I grew up to Ray Charles. I remember listening to him in the car with my mom all the time as kid coming to and from home from soccer/baseball/karate class/practice. One of my fondest childhood memories. My mom loved him and was very fortunate to have seen him live maybe 5 years before he died. One the best and most influential musicians of all time. Jamie Foxx did arguably one of the best film portrayals of any celebrity I’ve ever seen in “Ray”. Wonderful film… RIP Ray! 🤌🏼💙
An American Treasure. The man was a genius. Great composer and lyricist. And the soul!! U feel every note. What a Ray!! As an aside, there is a really good bluegrass version of this tune.
@ko0974 I thought he wrote it- it was his own songs, which is what I meant. In the film Ray (2004), Jamie Foxx says "I am singing about my feelings for you. How I love ❤️ you. What could be more natural than that? Huh, Bea? More natural than me & you".
