I gave a TedTalk!? How Three Words Changed My Life Forever

8 years ago I was told 3 words that changed my life forever “You Have Cancer”
I mean having cancer twice is a flex I know but I didn’t think I’d make it this far let alone giving a TedTalk about my story
Glad I can say that I’m a cancer free man now :)

I hope you know- you weren’t chosen for a TedTalk because you have a prosthetic leg, or because you had cancer twice or because you escaped death twice. You were chosen because of you. Who you were through it and who you are now.

Not you can do the "Ted Talk", you were your usual charming self. You were collected and interesting, and explained your journey to those that did not know it. You are a living, cancer free man and how you got there is an inspiration to all. Your audience and all of us have gained so much from your.

I'm not an amputee, but your outlook and sense of humor have been so helpful to me as I'm learning to navigate new and worsening symptoms of chronic illness. There is a time to greive, but there is also a time to choose joy and life. Your videos help me choose the later without shaming myself for the moments of grief. It feels like an understatement to say thank you, but thank you so much ❤️

I love your story. My story is not exactly like yours but it has some similarities. One morning about 10 months ago I couldn't get off the couch my knee hurt so bad that I had to call the ambulance. They take me into the ER and do a scan of my knee and tell me the pain is caused by a tumor and by the way you have stage 4 metastasized breast cancer. I said "excuse me, what?" Oh and it has spread to your brain and if we don't do something about it you have a couple of weeks to live. I was devastated. They started radiation and chemo and about a month later I once again couldn't get off the couch so I once again called the ambulance they took me to the ER and said "yeah the cancer is in your bones and your hip has fractured from the inside and you need a hip replacement. Then while I was getting a scan in the hospital post hip surgery they were transferring me from the bed to the scanner and they dropped me on my right arm and broke it. I had to do another surgery with rods and pins in my right arm to correct that. One top of all that it was in my lungs and I coughed so hard I broke 5 ribs at once. It was a rough time all around. I of course had to quit working because of all this but I didn't care, I just wanted to live through it. Through sheer will, luck, amazing doctors, and a very positive attitude I prevailed and the chemo and radiation worked. The doctors were floored. I have never seen doctors so excited in my life. They said my results were "miraculous" and "better than they could have imagined". While I am not cancer free, the cancer in my system is not active. I am continuing to get chemo treatments but I am very glad to say that through a lot of physical therapy and hard work I am ambulatory on my new hip and back at work. Something that 10 months ago seemed impossible. I've watched many of the videos on your channel and I am very impressed by your courage and strength. Having gone through the fire of cancer myself I know how easy it is to let despair creep in and overshadow hope and the inner resources it takes to overcome that. It's nice to know there is someone out there that is a kindred spirit in this battle. Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted you to hear my story and to know that you are most definitely not alone in this fight, that others are there struggling, fighting, and feeling the same way you are.

Your mindset is so beautiful; the fact that you can acknowledge the sucky bits of cancer, and somehow be positive about it at the same time is a testament to how strong your character is. Every time I watch your videos, I’m reminded of how God makes good things out of bad situations, even when we can’t see it at the time. Thank you for sharing your story! 😊

Running/jogging/walking is a prerequisite & necessary for health. You are remarkable. Thank you for having the strength, courage, and heart to stand up and advocate. You have something that majority lack. The fact that you were on Tedtalk is a huge feat and accomplishment. My heart is so happy for you. Thank you for sharing this and for being exactly who you are. What was the clinical trial you participated in? My boy (13 yrs old) was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (Jan 2024) and last month had his right leg amputated. He was a multi-time Mountain Bike XC state champion. Now he has one leg and crutches. Next month he will get fitted for a prosthetic. I am very interested in the trial you participated in since there is a high chance we will be in that situation.

I dont know how known he is in the US but this just gave me memories of how passionately we would all get ready to do the marathon of hope each September in school growing up, this is like seeing a modern day terry fox. inspiring others to hope and hold onto that positive mindset. "I just wish people would realize that anything's possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try. Even if I don't finish, we need others to continue. It's got to keep going without me." ~Terry Fox

Im thankful to see your journey and its a miracle. God has blessed you I wanted to share the Gospel that all men need, the Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) this means we all deserve death and separation from a perfect and holy God. But God did not leave us for dead, He sent His only begotten Son to die in yours and my place, so that anyone who believes in Him and repents of sin will be saved from separation from God, and have eternal life! I urge you please put your faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him, He promises to save all who cry out to Him and have a humble heart. We arent guaranteed another day so we must repent of sin and seek Him today while He may be found.

Hi my name is hazrat ullah i am from Pakistan.. I'm reaching out from Pakistan with a heart full of hope & a soul that's struggling. I lost my leg above the knee a year ago & it's been a dark journey since. I've seen your story & felt a glimmer of hope. Your strength inspires me! I'm desperate for a prosthetic leg & treatment in the USA. I've attempted to end my life once, but something inside me whispers 'hold on'. Please, can you help me get an appointment with a doctor in the ? I'll cover all my expenses. Additionally, I humbly request your assistance in expediting my visa process. I have an interview appointment scheduled for , but I need an emergency appointment due to my critical condition. The embassy requires a letter from a doctor to expedite my appointment. Can you please help me get this letter? Your support would mean the world to me. Let's rise above our challenges together! I'm counting on your kindness to help me regain my independence. Please help me .

Seeing he has 1.1 million subscribers, this must mean he makes a good amount of money per 1,000 views, and seeing how many views he gets per video, and how often he posts on shorts, we can safely assume that this is his job, his career. He’s doing what he loves, and is able to make a job out of it.
