I appreciate this channel so much. You show how to set up turtles for healthy lives without spending a fortune. Your playlist on filters is exactly what I needed. Other channels spend almost no time on this important subject except to tell us to buy expensive filters and then they seem to only break down and cause problems. Now that I know how to build MY OWN filter, I can control the cost and the maintenance easily.

I’m so jealous. HES BEAUTIFUL. They’re my favorite turtle. I need a male spotted for my female. But I can never find adults or even larger juveniles. Only babies. My female is like… 10-12 now I think. Actually, you helped save her life last year. Somehow a log fell on her in her tub, (i think one of my cats messed w/ it bc there was no way she could have moved it.) & she drowned. All bc of your video showing how to do CPR I was able to bring her back. I remembered my dad giving a wild snapping turtle CPR when I was little when we were camping. But I didn’t know how to do it or if it was even possible, especially on such a small turtle. But yeah, u found your video & she’s alive & well now bc of you. Now I need to find her a boyfriend.

So we cant have spotted turtles in my state unfortunately but I recently just found out that I can get a special permit from the state to own one. I want 1 of these so bad so wish me luck!!

One thing I’ve noticed is sometimes those lamps don’t like to be hung by their cord. Might be why it was flickering if it wasn’t just the bulb being loose

Maybe try putting turtle sized chunks of rock in the questionable turtle sized holes, to plug them? Then you can use the wood, and not damage it, nor any tiny turtles.
