Kirby should be a Normal type and then changing in the opponent's type when he inhales them, it's literally the concept of the character

Marth's sword is actually effective at dragon slaying because it's made from the fang of the Divine Dragon Naga, so really he's not Ice type, it's about the fact that Dragon is super effective against Dragon.

The Shulk thing was revealed in Xenoblade 1 though. A remake of that game was released just 2 years ago (and I played it through this year), so not spoiling major plot details would be appreciated. Many people are still getting into the series, especially with the Game of the Year nomination and Smash Bros inclusion. The Xenoblade community tends to be very careful with spoilers (coming up with euphemism like "Seven" or "Catalyst", for example), as old spoilers are still spoilers.

Listen a lot of these were reaches but like... you're absolutely right, if I sat down and assigned everyone types, it sure as hell wouldn't be an even split lmao.

You can make super effective matchups in Smash (kind of). You get a list of each character and their type (for verification), you each choose your character, and you adjust the balance (that menu that allows you to make some characters more powerful or weaker. I can't remember where it is in-game, though) based off of the matchup. The fun part about this is that you can run 1 or 2 types per character, since you can go 3 up, or 3 down during the custom balance. Edit: I want someone to make a mod that replaces Ganon with King Leonidas. Mostly just for the F-tilt.

The best part about these videos is stretching lore, move sets, and appearances to fit what you need it to be.

I think if you were to revise a lot of the characters so they had dual typing (when it makes sense) you could do a second video. That way each type would have a pool of characters that you could choose from, thusly avoiding the lame characters.

Obviously only one type is used for each character here, but I could imagine Banjo and Kazooie being Ground/Flying, which is a cool idea.

DK being Fighting/Ground for example, Bayonetta Fairy/Poison, Bowser Fire/Dragon and Palutena Fairy/Flying etc Would make things more complicated but also more interesting when going for typed teams. Loved the video (and creative idea)!

Byleth uses bones like Marowak. Marowak is Ground.

Mythra should be Psychic, shes able to process information about them simply by just being around them as well as reality warping abilities

Actually your poison team hits the vibe hard man. Nailed it. Maybe inkling can a different hair color like yellow? Fits into the hazardous waste sign's color wheel a lot better. I'd think of 2 loops of character swaps. I know you said it wasn't the point of the video but this was just fun to me lol I'd put piranha plant in poison. Then I'd move Bayo to dark. Turn Dark Pit into Pit and move him to Flying. Put Duck Hunt in Grass G&W water, link to fairy, toon link to normal Reasonings: -Poison cloud is a staple in piranha plant's moveset, only after ptooie -Bayo has a witchy persona, which fits into dark's theming -Pit's whole persona is that he can fly but can't read. In my mind anyways lmao. Plus his stages all point him to Fairy or Flying type, and flying is a bit more difficult -Duck Hunt's entire game takes place in grass or grassy areas. It's a dog, and a duck. Nothing crazy about them, just a normal dog/duck duo. Closest thing to real animals in the game -G&W has turtle. Water is a bit hard, but fits better than Link -Link moves to fairy besides Young Link -Toon Link just fits with the normal vibe. I can't exactly put it into words. Someone help? Y'all know what I mean

KRool should've been Steel. It makes sense when you play the games he's in with his crazy machines and the factory he makes on Donkey Kong Island. His belly is also more like steel than rock.

I like to think that magic themed attacks are more for fairy, yet cosmic level feats points toward psychic. So hero is a fairy type, kazuya is dark fighting.

Obviously he was kinda reaching for some of these types lol but I have thought of this concept before: what if Smash had type effectiveness in it? For everyone applicable? So like, not only like the Pokémon matchups but like, Shulk’s Monado doing more damage against Robots, or Marth’s sword doing bonus damage to “dragons” like Corrin, or some characters being immune to certain attacks based on their own typing, like Ganondorf being unable to be hit by Sephiroth Side B or something. It would take a LOT of thinking and balancing but the concept is interesting

I feel like all the characters in smash that would be a solo type you could just add the fighting type there and they’ll be good if you were doing duel types but something like Kirby or Villager/Isabelle that use items to attack just with “accidents” or Kirby that could be like an already duel type like a Normal/Flying type but the normal type changes every time he absorbs another fighter and then he could gain their primary type.
