I'm an introvert. So, my routines haven't actually changed. My kids already did online school. The only thing that has changed is how often I shop for groceries, and we also don't go to the park every Saturday like we did before the pandemic. My kids go outside and play still. They just stay in our yard lol!! Happy Mother's Day a day late! 💜
Im the exact opposite, I'm noticing under the stress of a pandemic with a 6 year old who has chronic lung disease and worrying that anything that comes into our house is going to accidentally kill her I've fallen into old disordered habits to cope. 20 years recovered, and I feel like im right back to where I was from 16-23. Its really hard to get help.... especially when I was so embarrassed about it most people in my life don't even know this is a part of who I am. Everyone take care of yourself. The loss of control is real and hard to cope with.
if you feel so inclined, there are some telemedicine options that are opening up, especially for mental health services. might be worth looking into if you feel like you could benefit from them.
Really struggling with my mental health. I’m an extroverted introvert. I love being alone most of the time. But seeing loved ones in moderation does energize me. Also, I am a planner.. so having the unexpected task of schooling my kids was really hard to come to terms with mentally. It’s been a really long 2 months. I wish I could say I’ve handled it well, but I’ve shed a lot of tears and have yelled way more than usual which makes me sad and mad at myself. Trying to really take time each day to read my bible and get into the right mindset to be the best version of myself through all of this chaos. Thanks for the little distraction during a crazy Monday!
Hang in there I am a Mama who hasbeen homeschooling the last 7 years! Yelling and tears happen! I am a planner to! It would drive me batty to be thrown into homeschooling. You will be ok remember each day is a new one!
Christine: “counting calories can be really helpful if you’ve never done it” Dave: “it’s demoralizing “ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Took the words right out of my mouth. I’m tracking my calories after putting on the quarantine 10 🙁) have not worn real clothes in over 2 months and now I can’t 😩
My kids got me a cup/mug that says MOTHERS DAY 2020 The One Where We Were in Quarantine. I thought you would get a kick outta that being a Friends fan too!
Can I just say I'm so glad to have a fellow Idahoan in support of CBD products! I'm sure you're familiar with the stigma CBD products have in Idaho, and unfortunately many people are denied access to these products because of people'e assumptions and ignorance on these products. Will be ordering with your link - Thanks mama!
Girl I wish I'd put on weight so I didn't have to wear a belt. Belts aren't a cute thing for me, they're a necessity. I've tried to gain and it don't work. I eat more but then all I want to do is sleep. I'm a mom and wife and I can't do that.
My fiancé and I had an “ULTRAFEAST” where we ate everything we wanted since we had so many quarantine snacks and bad food. It got the food out of the house and then we were ready to get healthy. We’ve been doing really well since then. Good luck!
Thank you so much belatedly for wishing all women happy mothers' day! There are also many women out there who can't be mothers, thank you for including them. ♥️♥️♥️ The weird thing for me: I used to go to food for self-medication most of my life, and it took all my strength to not do it again during COVID. I actually lost weight, I am kind of counter-cyclical.
Listening to this like a podcast and thinking „I need a Christine in my life“!! Love you guys and man, I’m with you with losing some quarantine weight so thanks for the tips!!
Has anyone else mentioned- I love that you’re wearing the waffle fry shirt while talking about losing weight! Prayers for a fast recovery for Andrew ❤️ I’ve been trying not to count calories, but eat 80% fruit and veg, if I want something I just have a small amount (like if I want Mac n cheese, I’ll eat like 1/4 cup with a huge salad with lean protein)
I noticed I started eating just because I was bored at home when all of this started. Thats why I am counting calories right now to keep myself at least a little bit accountable and notice, when I am bored versus actually hungry.
I loss about 5 pounds in tbe last two months. Hope Andrew's arm is doing better, i broke my shoulder last year and and had to it replaced. Stay healthy and safe.
