When I get a house, I want to have built in shelves with a ladder. I will need to have bookshelves covering all of the walls. I currently have a library in my apartment & a library a in my old room at my parent's house. The books I have read/don't plan on reading anytime soon are stored at my parent's & my TBR books are at my apartment.
I am so goddamn jealous, that's an incredible library. It's so beautiful. And the functionality! The effort! The personality! The creativity! The vision! You could honestly get into interior decoration, I'd straight up pay you your weight in gold for your services if I could. (And yes, as a 6 feetish tall lady, I can confirm, ladders are absolutely a necessity).

I’ve been dying for the Murphy desk, too. I mean, I have no need or space for it but I still want it. Lol. I love how it all came together for you even if I had to cover my eyes at the spider parts.

You’re so lucky to have your stepdad who obviously loves you enough to spend his time making you such a big bookcase & ladder 😀 Sometimes people need to mind their own beeswax, If you want a ladder (if the rooms big enough or not) then you do you boo! Hi! This is the first video of yours that I have seen and I am excited to start following your channel! I love your aesthetic and creativity. Also, I relate on the side of being short and actually needing a latter to reach things (although I do not have a latter... yet). But short or not everyone has the right to have a latter in their home libraries! "Am I the envy of my friends? No. They don't care." also super relatable! Not many of my friends like to read, or at least not to the extent that I would like lol.
This is genuinely the most beautiful library I've ever seen. I never knew that my aesthetic was dark academia. I'm ordering brown paper because I was recently thinking how can I change my covers cause I don't like them and bam! You're video came up. THANK YOU!!!

I love your library and am envious of how it looks even if your friends are not. I have a library room and would love to have built in bookshelves as that gives more room for more books.
I love all of it. It is perfection. Re doing both my libraries, particularly the shelves is on my long term to do list. I wish I knew how to build them. If my dad were still alive, he would have done it for me long long ago.

Love everything, yes a ladder for us short people is a dream, the whole room is so beautiful, except the spiders but only because I’m terrified of them 😆😅 also love the covering your books idea where you write the rating and anything else you want, that’s such a cool idea 😍
im going to make my library starting with my kindle books. many of them will be hardback and a couple im getting leather bound. im starting with 36 books.

Oh my god, Ali, this is so pretty. I think that desk set-up is my favorite part (besides the bookshelves lol), that just looks like such a nice work space. If you ever need to change careers, you'd make a bomb interior decorator. Why would people ask why you had that ladder??? The real question is why WOULDN'T you want a library ladder??? (Short girls unite though.)
It was a dark color before and the room doesn't get a lot of natural light so it felt small and I had trouble with filming :( I would loveeeee dark green walls

Do you have any recommendations for where to get library bookshelves like yours? I just inherited my Mom's house after she passed away last December from lung cancer and the house needs alot of work. I want to turn the den into a library but have found nowhere that I can get floor to ceiling bookshelves.
for shelves like mine the only recommendation I have is to build them. It's hard to find floor to ceiling since no everyone has the same height walls. I've seen people use IKEA shelves and hack them as if they are floor to ceiling (lots of videos on those). Any shelves you could find could be hacked, but that still requires some building involved.
