My transformation from vegan to ex-vegan reel sparked a ton of hate, negative comments, and name calling. So I am going to address some of the comments from that reel in todays video as I make some homemade chicken broth :)

Don't feel bad. If being vegan was not for you then it is not for you. We know our own bodies and what we can or can not tolerate. Hope all goes well. I am happy to see you did what you wanted to do and not what others say.

Your video came up in my feed, probably because I'm an avid viewer of Vegan Deterioration. In my opinion, vegans, particularly the ones on you tube & Instagram are rude, cruel, & misrepresent themselves as compassionate. Hang in there & dont let the haters get you down. Do this for your health. I have M.S. & during a weak & painful moment, I tried veganism. In a matter of months, I could barely get out of bed. I healed the damage with an animal foods only diet for MONTHS to get back to a better place. I'm happy for you & am going to subscribe to your channel. I suspect you will get new subscribers just like people like Yovana did. Have a great day

I've recovered from an eating disorder and I am currently training to become a certified eating disorder coach now. I always say that you have to do what is best for you and your body and nobody should have an opinion on that. You can be healthy eating all foods, and being mentally healthy and having food freedom should be the goal. I'm sorry you got the negative comments! Sending lots of love and support to you 🤗🫶❤💕💕💕xo

Ahhh beautiful that you are stepping into this line of work! We need more people who have been through this to help others along this path as well! There's something really special about it. And yes, no one should have an opinion on it and instead should be happy for the freedom someone has! It's okay, I don't get impacted by the comments anymore but it is just silly to me!

I am so glad that you absolutely stick to your guns, and that you don't let the vegan Pharisees pressure you into second guessing yourself. Your story and your life example are _so_ important in the recovery community. I have seen so many 'recovered' influencers who are vegan, and it seems so contradictory to me. Sure, I believe you can be vegan without having an eating disorder; but you cannot be someone with an ED history and be 'recovered' while still cutting out foods (unless you have a legitimate allergy to watch out for). We need people like you, unafraid and able to eat anything and everything, and advocating for animal nutrition. Love all your stuff!
@flowwithchlo

Appreciate the positive remarks!! Yes, veganism is not an eating disorder but those who had an ed best be extremely careful about eating a very restrictive diet. It just is too close to the unhealthy restriction of the past.

Vegan for 24 years. I have been feeling extremely tired for years and have been to dieticians, doctors, naturopaths and I've changed my vegan diet multiple times to try and get better. I was told years ago that I shouldn't be on a vegan diet, particularly with my ancestry. Anyway, I have been getting worse and over the last four weeks I've ended up in ED twice. Most recently last Friday, I couldn't get out of bed and my body hurt all over. I have also been getting tachycardia. I normally get it occasionally, but it has been happening daily for 4 weeks and has been lasting hours. I've been prescribed beta blockers, but I've been taking it only when necessary as it can cause depression and they are addictive. My last hospital visit showed that my protein levels and amino acid levels were very, very low, so much so that the doctor asked me if I've been making myself throw up. I love food and have been told my vegan diet is adequate, but clearly it is no longer working for me. On Friday after I got out of hospital, as advised by the doctor, I went and had some protein straight away and have been doing so since and I'm already feeling much better. The last few days have been quite interesting. Today I've had people say to me, "wow, you look better! What are you doing?" ...and when I tell them, I've had both vegans and meat eaters alike telling me that I'm being over the top and surely I just need some more lentils. Primary school attitudes are not left behind at Primary school unfortunately...for some these attitudes carry on into adulthood.

I’ve been vegan for 10 years I am African-American. But I have noticed the Caucasians seem to need meat in their diet. I even noticed that white people have more fang like teeth. African-Americans have more rounded and bigger flatter teeth. Even down to the hair, which is straight more like a lion. Black peoples hair is more woolly closer to more of a primate. So I’m starting to believe that white people will have more of a carnivore instinct. Your same story iv seen all over RU-vid of white people saying “I was vegan and then I got sick started eating meat know and I feel amazing.” 🤔 that can’t be a coincidence.