Omg yay I love that you are a biking family! My husband in the past 2 years has gotten into it big! Totally understand the drooling over bikes haha. He now has 3 all for different riding, I have a good solid one for basic riding but also need to upgrade to start going with him. So exciting! He gets comments riding all the time on how good he is for always being the biggest guy on the trail at 6ft 260. Since the pandemic started I decided no better time to start a health journey. I am down 30, and my hubs is down 40. You totally got this, just the motivation I needed today to keep plugging away!
You do not look at all like you’ve gained 6 pounds at all!! But six pounds is NOTHING!! Six pounds can just be “water weight gain”, also. (That fluctuates DAILY!!) One gallon of water (inside the body OR in a bucket or big bottle!!) = 8 lbs (on this planet!!) 🌎
I think the difference is when fit people mention small weight gain, is that they are trying their best to nip it in the bud before it becomes 20, 30, 100lbs gained and then it seems a lot harder to try and lose that. 6lbs of fat - which is likely what she gained from all the treats is a lot mass wise in a small frame! There’s no need to shame her because she isn’t obese.
@@dawnm5834 This is exactly accurate. I'm nipping it in the bud before it becomes a bigger problem, and on my frame we are talking about 5% of my total weight which is significant on anyone.
It's more about how your clothes fit. If she's having trouble with her clothes being tight consistently, yeah she probably did put on a few pounds and/or inflammation from a less healthy diet. This is speaking from experience. Right now I'm in the same place but it's stress from having to work in a high customer high demand retail environment right now while everyone else is safer at home.
Oh and that little puffiness when we wake up actually adds some youthfulness to the face, in my opinion. As we get old the volume of the facial skin goes away.
Random note... I was trying to get Tony’s seasoning, kept calling it uncle Tony’s to my partner. He was so confused at the store when he couldn’t find uncle Tony’s 😂😂 we now call it that too!
So I understand it's not for everyone, but I started a ketogenic diet the day after Easter, and as of today I've lost 16 lbs, that's less than 4 weeks of dieting! It might be worth a try if you want to get that little extra weight off.
I've been stay at home for over 7 weeks now. Five of those weeks I gained 13 pounds. That stopped last week. Changed mindset - back to meal prepping and healthy choices. First weigh-in to lose the pounds I'm down 4.2 pounds already. This situation has definitely changed a lot of our normal. Hopefully we will all come out stronger for the better. Hope Andrew is able to mend quickly.
I used to run just to be able to eat anything I want, and eat I did. Anything and everything. Turning 36 kocked that ability right out of me. Go figure. I'm totally with you on losing a few pounds, let's do it! 👊
mamilenial same! At 35 I can no longer enjoy the post run donuts and ice cream. Packed on 10 over the last month even tho (according to my Apple Watch) I’ve burned more calories than in any previous month. So frustrating. Let’s crush these goals 🙌🏻
Maybe that’s my problem. I turned 36 in November. I’ve gained about 10 pounds over this past year 😭. I personally believe it’s stress related, which has messed with my hormones, which has slowed down my metabolism.
I just love who you are.. you are real and down to earth and have so much to share. You could talk about anything and I would tune in and be glued to my monitor lol.
For me, I’ve lost weight. Working from home has encouraged me to cook healthier and eat smaller more frequent portions. That run was beautiful. PS Happy belated Mother’s Day
That’s the danger of keeping 20 to 30+ something bags of chocolate chips in the house! 😳🙄🤯😱 (The more chocolate chips around, the more temptation to eat them.) But extra 😍😋🤤 dark (or special dark) chocolate 🍫 IS GOOD for you (health wise!) Lol. Did you EVER notice that there are NO 😳🙄😲😱🤯 recipes for “leftover” chocolate?! 😲!!
We are that way with shows like Parks & Rec, Life in Pieces, and the Goldbergs. These are also shows that our kiddos will sit and watch with us too. They love them. They laugh so hard at them like we did the first few times around. Lol.
This trail run has inspired me. I'd been running, and had increased to about three miles. Then I started having some mild health issues, which set me back. So now, I'm ready to get back out there. What a beautiful run!
