"What if something beyond our control happens?" That is when God comes in. When your marriage is strictly built in God's will and laws, it becomes formidable. There is nothing you would not overcome. Hardship, quarrels are inevitable surely but it is important to know that they could shape your union thereafter. It is imperative that is dealt with in a positive and lovely manner. Marriage is a union that two souls, bodies, minds becomes one. It is no longer about oneself but OURSELVES. "How would this benefits us?" "Would he/she be happy with this?" "How would he/she approach this situation?" It is a selfless communion; loosing yourself in the other and the other reciprocating. This idea however is castrated in some modern marriages. Or is it just the internet? I have seen young couples irl still bustling in love no matter the circumstances. When we are grounded by the misconceptions of marriage instead of realizing its beauty, apathy comes in. Marriage isn't scary, you just haven't found the one. Nowadays we are obsessed in individualism than community. When you shift your focus on positivity, the outcome is great. It is scary, fine, but others' opinions and fallouts should not determine yours. Nevertheless, When you linked everything - even the very foundation - it is controllable by God's special grace. Leave everything unto Him. Shoulder His yoke for it is lighter and peace would be granted unto you. Loosing touch is common in marriages. To avoid it going haywire, a healthy conversation is necessary. Pray about it. Discuss with an experienced couple or seek professional counsel. Mostly, importantly pray.
