@@Bos_Meong I'll likely play it against friends who don't use decks that in my opinion kill the fun, not to say the negating stuff isn't fun or part of the game, if others enjoy that then by all means have fun, I just don't think it's for me. Fast game good game
Omni negate is really killing the game for me. I can play thru everything except that. I don’t even mind my opponent summoning a million times but when that turns into a game lock out, why am I playing? 🙄
@AbazXIDC I wish people didn’t just go for the “meta” I just don’t see the fun in using what everyone else is using just cause it’s easier I don’t play master deck like that but I like watching the 3 idiots play.. this is just my gripe about most PvP games out there I’ve been playing elden ring religiously the past month & the satisfaction I get from defeating meta users cause they’re so bad at the mechanics of the game the only reason they bring a challenge is their weapons/gear.. I’m not the best player either lol prolly average at best atm
@AbazXIDC hell yeah that’s what makes the game fun! I feel the same way when I play meta feins lol.. It’s those same people that say “oh this game is dead” well it’s only dead to them because they’re meta hungry & win most of the time lol
Honestly the fact that you managed to hold on to the slightest bit of joy and dignity against the herald/drytron deck is why I respect you. Even after his 30min turn you still laughed and made jokes without getting mad. This is the type of positivity I need in my life
That goku edit was hilarious af gotta say lmao, also love the thumbnail, Doppelganger aka Mimicat was my favorite toon animation back then so I love seeing him!!
This is Drytron Herald we're talking about. Out of the five cards in his hand, six of them were negates, allowing him to stop the next seven plays. After all eight have been used, the next play the opponents makes (the tenth, for those keeping count) will automatically fail to resolve, rendering that eleventh play effectively countered. If my math is correct, that would leave him with only one negate left, but the opponent wouldn't have three cards left to play through all four of them, thus resulting in a well earned and totally balanced victory for the Drytron player.
Fun fact Doto: in the TCG, they recognized Eva as a problem card, so they banned that card along with other generic ritual support cards. Kind of crazy how many ritual support cards are banned in the TCG.
Other than the aforementioned Eva and Djinn Releaser of Rituals (which was banned for being an almost permanent Scythe Lock by Nekroz in 2015) there are no ritual based cards that are forbidden
4:55 Their original effect is supposed to be not caring about the opponent's attacks, but I guess Konami thought that would be too busted and reversed it to ignoring the opponent's defense when they got translated to the card game. I have no idea how that works "lore-wise," since the original concept played off of how they're too agile to hit(a concept that was kind of brought back in a way with Toon Kingdom, which combined that with their ability to hide inside of Toon World to avoid destruction from card effects), but it is what it is.
Doto: Honestly hoping that his router falls over at this point, it’s kinda my best play here. Me (thinking): Then perhaps you should call on the power of your Millennium Router once more.
they aren't fun to duel at all. they take wayy too long to finish their turn and then when it comes to ur turn, u aren't able to play because of their infinite amount to negates. to beat drytron, u need to go first or else it's GG.
@@communitylo3313 the chance is extremely slim and most time u go up against a dryton they have more then one monster with negating abilities. drytron always seem to have a way to get out of sticky situations. also, most meta decks don't include those cards.
That drytron player was lucky Dota wasn't using his joey wheeler structure deck, I'd love to see what play he has to counter the ultimate combo of Baby Dragon, + Kunai with Chain + Castle Walls.
@@jdennis867 You can add every card to every meta deck. Doesn’t matter. It‘s up to you if you want to have these cards or not. Also with droplet and dark ruler no more you can negate more than 1 monster. So all they could have would be one negation because of orange light which they get from eva during their first turn. You just need to droplet beatrice and herald and that‘s it. But yes drytron is in my opinion the best meta deck, even if they start with turn 2 and then they have the freaking boss monster natasha
@@giomartino6 Funnily enough I was steam rolling through Silver and was stopped dead in my tracks by a Tri Brigade Zoodiac player with terrible wifi lmao. Even with all the extra time I had to think my jank Elemental Heroes deck I put together had no chance
@@grimreaper3574 its such a cluster fuck if its not douche-brigade then its zoodiac zeus and if not that you got the damn birds luralisc stupid pidgeons to deal with or the king pidgeon himself soveringe (whateverthefukitscalled) that summons the stupid statue
As someone who has only started watching Yu-Gi-Oh because of your videos, the sheer amount of cards and archetypes that are completely unique and different is astounding. There were three completely new deck types to me in this video alone, it's crazy!
I went from knowing nothing about yu-gi-oh, beyond the early anime, to absolutely loving these videos. Keep em up Doto! Also I would love to see an elemental hero deck, with the classics of sparkman clayman etc in there! Gotta feed the nostalgia goblin
Any chance we can see some 5Ds coverage for Master Duel, Doto? I’d love to see you versus Deion using decks based on Jack Atlas and Yusei Fudo, or just you using something like Red Dragons, Blackwings, or Earthbound Immortals!
