Thanks so much for posting this! The first thing I ever want to know about any foreign place is how do the regular people live and what does their neighborhood look like? I had an amazing time in Vanuatu last year and did fair bit of the same thing-strolling through local neighborhoods and meeting locals. Much more enriching and memorable than being served drinks on the beach.
That was so awesome man. I also enjoy stuff like this even more when I travel at times. The real roots, the everyday life of people who live there. People born there, they're neighborhoods, and childhood, growing up and living there. Like I said, really cool stuff.
Hey mate, I'm from Tahiti and just watched your video. You were walking in the "quartier de la Mission". The name comes from the fact that one of the first catholic Church was built in the area.
hie :) sorry to disturb you now when your comment is from 2 years ago. I am surfing around on youtube to gather volunteers, from as many countries as possible, for an online art event. would you be interested to take part and talk about privacy (theme of the event)? I'd be happy to answer if you have any questions. thank you :D
What i found interesting about your video is that it was natural, with fails, and that also it is unique on its kind...i mean, the mayority of the videos of tahiti show the island from a turistic point of view, and the thing is...thats not aunthentic. I think, the most interesting part was the conflict between languages jaja so real.
You are from French Polynesia? I tried to find the most local spots and explore there. I cannot wait to return to Tahiti and explore the island even more. Yes, not knowing much French, it was very hard to communicate with locals sometimes.
Agostina Gurgone that is so cool! Yes Tahiti can be very expensive but if you know where to get food and are willing to budget it isn’t much more than America. I will definitely be uploading some more vlogs on Tahiti. I hope to return sometime soon! Thanks again for watching. Do you have a channel?
Thank you for sharing this vlog. I always wanted to see the real side of Pape'ete. Where the tourist don't go to. Merci Beaucoup 👍💖😊 for being real....
Thanks for posting, I'll be going to Tahiti for the first time in a few months -- I'm trying to decide how long to stay, where, how; or perhaps move there for a while... :)
You can take the same walk thanks to Google Street View: www.google.com/maps/@-17.5465157,-149.5590068,3a,75y,212.66h,82.83t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sAF1QipP8DlxAQQnq7Hn--R9ZzW8W1dH2VQkdyime58VK!2e10!3e11!7i7680!8i3840 Here's the exact location -17.546506106320958, -149.55886765892186
1:12 white man YOU are the FOREIGNER in someone else's country....why should they know English. Especially in that poor neighborhood you're in? It's not like it's a tourist destination (the area you're in). YOU LEFT YOUR HOME (to go there) so it is YOUR responsibility to know/speak the language. If not stay in your hotel.
I’ve never really seen much of Tahiti. Just some of Mo’orea. I can’t wait to go again. It’s been 17 years. By the way, The little boy was asking who you’re waiting for.☺️. (Oops, I didn’t mean it as a reply)
