Being a business owner is probably the hugest learning curve ever. I'm still partial to the idea hiring drivers, but the reality is if you want your enterprise to expand, you need to hire drivers. Ghost, you're only one person, and all you can do at the end of the day is to mitigate and isolate risk diligently, and stay on your workers. Shouldn't have to babysit grown folks, but you CANNOT allow your staff to take you under. Keep your head up!

I been a owner op for a year now so I feel your pain.It comes with sooooooo much responsibility for you and your drivers but in the end it all falls on you.Having drivers is cool when you counting money but when it comes to accepting their responsibility that’s the hard part.Keep trucking homie cause I know I will.AN DONT USE LINX UP ELD SYSTEMS

Wow, you are working so hard to make good, in a business. Then you keep getting hit with this , should be a non issue, issues with Drivers major errors. Your helping them with a good job but they slamming a butchers knife in your back. I hope you find a good solution to your Driver issue. It's a very scary idea. You can over come these setbacks, the best way is the hard part. Thanks for the honest video on the reality on employing good Drivers.

You keep on getting those out of services and tickets they will put you out of business. Safety record will headed for the red zone, insurance will get a lot higher, brokers will be more likely to load you.... yep, on your way out and nothing you can do about it unless you start now taking care of business. Oh yeah they can..I got pulled over on Interstate 10 while driving a day cab rolling a whooping 63mph by a state trooper and he told me that I did nothing wrong but he just wanted to do a random level 1 on me. Just of the blue so yeah they damn sure can.
You’ve got to run your business like a business. Have the drivers send logs or review there logs daily. I’m gonna be straight up, don’t let people fuck up what you worked hard to build. Treat them like employees or contractors, not friends.

Roc900 EXACTLY! I agree! Ghost seems like a good dude, but he might trust people too much. If it was me, I’d be like “let me check your logs.” It’s his business. Can’t be scared or too timid to check on people. Not saying that he is, but he’s learning the hard way. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m older and have more experience.

Cmon man!!!! I’m sorry but every video I see your team is just bending you over and sticking it to you extra hard. My opinion you need to revamp your screening process. I know it’s hard cause everyone talks a good game. I’ve been rollin for just about 15yrs o/o for 5. I’m about to get my second truck and start to do what you have already accomplished in such a short time. You definitely have a great business sense don’t let anyone ruin that for you. In the end so called friends, drivers, acquaintances that claim to have your back they don’t. Remember the Tesla account!! Yeah! Only someone that truly has your back is God and yourself!!
Good video. We can't cross any scale unless our logs are current, that's been the way I've driven for over 18 years now. You did right by letting the driver go your company cannot succeed with drivers like that.

He's going to be out of business if he keeps operating this way. People you hall for or may want to hall for look at this stuff DOT,CSA Score and won't let you hall for them. Now you're going to be getting pulled in scales,and stopped by DOT more often

If you and the driver are on ELD then why doesn't his ELD automatically record his drive time on his? Just asking because I use keep truckin with my wife as a co driver.
