Welcome to TomFM! In today's Football Manager 2022 experiment video I gave Andorra a £1 BILLION TV Deal for 200 years in FM22 to see what would happen. I wasn't going to stop until a team from Andorra won the Champions League. This is one of my favourite Football Manager experiments to do, and this one is a lot of fun!

😂 I know that the country’s population wouldn’t stay static but it’s cracking me to tears to think that, well, the MAJORITY of Andorra could literally be attending a derby. Like, EVERYONE 😂

In Germany alone Berlin, Munich and Dortmund have Stadiums that could fit the entire country of Andorra like, the entire population at once, without any hassle whatsoever (except for traffic tho)

I had such a situation with Andorra in FM20... but then again, that was with my own help. But even with me almost single-handedly shooting them up to fourth in the UEFA League coefficients... they only won a single continental competition, a Conference League (in 2060, the very season I stopped managing and started holidaying). The National Team somehow got to third-place in 2086 in their very first World Cup appearance, and after giving not a single good newgen while I was managing.

Great video, but just one thing about the reveal at the end: I think FM is smart enough to know that there's an individual TV deal for each team in the first division, and with that info, they give a similar TV deal to the promoted teams. I believe that explains why Ranger's ended up in the top flight. At least that's what I've experienced in my road to glory save in Portugal. That or since Andorra's first division started to be noticed, they somehow ended with a sugar daddy or something.

Thought this video was going to be boring cause the premise was done alot, but the ending was a huge twist... appreciate going 80+ years into the future. One thing I would love to see is MLS teams replace Sky Bet Championship teams (but remain american, as well as league rules retain the salary cap etc), and see how that effect the British Pyramid, and see if Championship Teams would still attract british players etc while not in the pyramid.

My home city: Pop: 500k Stadium attendance: One third, 13k Andorra: Pop: 77k Stadium attendance: Full, ~20k I really think that it definetly is impressive to sell the stadium out when it demands a quarter of your population to do so..... i mean you cant have the entire country sitting in the stadium, can you? :D

Maybe gate receipts are shared between home and away teams in Andorra since all clubs share the same stadium? If so, I imagine Rangers got promoted and picked up a lot of money from those 40,000 capacity stadiums, yoyo'd between the top two divisions for several years gradually building up more and more gate money until they were able to compete, avoid relegation and stabilise in the top flight. Top clubs with their maxed out facilities were probably generating solidly good newgens who wouldn't be good enough for the super clubs and would drop down to the second flight strengthening the teams there and probably being bought back by top tier at heavily overinflated prices once they fulfilled their potential. That way the money and quality of players could filter down from the top flight to the second league. Just some theories. Incredible that they developed into a super club without the TV money though.

These type of videos inspired my current save of a build a nation… I downloaded a custom database of the Maltese leagues… I started in the third division. My second season in the top flight we qualified for the conference league qualifying where we beat the Montenegro 2nd team. I will not stop until Malta win a major tournament in international or we win a European cup as a league. Maltese people. I’m here for you.

Ranger's would have still benefitted from the massive investment as the other teams using the money to progress in European competitions would then have a domino effect of increased Andorran reputation, better regens etc. The entire country would have benefitted, thus allowing Ranger's to then have better players and win trophies. So your TV deal did definitely help

A lot of footballers would move just for the money if enough is offered, in FM you can´t make those type of signings. If someone is earning 40k per week you can´t just swoop in and offer 150k since they wouldn´t be interested in the first place in the game.
