I went through this a year ago. I asked for a letter of recommendation and used that for leverage. That helped me bounce back into a better position and salary.
I’ve been laid off 4x in my working career. Great severances with all of them. It’s a business just like athletes getting released/cut etc. you’re young and there are opportunities out there. Keep grinding!
Yo Lloyd! So sorry to hear about your job loss. I've been there before. It only made me want to dive deeper in to my content creation/creativity. It's like you said already- what's for you is for you! I have no doubt that you will bounce back!
Yeah I got laid off May 1st, yeah times are crazy. There is no longer a job you can be loyal to, unfortunately you have to put your family and best interests before these companies. And if that means better opportunities come leave for it. I’m thankful now I have another job! It doesn’t pay as much as my old job but it’s a great place to start! It’s hard living on my own and struggled with no income for two months. I’m still struggling while I start my new job with no income, but God has been sustaining me!
Thanks for the transparency and wishing you well on the next endeavor heading your way! Your content has been a huge help for me. My current job is perfect for my pursuit in creating content and it randomly found me lol. You’re going to be OK 👍🏽
So glad you recorded where you are right now with this. It’s a lot to process! You’re blessed to have a wonderful partner in your life so that you have support while you figure out those next steps. We’re out here rooting for you, Lloyd!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💕💕💕🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It's like a sudden death when you don't expect. I made one employer unplug my computer to stop me from working. I laugh about that every time I think about it. Later, I was part of a class action and got several thousand dollars in back pay. That was nice!!

Seems like when I lost a job I always got something better.
That sucks but podcasting is your next part of your journey. Lean in homie. Also, make your videos 8 minutes or longer so you can add mid roll ads on RU-vid 🤙🏻🤙🏻🎉🎉🤙🏻🤙🏻
I wonder why he got laid off? He is focusing on making RU-vid videos instead of refining and upgrading his skills at the office so he can provide more and greater service to the company. He is focusing on building relationships with RU-vid subscribers instead of building relations with upper management. He is lazy. look at him. He probably told people at work that he has outside projects. Which is unwise!! Dont bring personal life to your career! Who wants a worker like him??? Of Course he would never admit it and will blame everyone but himself..... I have worked in the corporate world over 25 years and have never been layed off! Company bosses appreciate " Perceived" loyalty and if they think you have outside projects going on they feel as though you are distracted and not fully vested in the company!! ... just look at him talking about the last job he failed at!... he doesn't even admit the role he played in causing the company/firm to be less interested in him.... look forward to more layoffs buddy!!!
