Usually the reason stylists charge so much is because you pay for the knowledge they have about hair and all that but I agree this was not worth paying that much. At most maybe like $75
My salon gives a better experience and I could do that same haircut. I hate textureizing shears. You can acheive a far better result with point cutting. Texturizing shears are awful for curly or wavy hair.
Poor woman, waste of money. She basically paid for the bits of products they used on her hair that did nothing interesting. Another underwhelming hairstyle
So why did this haircut cost $1500?? Also, I wish she had expressed some honest thoughts at the end of the video. I felt confused when the video just ended after the final reveal of the cut. This video really has no story.
Good point! And I would have liked to have seen her styling her own hair days later. My $60 haircut also looks like a $1500 haircut after I leave the salon!
I'm not a hairstylist, but the guy didn't do anything that a normal hairstylist wouldn't do?? I lost it at "I call these texturizing scissors." NO JOKE, MAN. You're literally just paying for a fancy name.
Girl, just leave a conditioner in your hair, crunch up the wet curld with some curl cream and let them air dry! Your Hair will look amazing for almost no money and no work! it is ridiculus that he charges this much!
Exactly! While I think it is important to strategically thin out thick, curly hair sometimes so it's not weighed down, really all she needs is to wet comb her hair when she conditions and then apply something like Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Her hair would respond so well to that.
Its easier for us hairdressers to have very simple to manage hair including no hair haha. It helps you stand out and you don't have the whole judgment hairdressers tend to get when they don't style it majorly everyday. Or when they have a bad hair day or something.
I love how hairdressers almost always straighten curly hair after cuts because they always overwork it and instead of just washing it again, they're like "nah i'll just straighten it cuz it's frizzy" Dear hairdressers, PLEASE learn how to work with curly hair. Signed, the whole curly community
I only ever straighten curly hair when the client wears it that way more than curly so it will be even when it’s straight. But if it is worn curly then I will diffuse it and style it that way. And he is so stupid to taking texture shears to curly hair... so dumb...🙄
Katie - Reapfield SO TRUE! Every time I'm going to cut my hair I tell them what works and doesn't work with my curly hair. So i told this girl BELIEVE ME don't blowdry it with a roundbrush PLEASE DONT. and she was like "aw no, you just need to know how to do it right, then it wont look frizzy". when she finished, all she said was: "so, should i braid it for you?" Um yes please, i cant go out of here looking like a wet dog.
I feel the same way! My hair is so insanely curly to where I’m glad that I have a hair dresser that has curly hair like me and that can actually relate what works and what not works. I’ve had horrendous hair cuts in the past just because they don’t know how to style and cut curly hair and be relatable with it.
I LAUGHED really loud after watching this. I am a hairstylist and I can give you the same cut or BETTER. I graduated from the AVEDA Institute. I trained under the brand DevaCurl to learn how to cut Wavy/Curly hair (because beauty school only teaches the BASICs). I then worked for ULTA and was exposed to all things RedKen and became a RedKen stylist. My prices are nowhere near this $1,500 haircut. I charge $45 to $90 at the most and I base the price on the length and thickness of your hair. Longer/Thicker hair means more time and work spent on your hair. I'm more REALISTIC versus ridiculous compared to other stylists who charge these big price tags.
Niff A good haircut is going to style itself, making it less daily maintenance for the client. It will also look good if it were to go unstyled. Also, a really good cut will look great for a longer period of time and grows out nicely. But for it to be in the hundreds, you are paying for the famous hairdresser at that point.
And when he said scissors I about shit myself I was like if your gonna charge somebody that much money and educate them please for the love of god use correct terminology texturizing shears
Yyyeeaa... I didn't want to be "that person".. But honestly your only paying for the shop itself&the pricey products.. I want to the leave the salon frizz free..
Well I paid about 20 dollars (18 euros) for my haircut one month ago and it turned out AMAZING & they used the same method to dry the hair. They are paying his name and products for sure but still not worth the money! xx
This girl wrote in an article that it didn't look much different at first but in the weeks after she didn't have to style it and she actually liked wearing it down and there isn't any more frizz, I wish I had the time at great clips to analyze and cut hair according to how it falls but we get payed based off our hair cut timing
Nah there got be both high-end and low-end places for females, where it might just cost way low for girls. For us guys there are places at either ends.
Speaking as a hairdresser... that was a REDICULOUS price for what she got... it was mostly theater that could be achieved with traditional cutting techniques at a FRACTION of the cost! That guy's had serious gall...
for anyone wondering its $1500 because owner himself (Rossano Ferretti) cut her hair. regular haircuts at his salons are like $150-250, but i guess because he is the owner and his time is worth more the haircut costs more. but tbh still not worth it!
