Fantastic Four issue #1 is definitely the grail comic of marvel silver age... I'm super excited about your recent comic haul.. FF is my biggest collection.. 68-399... I'm still missing issues 1-67.. Every one of those issues drawn by kirby is something special....
Gabe Infinity Watch Yeah! I love the first issues with Stan and Kirby. But my favourite run is the Byrne one. The way he added more complexity to the characters like making Sue the Invisible Woman instead of "Girl" was pretty cool. He added depth to already interesting characters like Dr. Doom or Galactus :D And what is your favourite run? :O
Way to go, Gabe! I can feel your joy! I always appreciated someone else not feeling ashamed to admit that the FF was one of their top picks either in their youth or currently. Myself reading comics starting in the 70s I always had the FF at the top of my stack the week they would come out. And that was a period where the stories weren't always that great but still did ok in sales. I'm also patiently waiting for the ultimate film to be produced that would put them in the public eye again. Enjoy your piece of history!!
+Jeffrey Roberts Thanks a lot. I'm glad my joy was felt because I couldn't help but feel over joyed while make this video. FF are terribly over looked and it's a crime. Even Hickman's run didn't sell extremely well.
Nice video Gabe! As someone who hasn't gotten into the Fantastic Four yet, what newer series could you recommend to someone with little knowledge of the characters? Something maybe post 2000 upward? Thanks :)
+InsidiousSwede Thanks, bro. The best series to read that will get you familiar with the characters is the Mark Waid And Mike Weiringo run. It's pretty much prefect.
Congratulations! That is a true milestone in your collecting life. The Fantastic Four is my all time favorite comic and having a #1 is a true accomplishment!
that's awesome :) to expensive for me haha probably unless I can save for it one day,im kinda new into collecting but what a gorgeous book!! right now my holy grail right now has to be fantastic four #48 but ill settle for #49,im not a dc fan really but I love jack Kirby and galactus is my favorite character of all time, only jack kerby could come up with a character that used to be human then merges with the universe to become a semi-unwilling destroyer of worlds, such a bad ass character haha love it
Brother, I couldn't be happier for you. Seriously. Wish I could take a shot with you! FF1 is your holy grail. Mine, would probably Giant Size X-men 1. Congrats again. Thought about sending a video reply with me taking shots. :)
+Omar Valdivieso Thanks dude! Go ahead and make that video reply. That would be great. I hope one day you get your Giant Sized X-Men. It's also a very important book.
That's awesome man! (New sub here) My favorites will always be X-Men, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Spiderman. Huge batman The Question and martian Manhunter fan too.
ive got the hard cover of the ff. the first thirty issues all in one. ive always wanted the first ff comic. I do own bronze age ff comics awesome review gabe infinity watch. fantastic.
So wonderful for you dude ! Very happy for you and it's a fuck*** holy grail you have here. Thanks for sharing this story with us. For me my Holy grail it's Flash #123 in a grade onder 4.0 :) I will have soon my Avengers 4 CGC back but yeah one copy of Flash #123 is my grail ! Cheers from Belgium ! :D
Congrats mate for this awesome purchase! I have a question: as you put togheter the two comic books, it seems that the Batman comic is bigger than the other one. Shouldn't be the other way round?
+Fabio Mantellini The FF is much bigger than Batman. Comics back then were printed on bigger paper. Maybe I wasn't holding them right or maybe it had to do with the different CGC cases. Thanks a lot for the comment.
I'm not sure if I have a Holy Grail right now. Some issues I'd like to have are Moon Knight 29, Wolverine 17 and 23, Preacher 3 and 18, Marvel Presents 73, Uncanny X-Men 133 and 251, Daredevil 227, and Marvel Fanfare 6.
NEW GODS NO,7 IS GREATEST,,,JACK KING KIRBY REALLY PEAKED IN THIS REVELATION OF A COMICS LEGENDARY STATUS JACKS ARTWORK IN THIS.....Brrrrrrr IT JUST SHAKES ME TO MY FOUNDATIONARY ATOMIC EXISTENCE!!!!!!!! BOOM /POW,,ZOWY /BAM/SLAM/DUNK !!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on your Holy Grail. Magnificent copy. My Holy Grail is Amazing Fantasy 15. I got it back in 1979 and forty years later is still with me. It's raw and graded 5.0 or 6.0. I don't know if in the near future I'll send it to one of the companies to be graded and encapsulated. I'm still dealing with that.
You should send it in to CGC To get graded. It makes it easier to insure on your homeowner's or renter's insurance. Because there is a solid proof or value once it's professional graded.
@@GabeLoves90sComics How much did you pay when you send to be regraded and reencapsulated? If you can tell me, if not i undertstand. felix.maldonado.r@gmail.com
Hey man. I dig your videos. They help me decide what books I may or may not want to purchase. A question if you don't mind. What book cases do you have? They look great with the Omni's on them.
I KNOW IT'S 4YEARS LATER BUT I HOPE YOU GOT A T SHIRT WITH THIS ON IT AND HOW MUCH DID YOUR HOLY GRAIL COST YOU !!!!!! DON'T TELL ME UNDER 20 ,THOUSAND!!!!!!!! ALL HAIL JACK KING KIRBY!!!!!!!!!!
Would just like to congratulate you on this. Well done! I’d be honoured if you would check out my top 50 and let me know what you think. I’ve only just started with the channel. Take care.