OMG, you are so funny and one of my favorite you tubers. I retired in February before this all started and was figuring it all out before this started. Joined the fitness center in my small town. It was going well, then COViD happened. Last week I finally faced my fears and did a weigh in, Yep, gained 5 pounds. I love to bake , make bread, ect. That’s why I love this channel. I don’t run, too old, I try to do a 1.5-2 mile walk everyday that weather allows. This video struck home with me. My son ( he is 31 now) when he was young, broke his thumb, arm, and each time, I’m like , “you’re fine” ( I’m a nurse) . When he broke his arm(16) , he told the Doctor, my Mom always says I’m fine when I break a bone. 🙄 thanks for calling me out Eric😂
THANK YOU for this video Christine!! We all needed to hear this about weight and eating healthy. It was also really awesome to hear Dave’s perspective- Thank you again!! 🙏
My mother is not in my or my sisters life, its her choice. But gave our dad cook books for mothers day. Out dad loves to cook. He wants me right down you bread recipes so he can try them out.
Girl we are all on the struggle bus right now. Making bad food choices, too much social media, too much chocolate and cool whip. UGH.. my routines are so screwed up right now as well and stress has been at an all time high. CBD def helps with anxiety as well as just smoking a joint. Psoriasis is autoimmune and you should tell Dave to eliminate all gluten, dairy and get his body more ph balanced, try taking a tbsp pf ACV twice a day in about 4oz of water. Good luck
Praying Andrew heals fast and you are accident free the rest of the year! Looking forward to some health conscious and tasty meals. We made fresh baked bread today as we are completely out and I’m still quarantined. It turned out amazing. My emergency pantry has held out pretty well. I am thankful I restocked two weeks ago, but my instant pot, air fryer and your tips are getting us by! :)
Well I was doing pretty good until I got started on the Fiber One! I didn’t know these existed until watching your channel and seeing them and thinking I might buy one box just to try them! 60 boxes later ( over an extended period of time except for the one time I bought 23 boxes because they were on sale at Krogers)- oh man- after reading back my comment just now- I see my problem exactly! Dang these Fiber One bars! I say I’m not buying anymore but it’s like you with the Naan! My hand goes crazy and next thing I know, there are 10 boxes in my cart! Ok going to search out a Fiber One Anonymous! Sorry for Andrew’s arm! Hope it heals quickly for him! Poor guy!
I looooove your personality! I just sit and watch your videos while I work, and I can't help but laugh at how you say things! It makes this quarantine stay at home teacher so much better!
I was 171 in March and now I’m 192 I flipping cried when I saw my weight go up 🥺...this girl will work hard on her weight lifting to get it down as well as my stretches and cardio
I live with my daughter and grandson and Jonah had a hair line fracture in his collar bone in May. A week later he went to school carrying his backpack on one shoulder but the pull of so much weight snapped his collar bone in half!
The best thing would obviously a mask that fits from the get go, but in situations like that I recommend tying the elastic that goes behind your ears to make it shorter and the mask tighter^^ Because if your nose isn't covered, you lose half the reason to wear a mask at all
I have gained 6 pound! And I 'feel' them. And i'm not as 'regular' as I was before covid. I'm adding hiking/walking with my dog more, and doing hiit ladder workouts off youtube, but not the same as the Y classes i'm used to, or all the steps I get in working at school...first week for me eating clean and purposely getting more cardio in.
My favourite tip for temptations: don't have them around and ask yourself why you are having it and with what healthy habit you can replace it with. Seeing the numbers for what they are is also a great. And if the mask is slipping, twist the handles once, it helps.
Two shows for you one the episodes are 22 minutes long and it's called workin moms. The second blacklist longer episodes but so worth it. Love your videos and glad I found your channel
I have lost 8 pounds. We have gotten take out only once. I have cooked every other meal from scratch or a box pizza. Also limiting to one Diet Coke per day and the rest is water. I had been thinking that eating out too much was causing weight gain and this has proven it for me. Also very few purchased cookies. Our new rule is that any treat must be made from scratch also. I read a while ago that people make much better choices when they actually cook their own food.- i believe that We have decided to keep going on the no eating out and see where we end up once the stress is lowered Great video- I hope Andrew heals quickly I like to watch really old TV shows like Perry Mason and Mannix, etc. They are similar to Friends for me
TV show rec: Derry Girls. It’s on Netflix. It’s a comedy about a group of Catholic schoolgirls from Derry, Ireland. The episodes are about 22 minutes long. Each season is 6 episodes and there are only 2 seasons, so far. It’s a really smart, funny show and brief enough not to challenge your ADD.