I think aside from Yusei's synchro spam junk deck, which I like personally but I can understand why others don't, I could probably see them playing the signer dragons, earthbound immortals and maybe the meklords and/or timelords. Resonators for Jack, Rose Dragon for Akiza, Morphtronics (or maybe some other deck that can support morphtronics) for power tool, and blackwings for the sychro monsters (honestly I'm just not sure what kind of deck they'd use for Luna, she was kinda just playing generic fairies). Plus the Earthbound immortals, timelords and meklords for the main villains. Would probably be interesting.
I believe the reason is that Doto hasn't seen any ygo anime post-GX. So hard to get in character if they don't know them. Would be funny to hear if Deion would say "IM THE MASTAH OF THE FASTAH".
may I suggest meklords? that and junk/stardust are the only 5Ds archetypes I've played in duel links, and with the Astro dragons it seems rlly fun in this game!
I've only played a Drytron deck like twice. The first time I just surrendered cuz I knew I didn't want to play it. The second time I was actually able to beat it by going first and just sitting on Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax and watched them struggle to kill him. That was fun. Great video as always Doto!!
@@zackmhuntr25 I feel like silver is worse than gold since a lot of high rank players let themselves derank to get more gems from ranking back up. Gold has been the sweet spot for me where I ran into the least tryhards.
That insert of YuGi talking Doto down from the hedge has me in stitches. I remember rethinking my life the first time I came across the excellence deck.
KONAMI: "No, you can't draw 2 cards. At least you must banish your monster in Main or Extra deck if you want 2 cards." KONAMI to Herald: "Here EVA;Pot of Greed that designed for only you. You just need to banish 2 unimportant cards from your GY and you can choose the 2 cards from your deck too. Or you can use this Benten, it only gives you one fairy but it's not once per turn. And you can use those 2 cards for unlimited copy, so enjoy your unlimited negate."
Yes! Another Toon video! Your Master Duel videos are the reason I got back into YuGiOh again and also the reason why I made a Toon deck (they are *so* fun lmao) I just wanna say thank you for the awesome content and helping me get back in touch with a franchise that's like an old childhood friend, cheers man
8:03 rookie mistake, full armor master is unaffected by other card effects even other cards they control so he doesn't combo with kalut and they were dumb enough to waste 2 of them even though that would've been unnecessary even if it worked
Oooh Doto boy!! I feel like I’m my head cannon… Maximilian Pegasus is like your father or something. You’ve got the infectious personality that brings smiles.
I once almost won against herald using dragonmaid, all I had to do was negate it's effect, but I had my reactions off, because so much was happening and my connection was bad. Didn't want it to turn 60mins just because of my connection, so I missed it while looking away and straight up lost. Still very fair and balanced herald turn 1
I actually beat a Herald/Drytron deck with good old Blue Eyes before. It was only because my opponent kept playing trough my Maxx C but still. I don't usually go around promoting my videos in other people's comment sections, but I have the match uploaded if you want the catharsis by proxy lmao.
I've just played master duel and i see a miracle, a drytron player without herald! For some reason i didn't surrender when i saw the word drytron like usual Good thing that happened, otherwise i wouldn't know playing against the actual drytron is actually an enjoyable experience
I randomly got some Drytron cards and I want to try them out in a deck with Blue-Eyes but I know that if I do then my opponents are gonna quit immediately. And I couldn't even blame them.
@@ashikjaman1940 You could probably make a Chaos MAX Dragon turbo with the prediction monsters and Drytron since they both are basically ritual support.
Love seeing you use decks that not many other people use(i.e. toon and luck decks). Seems like you have so much fun with them and I love seeing you have fun, man! It's also hella fun to watch.
love seeing you use toons, my favourite deck and the one i built first and have been using since the start, ive gotten so close to platinum a few times before getting DD Dynamite back to gold 3... its tough using toons against all the op decks though...
Your first MD video is what made me wanna play Toons, and I still main them now, I’ve adjusted my deck sooo many times, but it’s safe to say that my toon deck is pretty damn op, its got me all the way to platinum every single season restart
I started playing on Xbox today. Took inspiration from your luck deck (losing to dice rolls and coin tosses is totally fair.) I did build the wrest of the deck off my own feel though. I didn't know how to play Yu-gi-oh until today either, but you gave the fun you have to me. Even losing I'm having a good laugh.
Honestly a lot of cards Drytron players use are limited or banned in the real game, Master Duel is truly just the wild west of Yugioh Oh, and i really reccomend making a Tenyi deck. It's cheap, easy to build, easy to play, and still plenty strong, and it's really funny too if the opponent can't get over a 1k non effect monster lol
Of course, KONAMI should ban or limit their cards. It's crazy they can have ez searcher for unlimited number, they have 3 Benten and not once per turn, EVA give +2, and Arc Light for search ritual card.
I'm pretty sure he pulls the scariest weapon of all...finger guns. Pegasus is lucky he didn't have rubber bands on hand. The edit always made me laugh, but I recently read the manga and they don't play around Pegasus makes Kieth shoot himself in the head.
I completely agree that the 5Ds era is awesome. I personally always loved decks from the old era, specifically Synchron and Stardust. It’s my main deck in Master Duel rn
@@darthjarjar5309 as did I, I love all the classics. Hell, Dark Magician is one of favorites, if not my favorite archetype. It seems like you misunderstood my words as referring to 5Ds only. I meant 5Ds and before, that being GX and Duel Monsters.
