hello. DISCLAIMER: this workshop (at least to my knowledge) has no direct connection to the 2024 production in london! this was its own thing, and the main thing that came out of it was the 2018 bochum version. the 2024 london production will probably take general influence from this, but please dont assume that this is exactly what the new production will be like

Genuinely great song... but it's so clearly a perfect update for Girls' Rolling Stock!

Those who said “Bad Cinderella” sounded so much like “in my own little corner” have clearly never heard this. Because THIS song is what “Bad Cinderella” sounds like… TO ME.

It sounds nothing like either. And for better or worse, Bad Cinderella was a homage to In My Own Little Corner, but nobody seems to understand such nuance these days. Everyone just wants to hate. Sad really.

In the 2024 London revival at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, instead of those lyrics, we might get the English lyrics we can hear in the English version of I Am Me on the Ich Bin Ich cast recording on Spotify and any other music streaming services.

This is absolutely awful!!! They really just should go back to the original production tracklisting/plot/somewhat surreal tone of the 1984 version! Just to clarify though, I'm not suggesting that they should simply duplicate the '84 show. I think slight changes in the musical arrangements and character designs/ inspiration/ contemporary pop culture references/ etc could do something that all the other revisions since 1987 impeccably failed to achieve: Give the show a sense of contemporary relevance/trendiness, while remaining faithful to original! For instance, I think it would be quite creative if Electra were to make his entrance with all his aggressive race gear that makes him look a massive/intimidating electric locomotive, only to remove much of it (helmet, shoulder pads, chest plate, etc) and hand it off to his components, only to reveal that he is a fidgety, scrawny, small actor underneath (a la Thom Yorke) & his components would have costume designs representing the other members of Radiohead. One of which would obviously be modeled after Johnny Greenwood (complete with a korg KP2 touchscreen audio sampler/FX manipulator that would be used by said component to achieve all those super cool vocal effects in the original production to "switch & change" Electra's frequencies in a similar manner to how Johnny manipulated Thom's vocals in live performances of "everything in its right place!" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hvMql9XgIg0.htmlsi=SJzDsmKs4pEwheyT Electra's original character design drew heavily from Prince, the same way that Greaseball's referenced Elvis, Dinah's Dolly Parton, Flattop's Joe Strummer, Poppa's howlin wolf/muddy waters/bb king/bo diddly, etc... I think the original version of this show was light years ahead of its time and when snotty and pretentious critics (most of which were prolly intimidated by the fact that it was neither easily digestible fluff nor was it "the run of the mill" intense piece of theatre some college professor they may have had years prior (and most likely secretly resented) praised as classic drama, it triggered some sort of desire to constantly revise/rewrite the show hoping it would be recognized/ appreciated by the professional theatre community! Well, that just handed more ammunition for the "critics" to load in their guns! It might be worthwhile to point out that critics also poopoo-ed on star wars, the neverending story, Coppola's the conversation and many other (now considered) brilliant entertainment masterpieces as well! And one of the reasons those works achieved the praise they currently have now, is that they offered and intrigued viewers to see them over and over and because they offered up more and more details to audience members with each viewing! I really hope this 2024 production will creatively interpret the original rather than just another crappy rewrite of something that was quite exceptional from the start and really didn't need to be tinkered with! Just my 2¢
