Sorry you lost your girls. Maybe #2 will finally get to have her babies so at least the original flock can live on in a way. They had great personalities and certainly had survival skills to be out there on their own as long as they were. I wonder if there's a trail cam or wifi security camera that you could add to your wish list so you'll be alerted if something goes after your coup or goes on your property when you are away or sleeping. I hope you got your power back. This heat is no joke.

Yep, they did live a great life, and that's really all that matters in the end. You were great to them since you've been there. And thanks for mentioning us :) Looks like a bee bumped into the rose when you were showing it, lol. Awesome rooster! Can't wait 'til you have chicks eventually! That's one downside of living more down south is the summers get extremely hot. Not sure how we would like that since we don't use AC. I think I would need a pool or something, haha.

You have got yourself a beautiful boy there! I had a Welsummer rooster once. He threw beautiful offspring and he was really good with the girls. I hope yours is as good for you as mine was for me. He will help to protect the girls. Hopefully #2 will settle into the new flock. The rooster may help with that.

It's sweet that you are so attached to your chickens and kitties. I was very touched when you were talking about #1. & #3 having a good life. Being a city girl, I guess I never thought about being attached to your chickens. But having my first small veggie garden this year, I became attached to too. I was introduced to your channel by OITC. Love them and have come to love you too. Keep up the good work. 👍......my granddaughter has become a vegetarian because she does not like the way the animals are treated. I'm proud of her compassion.

That rooster is certainly a beautiful addition to Bobblehead Homestead. It makes me feel sad for you knowing how much you care and have taken care of the wild hens. My power just came back on after a bit of a stormy night, too. Your rooster seems to be pretty calm. Maybe heel be the peace keeper between the hens. He sure is a beauty...I mean handsome fella.

I figured you moving her would break her broodiness. I'm missing a rooster. Had 2 but only seeing 1 right now and haven't heard crowing in days. My dogs keep barking at something in the woods to the SW. My birds are locked up at night but free range during the day. Enjoy your new big beautiful boy.

Our daylilies are just starting to bloom here in far southwest Virginia. Our backroads have them lining the pavement in parts as well. We grabbed a few from by our creek and brought them up to the house because we enjoy them so much. Hey, you did the best you could for the "wild" chickens as well as for the rooster. You do what you have to do, it's all good in the long run, imho.

Wish you were closer. My guineas are sitting on some eggs and I'll have some babies to get rid of. Then again, guineas can be just as much of a curse as an advantage. lol They yell at everything!

I just wanted to let you know that you need to put something solid around the bottom foot or so of your coop. I had racoon's chew right through my chicken wire. They ate two of my laying hens. I would hate for this to happen to you. Great videos though.

Your Welsmmer rooster seems docile towards humans. I am getting another rooster and I want to find one that is not rated as very aggressive. I know it's partly personality. I have an Orpington rooster and he is an absolute sweetheart. Raised him with his flock of hens from a chick. Now I'm getting another flock of 15, including another rooster. Can you speak for a Welsummer rooster as being a 'nice guy'? Thanks if you see this and can answer. Thanks for the video, you impressed me as a sweet guy!