I drink so much coffee its ridiculous. I am in grad school and work full time overnights. Quarantine has been rough. I will say your videos have helped me to be more mindful about what I'm cooking and more creative when adding veggies to my meals.
Whenever I kick my soda habit (Canada dry gingerales) I lose about 15 pounds. I was cutting back just as all this started, I decided to keep them around for now and I'll quilt again whenever I can go back to work.
I appreciate your honesty!! Not everyone would be willing to tell all their followers that they gained weight during the lockdown...most would be bragging about their indoor exercise routines. This is true, I have seen videos about that, lol. I ordered some Crystal Light drink mix that you use and I am considering the CBD oil. I just need to do some more research on it. I don't know enough about it. Thanks for the motivation to get some of these pounds off.
I finally finished my junior year of college and wow have I gained weight since starting school. I've decided to start a weight loss journey and get my body into shape. I want to get down to 160 from 235, and I know your videos are gonna help me with the motivation to do so, thank you for your content!
I can totally relate to the COVID 19 or Quarantine 15 or whatever it’s going to be called! But I’m with you, and I need to do better! Poor Andrew, my daughter had a buckle fracture on her wrist a couple years ago too from falling off the monkey bars at school. They told me this kind of fracture typically heals well though so prayers for quick healing for him!
I gained twenty pounds and felt awful!!! I am over six ft. And was just miserable. So I started to lose the weight...was then laid off but found a new job. Sitting all day!! Still working from home. Bought a under the desk cycle thingy. Like a cubi. And that helped!!
Not gonna say. Word... but I hear you on all point even child with broken arm...had one of those....so good luck on the fitness....sunshine helps with everything...anyhow how about doing a video on what you read, what books you buy and what you borrow from the library, also your favourite reads and most memorable book...hay hope your feeling better...., nothing worse than being out of sorts
I've been eating way more candy than is normal for me. I normally try to not have candy in the household because I don't have willpower around it. But then at the end of March my husband had the virus, he recovered and bought me a big bag of chocolate as a thank you for taking care of him. Then I've been craving Starburst and it was on sale at the store. Plus yesterday for mother's day my husband got me a sharing bag of m&m's. Oh and my daughter made cupcakes for mother's day. So yesterday I noticed I was getting a zit. I very rarely get zits. I need to get off all this sugar.
My husband and I were discussing the corona-15 and descided to loose weight!! My gym gives lessons outside since today!!! So happy!!! So my husband and I will join you!!!!!
This time has been the most stressful of my life. Bought a house, moved to a new state, and finished nursing school all in a 2 week span. I'm dying a little bit inside. So I've been cooking more than ever. Which means eating more than ever and using the grocery store as an excuse to go out.
Look for a little shop that does crafts or sewing call and ask if you can get masks for your family and if there are any resources available. In my town masks are required to go to any shop or store.
I also put on weight! 4/23 was the day I stood up and put the candy down. I also count calories when I’m trying to lose weight. Dave is right! At first it is demoralizing. Then you get the numbers, hit a groove and boom 💥 weight loss!
Hope Andrew doesn’t have a lot of pain and heals quickly. I actually am focused on loosing weight and even though I bake things from time to time I haven’t changed my eating habits at all through this time.
I am 2 min into the video and I Totally feel your pain regarding loss of control on so many levels. I started intermittent fasting a year ago, on and off but since February more seriously. This quarantine is the perfect time for it. It gives me focus and a small thing I can control. I've actually lost weight. Please look into it. It's a lifestyle and it's very freeing to see results right away. Good luck!