I hate to be mean, but I really liked her hair before the cut. I did not like the after. This was most definitely not a $1,500 hair cut. I once spent $400 on a hair cut at the Jose Eber salon on Rodeo Drive and my hair looked amazing for months afterwards. And I thought the price of that was insane!
Sooo he gives her the haircut that everyone learns in the first couple weeks of cosmetology school and curls her hair with a blow dryer... something I did every day for nearly a year and the client paid the student salon $15 and my $3 tip. Ooookay.
When she talked about her hair before it gave off so much sadness and almost like disappointment or insecurity. Love that she got this makeover! You're gorg, be confident and love your hair!
You kidding be, I thought for that price there’s gonna be like a keratine treatment or something and a spectacular hairdye but it’s just cutted and blow dried
This is absurd. I got multiple layers of black box dye lifted (any stylist will know how hard this is!), olaplex treatment, head massage, colour- which included shadow root and balyage technique, cut, layers, blow drying and styling done in one session for probably less than a quarter of what she paid. Plus the stylists were amazing and managed to lift my hair with minimum damage so my hair came away looking and feeling better than ever. The fact that someone could pay what it would take me three weeks to earn for a slight trim is mindblowing.
Not going to lie, but my best haircuts came from Great Clips because I would always asks for the same stylist. Doesn't matter where you go, it's about finding the right hair stylist.
Kudos to the stylist for being able to charge that much . . . but the haircut itself was so basic -- a few inches off the length and some texturing (a big no-no for curly hair) on the ends.
The girl has such beautiful hair and I think it was a really nice cut without totally changing the general shape which is the real key to good cutting, getting the hair to sit well as it naturally falls. Really pretty
Where I live, I could get that haircut for 7-8 dollars. Definitely under 10 dollars. I can't understand what he did so differently from normal hair dressers.
For $1,500 haircut, The water to wash and rinse my hair should come from the purest water, like the artic or something like it. The shampoo, conditioner, & hair treatment must be from the best of the best, holy whale blubber preferably And for drying the hair the heat should come from the warmest part of the equator. But in reality, my hair dresser is a good on me paying $25 and tells me jokes 😂 for free 😁
Maybe this was a typo...cuz in Europe they use a comma to separate dollars from cents....maybe the title was meant to be, I got a $15 hair cut. That would make more sense after seeing this video.
Yeah, I mean all he did was cut it, add some product and then blow dry it - and it looked so much better than before! But any hairdresser could have done that, for far less than $1500 as well!
lmaooo I was like, "I know for sure the cut is gonna be super simple, but the styling will probably fool it a bit." NOPE. not even the styling was impressive. Honestly, hats off to this man for hustling like that 😂
Why is the video so short? Sometimes it takes an hour for a shampoo cut and style. A 10 minute video would be nice. Curly hair usually has more texture than straight hair so I’m surprised he wanted to add more texture. The price seems like clickbait. I mean where was the extra special treatment or hair care products made from some ridiculously priced ingredients? The average haircut with a shampoo and style is around $26/50 depending on how fancy of a salon you go to at least where I live for women’s haircuts. I’m missing the wow factor here. I’m sure he is a talented stylist ,but I don’t see anything worth that much money. If he worked 8hrs a day 5 days a week for $100 a client for 50 weeks he could make. $200,000 a year with two weeks vacation time. If that’s not enough charge $200 per hr and make $400,000 a year. How much money do people need now to be satisfied? I mean in general (not trying to pick on him) . Greed is not a good thing. Maybe if I was a Multi millionaire or a billionaire I would pay that much for a haircut, because of excessive disposable income.
Damn.. she spent 1500 dollars, on a normal hair cut? I was expecting like full out hair masks, and treatments, colour, and hair cut... instead it was literally just a wash, cut and style. The same thing you can get anywhere for way cheaper.
Uh... I could have cut your hair a few inches shorter in your bathroom for free and gotten the same result. Hole no one actually paid more that $20 for that.
Her hair definitely looks better but not for $1500 🤦🏼♀️ She needed the right products for her beautiful wavy locks. Seeing her hair I have hair envy 💕
Her hair looks nice after. I am just VERY confused as to why that haircut cost $1500. They didn’t show special products or fancy techniques and she didn’t dye it. Totally robbed. Regardless if he did a good job.
Uhhh...hmmm. I thought he was gonna explain to her how to take care of her curly hair - not just straighten it & add curls back onto her hair. 😤 I’m pretty disappointed by this vid. I expected a lot more for $1500 than a trim!
I think I bought those same thinning shears on Amazon for 20 bucks. That’s 1500 dollars that she literally wasted....that cut could have been done at Borics. I felt like she went to see a psychic......scam bam thank you mam.
I used to go to this place that was 7,50euro for the cut, so no wash no style no dry. It was the most liberating haircut ever! hahaha Hate it when they make me look all fancy and I am not able to reproduce the styling and than later realize they styling was to conceal a botched cut
