I reckon if a hacker gets caught, lock them up in a jail cell with no TV, internet, phones, they just get bed, 3 crap meals a day and a little time in an area devoid of equipment but they have their own angry United States Marines drill sergeant each day to take them through an intensive training regime to ensure they never want to hack again.
yeah this happened to a world of warcraft channel i watched a couple years back like 2021, some crypto scam streams after a malicious partnership thing. think they struggled for a week trying to get the channel back. crazy man
The most shocking thing for me is that they could change all the 2FA and verification information without having to use the existing 2FA or verification information!
Jim Browning is a youtube creator who's full time job and channel is investigating scammers and he got his youtube stolen by a tech support scam. He made a video about it its pretty wild.

If you want to do anything like rebrand your channel, change passwords, contact details etc. It should be a painful and laborious process by default. Because the alternative is a headache no one wants.
this what happened to me before but how it happened was i was a looking for a editing program and this one website looked legit i downloaded from but ended up downloading some malware now they had access to my whole pc so i had to changed everything
Jeez, seems like a yuge vulnerability on Google/youtube's end. I'm in IT, but some of the web auth and cookie stuff goes over my head. STILL, I would expect the session tokens to have something unique with your PC in it, so if they steal that token, youtube goes "thanks for the token, let's check if it's the PC we're expecting. OPE, wrong PC identifier, DENIED!" Scary stuff, some real scumfucks out there. Stay safe and stay rad!
The amount of fraud and scams going on is ridiculous and so sad more folks rather rip of those who do actually work then get off their sorry ass and get a job themselves. It was only exacerbated with the pandemic. Sad world..
