I got my grail watch! The Rolex Explorer II 

I don't consider myself an outdoors person, but even I love this reference. I just appreciate how relatively understated it is compared to the rest of their lineup. The whole Explorer line in general is just perfect.

Purchased this same watch last year. I’m the same way always outdoors hiking/ camping traveling. This is the perfect watch for me, been wearing it daily for the past year.

Finally got one two weeks ago. Couldn't be happier. I'm a hunter and outdoorsman too. Perfect watch.

This is the most solid Rolex that a Rolex collector can buy. The black dial is ideal for working and any activities.

Congratulations! A very honest collection. I got my 16700 black/black back in 2004 and I wore it about 4000-4500 days since. It survived a marriage, a few awkward situations in nameless part of the world (once as collateral to a non English speaking bush pilot), and many late night assignments, lol. Back then, always carry a few $100 bills and a Rolex, and you can barter/buy your way out of sticky situations. I got a 116520 white preowned in 2008 from a jewelry shop in Cesar Palace after a rare success , but rarely wear it. I always grab the gmt, probably instinctively better for work. The ex even “accidentally “ took it and gave it back after she “found” it. She did have a great sense of humor and was scarier than most people I met. I stopped wearing it about 5 ago because of stupid attention it and I were getting. I went from tool watch to whatever it’s now. Sorry for the long story, but I want to share how watches became witnesses to our lives. Wear them, enjoy them, and try to remember the stories that come with every scratch and ding. I think the grail is to live the life true yourself and curate those that truly deserves your time. Have a great journey!

Congratulations! I picked up the same watch from my AD back in April and absolutely love it. I do wear other watches in my collection a couple of times a week, but it's really hard to not have that on my wrist all the time. I love the balance of being more tool focused still and not as flashy as a GMT Master. I wouldn't mind owning one of those still, but I am absolutely in no hurry to get one any time soon. I just think the Explorer II works in more situations and I love the "ultra-maxi" dial markers and hands. I've seen many Subs even since I got my Explorer II, but I have only seen one Explorer II in the wild in ~5 years.

Just picked up the same watch. I love it. I am also in the process of downsizing my collection. I’d rather have fewer but better pieces now in my journey.

Congrats man! I have been eyeing this piece for sometime myself. I will pick one up when the time is right. Also, agree with you regarding the Sub and GMT. It is difficult to choose between them, but the Explorer II is a solid underrated option Enjoy!

The Ex2 is a great and beautiful watch and high on my list. Had the previous 21 issue but didn't like the black out hand and the dainty clasp. Both being now rectified. Let's not get carried away with the whole outdoor adventure thing. The Ex2 is a scratch magnet with the polished sides and stainless bezel and not a proper diver at 100 metres either. I think your Omega webmaster will be more the adventure piece. None the less. The ex2 is certainly a class act in every regard and my favourite Rolex by a mile because it has a bigger window. More legible than any other rolex and the orange gym hand really makes it pop. Congratulations.

Congratulations! Rolex just nails it right with their watches. And that truly gives the ownership experience like, this is Rolex, and then there is everyone else, with this-and-that that doesn’t quite work cohesively. Rolex understands the end user experience better than any other, in my opinion. I noticed in the Submariner bezel how the scalloped dimples around the edge catch the light in a cascade. That was unexpected.

Congrats! It is on my list as well. I love the black dial and orange GMT hand, it contrasts so well and has the history throw back as well. The white dial has all the hype but this black dial is my choice.
