I purchased several Mak-90's for less than 200 bucks back when they first came out. I still have them and they are awesome rifles. The CNC Warrior AK muzzle thread kit is the ticket for fixing the barrel, you will have to use a crush washer with your muzzle device but that makes it easier to time. I also ditched the thumbhole stock and thick front handguards for more updated furniture along with an enhanced safety. I've had mine for over 30 years and they have thousands of rounds through them and are still as accurate as the day I purchased them.
I have 8 of these and would buy another 20 of them. So basic, so overbuilt, so badass. The 1.5 mm receiver and the heavier barrel make them much more enjoyable to shoot than standard AKM.
In the styro box it came with three 5 round mags, a sling, a chest rig for 10rd moon clips, 1/2 cleaning rod, one green plastic oil bottle, and a tiny screwdriver tool kit.
I have a Norinco Ak that has a over and under stock with a full package in 1988 and it was around 400.00 dollars out the door , and it is a blue bolt which is rare. I have not fired it much but over the years . Times I did fire it it never jammed even once. People think because it was made in China that it is poor quality but they are dead wrong . Norinco makes guns for the Chinese military and poor quality is not tolerated . These were the guns used in Viet Nam and other conflicts , not the Russian models. Very underrated rifles.
I know my stamped MAK 90 is not a perfect 90° on the back side. I got a Magpul folding & with some filing I could get the rear screw in but to n get the most inner under the recoil spring still needed 1/16th of an inch to work. Didn't use because of magpuls locking setup, it works great. My milled MAK 90 back has the 90°them goes under with a 45° cut. Still has the wood furniture on it. 😊
My father used to have one and man he hunted plenty of deer with it. Plenty of memories with this rifle. Unfortunately I live in California and will not be able to obtain one…