We as humans are constantly evolving. I don't agree with veganisum are there any vegan astronauts? Lol. Our first food is breast milk. A child can not grow up healthly on a vegan diet. Well who knows. Nutrition by victoria does the high carb vegsn lifestyle but she dont look healthy.she is raising her children vegan. She said she does blood work on them every year with no issues so i dont know but on a serious note. I was lifting very heavy weight for 3 years before a got injured.the body can put up with abuse before it breaks. If I hadn't been lifting weights I probably would have lasted longer. Decades who knows but definitely deteriorating.

Blood work is a weird thing cause I will have people who come to me with no period, hair loss, cold all the time, digestive issues, brain fog, low energy, PCOS... and their blood work will come out "normal". And yet they are in so much pain and clearly not in good health. So I don't know, over the years I don't take blood work to be the end all be all sign that someone is healthy.

@@flowwithchlo I never expected to see a comment like this here -- or anywhere -- but it is so relieving to hear someone say this. I have had hormone problems for years. I had HA several years back, followed by PMDD when I regained a regular flow, and the most severe mood swings and crazy depression; this year I just recently went through a cystectomy because there was a solid growth on one of my ovaries, and the laparoscopy also found that I have endometriosis. All that is to say that I had blood work done for my hormones just three months ago. Everything was normal (except for under active thyroid). It's incredibly frustrating sometimes.

@@flowwithchlo so as you know, when your ED also collides with veganism you think you feel great. And really for many years when I got out of the super restrictive stage, I don't remember having too many complaints but there was a point when actually committing to full recovery that I knew I couldn't cut out animal products. I wasn't satisfied after eating and being gassy and bloated isn't fun. I do feel better but still haven't seen any amazing hair, nail or skin differences as I would have hoped. But we are all different. I think EDs and veganism can't go together, but I'm sure there are people out there suited to the vegan lifestyle.

There are a thousand variables to what way of eating works for which person. Everyone is different. I think it's absolutely insane for people to make videos that influence ( inadvertently or not) people to do extreme diets like veganism or keto. Unless you are a registered dietitian, you have no right to give any nutritional advice. It's reckless and dangerous and ends up harming people.
@flowwithchlo

I agree. It's crazy that people so freely talk about these extreme diets without thinking like "hey, this may not be supportive for most people". Diet dogma is often times more intense than religious dogma.

*Registered dietitians have zero idea about food and nutrition. That is an appeal to authority fallacy. There is no reason to follow a dietitians advice on food, most of them don't actually understand what humans should eat* *Secondly, this "everyone is different" nonsense needs to stop. EVERY cat needs to eat meat. EVERY single cow on earth needs to eat grass. There IS a species appropriate diet for human beings, that ALL humans will thrive on and it requires animal foods*

How do you feel about human rights???
@remcovisser7927
@remcovisser7927 10 месяцев назад
I wonder what percentage of vegans live in nature. Animal rights do not exist in nature. A duck, for example, simply lets some of its nearly born chicks die on purpose. And of the chicks born, only 5% survive the first few weeks. Mother duck fears for her life and that of her young every day. They are eaten by fish, birds and rats, for example, and if they are alive they are often chased away. Male ducks practically rape the female ducks in an attempt to impregnate them. It's very extreme. Life in nature is very hard. Not just for the ducks. For example, fish also do not know whether they will still be alive the next day. We humans are 'unfortunately' omnivore and not herbivore. If you can live a healthy life as a herbivore then you are lucky.

Very few people can be truly healthy for long periods of time with no B12, low choline levels, vitamin D, retinol, heme iron, etc. If you want to be vegan and healthy you can try and prolong the negative impacts of malnutrition by taking a bunch of supplements but that doesn't really seem too healthy to me.