Doto I would love to see u do a destiny board deck mostly because of the luck aspect and knowing that u r the luckiest guy out there I feel like it would be perfect for u also love the vids keep them up
Bro your hilarious, had me choking on my breath, keep it up. As for what deck I'd like to see tbh man you've been killing it with you're own ideas, love seeing these funky strats
A personal favorite deck that I haven't really seen on Master Duel besides myself is Lair of Darkness. All the omni-negate in the world can't prepare you for your monster being tributed for the cost. Lilith flashing Waking the Dragon as a trap helps deter them from popping the backrow, since you can just bring out Ultimate Falcon or a Naturia boss of your choice and just be a pain to deal with. Eradicator Epidemic Virus just gets rid of all spells or traps, Super Poly lets you turn 3 of their monsters into Predaplant Triphyoverutum and stop an extra deck summon, Beat Cop as a link lets you use your tokens to link and add a bit of protection to lair, and Darkest Diabolos just does not go away, along with him working perfectly with Eradicator and Grinning Grave Virus. Gravedigger's Trap Hole can stop Ash Blossoms or graveyard shenanigans, too. Just keep tributing their monsters and placing traps.
I don't know if this counts as an archetype but Sharks are some of my favorite cards along with any fish card in general, so I think you could do some great stuff. Amazing video again Doto.
I play Blackwings and my first time trying out Full Armor Master I made the same mistake the guy did at 8:04. It's not just opponent card effects, it's all card effects. He definitely looked up the deck, built it, and went in without understanding.
I had a similar pyro burn deck based around the Solar Flare Dragon, built a similar burn deck around that card for MD as well, can be fun once out get them out as well as the magic old man cards.
Toons was the first deck I built as well. It feels goodish still. But, toons could certainly benefit from a little bit of support. I like for a little bit more draw power that's in archetype and some extra deck support would be real nice.
Oh hell yeah dude. Solar Flare Dragon is my absolute favorite card, my first deck was a pyro/fire deck with him as the icon of the deck. He is my son and I love to hear you like him too.
Toons attacking directly is a nice nod to the mtg "you always attack the player, they choose defenders" aspect. Early toons also had Summoning sickness. Yugioh was poking fun at MTG.
I'd love to see your take on a lunalight deck. In my opinion it's a decently strong deck without being too overpowered. If your opponent is running a meta deck with 18 billion negates then you won't have that much fun, but if you and your opponent are both running off-meta decks it can be really fun.
Eva is one of the best cards in the game. I used to play one in a world chalice deck, back when it was just lee, and the normals and the guardragon and world legacy world chalices. But I had 1 guardragon, 3 lee, 3 level 4 normal, 3 wlwc, 3 Venus, 3 shineballs, 3 herald of orange, 1 eva, 3 rescue rabbits, 3 ophris scorpios, 1 darlingcobra, 3 exodius, and 3 brilliant fusions, and literally any hand would give you so many summons and link ups that you usually ended on an extra link with trigate wizard, firewall, linkuriboh, Phoenix, cerberus, and saryuja (or gumblar to kill their hand), and while I'm linking up I'd send Eva to get 2 heralds, usually with some lees or shineballs in hand, and it was just unstoppable. If someone could have maxx c'd me, I could have decked them out every time cause exodius kept putting everything back in to use it all again til my board was full. Soooo so good. Eva was the star of the deck. Just brilliant fusion it and lazuli away to get a shineball and 2 heralds and a seraphnite, extra normal summon, and no one understood why it was so good, but it was bomb as fuck. Just a shit ton of multiple summon monsters and extra normals to use up to 3 normal summons for my Venus, or Scorpio, or rescue rabbit, or lee, or whatever, then so many extenders I never needed to stop.
Only monsters you should play are toon dark magician, toon bls, toon red eyes and red stones. With Page flip, Bookmark and Toon table you should be able to put BLS Magician, and Red eyes on the field pretty easily. Union carrier and Toon rollback make BLS an otk. If everybody is able to attack its 7900. Xyz summon with magician and red eys into flare metal dragon. Any effect they activate burns them for game. Or link with those three and a fourth monster for Agave dragon burning them for game that turn. But if you have a fourth you could probably attack for game anyway. Nibiru for a big token and steal with Comic hand can also win games.
As a deck suggestion, Mekk Knight could be fun to try out O: It plays very unconventionally by gaining advantage over your opponent if 2 or more cards are in the same column. It's a very unique deck mechanic and I've been running a pure Mekk Knight deck lately and it's been a very fresh and fun experience.
6 to 9 of the strongest Kaijus depending on your desired deck size (pause). With 3 copies of each toon kingdom, toon table of contents, comic hand, shadow toon, owner's seal, rescue warrior and any 9 hand trap monster cards such as battle fader and speedroid menko and ghost ogre snow rabbit. Unbeatable. Plus A list level 7 and 4 synchro monster to go with ghost ogre snow rabbit. Beats any unbeatable deck even itself.
