making some amazing Ts that although a little pricey, are completely worth it in my opinion. They do the basics right
Interesting how I did not find this boring even though I watched a bizillion "best tee vids" . I guess it you HARRY , it's gotta be you that makes it.......
As I said, it’s my go to. I wear it so so much. I wear it as an undershirt, tucked in, as a stand-alone shirt and I can’t do that with a lot of the other tees on the list. At £27 the price isn’t too mad either so for me it’s definitely the best value for money by far.
This is one of the videos where I'd love to see Asket be featured. Their stuff is incredible and is isnt covered enough on RU-vid. Feels like a very slept on company, it's just stupidly nice and their level of transparency I've never seen before.
They had a lot of coverage on RU-vid a few years back and I’ve talked about them a lot in past videos. Their t shirt is amazing actually (I like the lightweight one) but I lost it.
@@gsmith12 How so? I have an odd shape for T-shirts (very broad shoulders) and it still fit me great where as most dont fit me well. Hell a relaxed fit t-shirt is often not a relaxed fit on me because of my broad shoulders.
I'm so happy to see the Arket one come out on top. I randomly walked into an Arket store and tried it on and was so surprised how good it looked and felt. It's the only black t-shirt I wear these days. I also have the same neckline problem, so if anyone found a solution for that, please share.
Honestly, I do not understand why you like the fit of the Weekday shirt. I think the sleeves do not look that good. The Arket one looked best on you imo.
50 is actually quite high, I have some great tshirts that were like 25 or 30 euros... Usually the 40-50 euro ones arent any better. I like my tshirts a little boxy, and a little on the rougher cotton side. Soft ones attract more of my dogs hairs and I feel like they make me sweat more. Rougher ones hold on to the hairs less and get less sweaty. Some of my nicest shirts are from G-star, but I also have 2 that are just the stores home brand from Snipes and even after washing for like 20 times they are still great. I do like my shirts to be a bit thicker, not the really thin ones. And the longer sleeves. I basically like the fits you don't like 😂 However im shorter, so they fall a littlebit lower on my waist making them less floppy on me. Dutch store WEFashion also sells some nice quality stuff without visual branding. Especially for jeans they are great for me.
Did some changes to the rating system so it only goes in intervals of .5, and ranked them in 3 different ways: total (like in the video), everything but fit (it is subjetive), only comfort and quality (some people have the money to not care). The rating system was based on Harry's opinion, I just removed some granularity so ties are more likely to happen. It was rounded to the closest .5, so 3.8 turned into 4, and 3.2 into 3. Going by all 3 rankings Arket comes out on top, but the first abercrombie and the carhartt come out better than weekday IMO. Ranked by total: arket weekday abercrombie / carhartt uniqlo / cos lady white abercrombie wide Ranked without fit: arket abercrombie / carhartt cos weekday uniqlo / abercrombie wide lady white Ranked by comfort and quality: carhartt arket / abercrombie / cos lady white abercrombie wide weekday uniqlo
Don’t even need to watch the vid 😅 I’ve been on Abercrombie's Heavyweight Cropped shirt for months now. Best cropped/boxy blank I’ve bought in that price range.
My only experience with Arket so far is that if you wash their clothes in the same way you wash anything else, they shrink/warp significantly. I spent a couple hundred pounds there a few months back, replacing all my t shirts with theirs as id hesrd good things, and they all came out the was at least 1 size smaller. Arkets customer service was very good, but it's really affected my trust with the brand since. I'd be worried if i buy anything again ill jave the same problem.
I have 2 black arket heavyweigth tees. One is brand new, other one I've washed just once. And I can definitely tell, that it lost some of its collour, black is no longer deep black, it's a bit washed out. Of course, it's probably my fault, since care label says washing at 40 degrees and I usually wash everything at 60.
Honestly my best budget T shirts are RI Studio shirts from River Island. Easy to get a hold of, 2 for £28, plenty of fit options and they feel fairly weighty. Have held their shape and colour well through multiple washes so far and are some of my comfiest t shirts. Almost unbeatable for the price on a budget in my opinion.
It’s definitely not under £50 (closer to 100) but the Daniel Simmons cropped box fit T-shirt is the best one I have ever found, I have 3 and 1 currently in the post
just shows how much excess in women's wear when men are comparing fits of a plain t-shirt. It shows I need to let go of clothes that I don't like anymore but have trouble letting go of.
Have you ever tried the t-shirts from Colorful Standard? Would be interesting to get your point of view. Maybe a little expensive compared to the other ones.
I’ve also been rocking the Abercrombie tees over the last year or so. Must also add that their Graphic tees are very well designed and the Band tees are better than your typical band merch stores. Some sell out fast.
Just bought the Arket Heavyweight Tee from the female collection cause it felt better and fit better to me, thanks as always Harry! I always passed by Arket but never walked in, the quality of these T Shirts is better than my 80€ Ralph Lauren ones. You're a king!
Another great video, keep it up. I have 6 t shirts from two brands which are Reebok (4) and Topman (2). They’re ok and I wear my Reebok ones all day with shorts. Again they’re ok. Don’t think I like branded t’s that much. Might come back to this to be more informed for my next purchase.
Would be curious on your thoughts of Madewell’s all day tees. For me they strike the perfect balance between softness and thickness without being heavy
Is Better to spend a bit more to have a better quality and softer extra long fiber cotton that will last longer, btw would be nice to know where all of them are made... Probably China, India...
Great vid, Harry. Thanks for sharing! Curious though: would it be interesting to make a video to find the best t-shirt regardless of price? I know some people are talking about Represent to be one of the better, as well as Cole Buxton.
For t shirts you cannot go wrong with any of the brands stocked by Blacksmith Store. Camber, Pro Club and Power House especially. Pro Club Tees are only 14 quid and smash the Uniqlo u to pieces.
love Uniqlo Q and they do get softer as you wash them, some of mine are still like new after 3'4 Years. Its just the fit is inconsistent, some of mine are really tight around the chest and some are really baggy. Theyre also too thick for summer
Love the content as usual. I bought a lot of the uniqlo Airism oversized tee shirt last summer as I like their silhouette and touch a lot. However, I found them not durable at all as the neckline gets scuffed after a few wear. In contrast, I bought an oversized tee from Beams Japan for around $80 in Japan. Although it is much more expensive, the durability is a clear step up and I dont have to throw away just a few wear.
allbirds wool cotton tee as been one of my favorites. never have to wash , feels great. also really like Duluth trading company tees , work wear t that holds up.
I think a better rating system would be to compare the products against eachother. A shirt may be number 1 on "Quality" but place on 3rd place for "Fit". This way its easier to see what exceeds in each section.
This was a really interesting and helpful video! Could you maybe make another video with the same theme but with basic crewneck sweatshirts or even hoodies? Love your videos dude🫡
