Like others have said, the fact that you share the unexpected challenges that arise along with your beautiful successes is so helpful . Rarely have things gone according to 'plan' for me ... but it is the way I learn and try making changes. I'm glad you went with a new Betta...so gorgeous. 🙏

Just gonna say, the super glue & cotton pad method is no joke. I just built a waterfall for a paludarium using that method and it is solid. I used 10 pounds of blue seiryu stone pieces. Now i can pick up thy whole waterfall as 1 piece. If you are on the fence about MJ's advice, don't be. Solid skills and advice on this channel.

Even with all the problems along the way, it turned out really beautiful. I have a hang on the back just like that one, and I had to make sure it was tilted towards the tank a little bit.

Have you ever had an issue with bettas jumping out of an aquarium? I heard from many people who say that it's dangerous to keep them in an aquarium without a lid. (I want to build a nice little betta-scape myself, but I'm a bit scared) As always great scape and great video! I'm loving your videos since you had about 5k subs. Props to the growth in content and quality since then! :)

as long as the fish is well fed, you shouldn’t have a problem with them jumping out

I would love to see a tank design where the tank belongs in a peninsula configuration (~2x1 tank with one short side facing a wall, so the two king sides and the end are all visible to the viewer) the idea that makes this design interesting is that you would have a triangle setup facing the long side, but it is in the center of the tank from the short side because you’ll be looking at it from all thee angles

HOTB filters leak a bit too often. I retired all of mine for that reason.

My head goes It needs fifth rock ! The uneven numbers rules is burned unto my brain since i was a landscaper. Haha But it looks amazing. I love your 'simple' but effective and beautifull scapes. Hey. I'm fairly new to the hobby and was wondering what kind of aquarium glue/adhesive you'd recommend. It seems like the majority of brands are literally just regular old superglue. Im starting to work on my first larger tank, a 40 gallon, and would appreciate the input.

For hardscape I always use liquid type cyanoacrylate super glue in combination with cotton pads, just like I showed in this video. For plants you can use the gel type cyanoacrylate super glue.

You should let them flare at each other for a few minutes everyday mj. Groomers usually do that to maintain good form for their tails and fins

"I don't like to see the wall" A tank without a background causes stress and harm to many fish. I've heard it's even illegal in some places. By putting a background on the tank the fish can stop stressing about predators coming at them from all directions, one direction is safe.

What Betta did you get and what was the issue? In y experience they are the easiest fish to care for besides Guppies.

@@themountain59 different forms, different breeds. They all showed signs of dropsy/pineconing after a while, never had one make it longer than a year and a half. Never had problems with other fish.

Yeah that's possible, just make sure you select plants that grow okay without CO2

That is completely possible and very simple. I also make many types of tanks without co2 but the plants are still green and grow stably. That depends a lot on you choosing the right type of tree
